Arcane: Episode 5 & 6 - Patreon Version

Comments

David Lonewolf Wright

This is my 4th time watching and I just made the link of Viktor's assistant.

bushpusherr

I was watching along with y'all for the first time for the first 4 episodes but I couldn't help myself and had to binge the rest haha. Happy to now rewatch with you! Thanks for the upload :) I also dig how George's new room is taking shape!

In the era binge-watching, it's so cool to see that good old "THEY CAN'T END THIS EPISODE HERE AND I HAVE TO WAIT FOR A WHOLE WEEK" face and live that experience vicariously.

Did I miss EP 3 & 4? Somehow cannot find it in my patreon feed.

Kozmo

I like this edit for watch alongs, as someone who has already watched the show.

AC10

Anyone else here wait almost a whole year to watch this show with them? I wanted to watch it so bad... but with them is so much better.

39: 57 Simone: "because of Blood and Hex Magicy Sh** Meer Bludilutilu Ehee".... You are so in tune to this show it is insane. I love it!

There is a game that came out around the same time as the show, an RPG called Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. It is in the same world and does a lot of world building for some of the other areas you hear mentioned in the show some and LoL. It has a cool style and is actually pretty decent.

Love you guys, but the vibe is pretty different since George already saw Arcane, I think we all would have given you guys a pass if George pretended to watch it for the first time, with an appropriate disclaimer at the beginning to let everyone know of course. You two would normally feed off each others energy, but since George has to stay quiet for most of the show Simone also is a bit reserved.

Yeah, I'd honestly prefer just one of them do the reaction if the other has already seen a particular movie/show. Kind of throws off the vibe when one person knows everything and the other doesn't. Not as fun to watch, so to speak. That said, I'm enjoying this one overall because of how much Simone is loving it. :-)

I'm wondering if Rio is implied to be the basis of Shimmer?

Mitchell Bowker

Have either of you seen ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL? Not as great as ARCANE but a good fun cyberpunk action film from 2019.

Yes, "the rare mutation" singed talkes about is whatever turns these shrooms into shimmer

Not take anything away from Imagine Dragons but I have to mute the intro. Just not my jam I guess. Fits with the show though. I found it weird they were depicted but I bet it was fun to do. Again... nothing against them at all. And Jinx seems suspiciously similar to Tiny Tina from Borderlands. Like very very similar. The animation, sound design, art style, story, and voice acting are pretty amazing in this show. I can see why some people are googoo over it.

pedantech

Imagine Dragons have a history with Riot. They're big fans of League of Legends and have collaborated with Riot in the past. Their song Warriors was created for the League of Legends 2014 World Championship. This is probably why they got a cameo.

Jared aka Rabubbles

There is a League MMO in the works...so there is that if LoL isn't your jam!

proVaxxer

At an incredibly superficial level, Jinx and Tiny Tina are indeed "very similar". If you're looking at the most superficial level possible.

bushpusherr

I generally don't go for the charismatic "crazy/insane" characters in recent media because it always feels like they are trying way too hard to be edgy or humorous. Jinx is perhaps the only one I've actively enjoyed because she's portrayed as equally tragic as she is slick — and it all feels genuine because we see exactly how it develops. Tiny Tina on the other hand is perhaps one of my least favorite characters in all of video games. I personally find her insufferable. They certainly fit the same archetype but in terms of shallowness/depth of character, Tiny Tina is a puddle and Jinx is an ocean.

Jobbe Smit

Yeah I genuinely dislike the soundtrack of the show. That's of course just my opinion but it just doesn't work for me at all. But I fully accept some people love it. Can't argue taste can you? Personally I think something closer to electric swing would've been cool.
