Kill Bill Vol. 1 - Patreon Version

I want "Battle without Honor or Humanity" to play when my bride walks in for my wedding.

pinkdino99

Did you notice that half the crew was Asian ? How have you guys not done True Romance yet (Tarantino penned) ? Sonny Chiba (Hatori Hanzo) gets a nod in that with his Street Fighter movies.

Lannisen

Volume 1 and 2 could pretty much be considered the same film, it would just be too long. When volume 2 came, though, my local cinema had a double feature special so you could watch 1 and 2 immediately after. It was a great way to view it.

redddfer44

Tarantino wants only ten films because he doesn't want to be one of those directors whose last films suck (which is apparently a tendency). So he wants his last movie to be really good and not a old man's desperate fart (not his words).

pedantech

Unsubscribing, because I want George to start an OnlyFans.

Armchair Rizzard

George, I stopped watching the full reaction long enough to say this: getting shot in the head in real life is not 100% guaranteed death. Its only HIGHLY LIKELY that you'll die. I've heard you mention this in other full reactions and it bothered me enough to say something this time. It matters less that you're shot in the head, than it does by what ANGLE the bullet enters your brain. There are even people who've been shot in the face with a shotgun who survived. Its rare, but it happens.

Great reaction! This is my favorite Tarantino flick, being a huge fan of the old Japanese samurai films like "Zatoichi" and "Lone Wolf and Cub". George was right. The big katana fight scene went to black and white because the MPAA wanted to give the movie an NC-17 rating for violence. So, Tarantino resorted to switching to black and white to appease the ratings board, along with cutting the violence down a little. If you see the Japanese release of the movie, that scene is in full color with all the intended movie violence intact.

Eik104

"Hasn't changed her ringtone in 4 years?!" 😂😂

ChickensAreRacist

At the end when Ishii said ‘if you didn’t save your energy you’ll barely last 5 min’. I timed it this time, and from when that clapping music started to when the scalp was sliced, was exactly 5 min. Fun! Edit: spelling

Odd Thomas

My favourite Tarantino by far. 2 is just as good, but for different reasons.

David Guin

Kill Bill volumes 1&2 were originally meant to be one film (but it was too long). Get to Volume 2 soon for the closest to the experience Tarantino intended

NotlobParrot

This movie is now trending on HBOMax. That's the Cinebinge Bump, baby!

Daniel Popp

I hope you two watch “Death Proof” too. It is, in my opinion, Tarantinos most underrated gem of a movie. Kurt Russel is absolutely fantastic in it as a villain.

Mike Adams

One of my favorite movies with Lucy Liu is Shanghai Noon. It's goofy, but fun.

Mati D.

If you guys loves Tarantino, please watch The Hateful eight, my favorite.

Shawnyofthedead

I read somewhere that Vol 3 was going to be the little girls revenge against the bride killing her mum

Dee Aitch

I'm kinda amazed that George knows a 70's disco song. I honestly had no idea that music ("Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood / Esmeralda Suite") existed until the film, and I didn't recognize it as sounding anything like the Animals' version. Also, the idiom "fry an egg on your forehead" just means she's so filled with rage her forehead would be really really hot.

Sean

Having a George Onlyfans is the second worst idea since that guy who was giving out nude photos of Whoopi Goldberg.

Jimmy H

Jeez, and I was just thinking of having lunch, oh well, no appetite now.

AC10

..... I know someone with the same default ringtone for over 10 years!!! Literally the only ringtone they ever had from day one.

AC10

I vote we break tradition and do the sequel next week. The youtube version can be made public much later.

Jayson Phillips

Uma Thurman's daughter is on Stranger Things. Her and Ethan Hawks daughter.

Logan Kerlee

How have you both not seen these movies before? lmao, these are so awesome! I guess it's an age thing. I watched these while I was still in highschool. You're both in for a treat when you watch Volume 2! I am really looking forward to it. DON'T WAIT TO WATCH IT! hahahaha

AC10

Ok then... a little aggressive but you are agreeing

Logan Kerlee

At the end George said something about starting the next movie.. lol, are you both watching part two and not posting on here? :P

Chase Schleich

This really should have been a double feature. Rarely do movies require that, but Kill Bill does because it's actually just one movie split into 2 parts with many parts being out of order.

This film has a special nostalgia for me. As a wee young Tarantino fan it was so exciting to see “the 4th film” cause it was a while between this and Jackie Brown. So that tag was just full of hype. Unfortunately to me this film has become a form of contention since in my opinion after this is when Tarantino stopped being an exciting and interesting filmmaker to me. My fav Tarantino is Jackie Brown. And it always saddened me that he never really made another film like it. He became a genre guy that likes to over indulge. And Kill Bill is when it started. So this movie’s impact has lessened to me over time. But I enjoyed y’alls reaction and can’t wait to see Vol 2.

PIG

I never thought of that. I think I see what you're saying. He over specifies into throwback instead of making retro anew like in his old movies? Not sure if I agree or not, but I think what you wrote is worth considering.

JediLounger

George, I am not sure if you recognized the introduction of the master sword smith in Novigrad (Éibhear Hattori) from Wild Hunt. CDPR basically lifted his introduction scene and when Geralt sees the armory from this movie. In the movie he is Hattori Hanzō.

Scott Elsasser

Fantastic commentary! Just love that you guys watched this one. One of Tarantino's best IMO. (i'm totally down for you to watch Shaw Brothers films as well!)

EMB

Can't wait for part 2! I really enjoy part one because of my affinity for Japanese culture, language, and history. Part two departs from Japan a bit, but is still quite wonderful. Truly one of Tarantino's masterpieces. The style seems derivitive, but yet not. I seems to pay homage to old westerns and early Japanese cinema. It's quite wonderful.

Jim Frykman

Join me fellow Patrons! Once the Tarantino arch is complete it's Wes Anderson Time!

Opti_Frog

Tarantino's entire body of work is derivative, but that doesn't stop his films from being fun.

Jack Burton

George after sword is made: "We better get to see her use it" Me: "lol"

Jack Burton

It's not B&W because of ratings. I'm pretty sure QT wouldn't give a shit about that at all. It's a choice in the film making.

Grensor

Wher is AUSTIN POWERS: GOLDMEMBER?

Opti_Frog

Best part for me is Chiaki Kuriyama as Gogo. Tarantino cast her after seeing Battle Royale, a movie i'd love to see Cinebinge react to. 😊

Foodassassin4life

If you're considering more movies with Lucy Liu I'd suggest Lucky Number Slevin. It Stars Josh Hartnett (from Black Hawk Down), Lucy Liu, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley, and Stanley Tucci. Also consider The Count of Monte Cristo (2002)

Ruphus

Thank you! You two are so fun. You make watching all these old movies enjoyable to watch again. Best regards.

Thomas Yanez

Wonderful reaction. Can't wait for #2. Hope it is soon, as they are best seen together.

Steve Mercier

As spectacular as this movie is, Vol. 2 is even better.

Opti_Frog

If it was in my power i would have these two watch the full Grindhouse experience as it was in US cinemas in 2007. Planet Terror and Death Proof with all the fake trailers and previews intermissions.

Com1xguy

I loved watching that in the theatres so much. A really great experience for sure!

Zerocyde

No joke about the soundtrack either. My wife and I have had the soundtrack for Kill Bill and Oh Brother Where Art Thou on a burned CD in the family minivan since the movies came out. Best 2 soundtracks of all time.

Mazi

So what is the link to your onlyfans? ;)

Ana Fox

"We haven't seen some toes in a while. Let's get some toes in there" Quentin Tarantino, all the time 😂 LOVED the reaction! Had to get on patreon for this!

Duane B. Carl

I couldn't watch your edited reactions for this movie, simply because of all of the great music, and scenes. Yes the yellow outfit was a nod to Bruce Lee from Game of death movie. I grew up with the Shaw brothers, as well as all of the Asian Kung Fu movies from the 60's and 70's. So I followed this whole movie easily. Weather you choose to do reaction videos or not, one movie is a direct homage " Shogun Assassin" which is on the T.V. in KB2. A second movie which is non-stop violence is "The Villainess" a Korean revenge movie. I do enjoy your reactions, though sometimes I shake my head at your lack of knowledge, but I also realized being 61 yrs old, I grew up with all of the references in these movies that you and roughly 90% of the first time watching channels react to never saw..
