You MUST watch 'The Searchers' the greatest western of all time and one of the best movies of all time in general. No joke. It's fantastic.

Odd Thomas

The best Bill Paxton film is Twister. You guys definitely need to see it

Byron

He thought it was surprising and funny he died with his boots off. He always expected he’d be killed in a gunfight.

Grand Moff Slackin'

This needs to be a permanent look for both George and Simone.

Chr Har

When is dying. He looks at his feet. Laughs, because he didn't die with his boots on.

8bitAndy

I don't know why, but seeing Kurt Russell in this movie makes me really crave a Hateful Eight reaction.

Robert Cooper

Simone looks DISTURBINGLY like Kurt Russell there. Like, I would have known who that was without the label

Nick Parker

According to the movie poster: "One Of The Years 10 Best!"

Andrew

I'm your huckleberry.

Oscar Diggs

Kevin Costner’s Wyatt Earp is a self-indulgent, sprawling mess of a movie, but Dennis Quaid played Doc in a completely different way and was the best part of that movie, too. Two movies of varying quality, but two amazing portrayals of the same character.

Bridget

@Cinebinge, "Berry Gordy`s 'The Last Dragon(1985)'!!!"

Aidan Welton-Drake

Doc's last words "This is funny" after looking at his feet is explained by him always expecting to die with his boots on.

There are so few reactions to this classic. Lots of cringey 80s stuff, but so entertaining.

Grumpy_Chef

The should change the "Dead Eye" mode in Red Dead Redemption to "Flippy Flippy". At least that is what I will see and hear from now on.

Ken Schneyer

Doc Holliday is always the gem of any version of this story. There have been many films.

Ken Schneyer

It's possible to be quite accurate with a revolver, but it requires a slow, careful hand and eye. (It's much easier to be precise with a rifle, because the long barrel lends more accuracy.) In gunfighting of this particular type, shooting quickly was generally considered the way to win, and so accuracy was often sacrificed. Gunmen who could shoot both quickly and accurately were relatively rare.

Ken Schneyer

Tombstone was the third version of this story I saw. The second was The Gunfight at the O. K. Corral (Burt Lancaster as Wyatt, Kirk Douglas as Doc). The first, believe it or not, was an episode of Star Trek TOS, "Spectre of the Gun". (I believe there's also an episode of classic Doctor Who about this same set of events.)

Ken Schneyer

Of all the different versions, however, this one is the closest to the actual facts, especially the facts of that one gunfight. The events following the gunfight are hotly disputed. Wyatt's vendetta against the Cowboys, though real, was probably not as extensive or bloody as shown here.

BlueTrane

The shootout at the OK corral is a real event as was Earp's vengeance ride afterwards. A lot of the rest of it was Hollywood (or Hollywood indulging an unlikely theory for sake of a better story - such as Doc killing Ringo)., but still a classic.

BlackOpsElf

I have visited Tombstone many times. There is a historic section where stunt gun fights happen all the time.

As for the politics/legal nature of the gangs, county, etc, the mayor Beehan was typical of southwestern Democrat politicians at the time. All of his positions were definite conflicts of interest, but the remote nature of the west allowed for lawlessness and political manipulation. He was using the cowboys for financial gain, so he tried to use his position as County Sheriff to secure his investment. Its also why he deputized them as a form of legal mafia. The cowboys, outside of the KKK, where essentially the first terrorist organization in America. If you watch Young Guns, you will notice the same use of local/state legal assets to secure power illicitly.

Russ Verbofsky

Visit the real Tombstone, AZ; It's truly one haunted place

Rezblade

I think you guys would like “ Young Guns “

Rezblade

Doc saw that he died without his boots in a gun battle and you guys were awesome loved the reactions , thank you guys. Good night Simone, night George

Wyatt Nuxoll

This movie is how I got my name 🤣 hahaha , while watching this movie my parents were discussing baby names and my dad looked at my mom and said " one of our boys have to be named Wyatt

mojo shivers

My favorite Western-adjacent film. I still quote all the Doc Holiday lines because they’re so iconic. All the characters are so memorable. To think they’re all based on real people makes the story even more crazy because for the most part this is generally how this played out with some exaggeration for cinematic effect.
