The face that you watched this and The Exorcist on the same day is total insanity. Two horrifying movies in one day. lol

Imnot Acop

The creepiest part of this to me is that, at the end, The demon king Paimon is just as traumatized by all this shit as the rest of the family. Dude had a look like "Bro why...."

redddfer44

Shit. I'm scared as shit to watch this and I don't enjoy being afraid but I'm also really really curious...

MacGuffinStuff

Ah Christ, here we go again, fourth watch for me and I still kind of dread it lol. Actually, after the initial trauma, this movie is kind of genius. Ari Aster and Robert Eggers, man, they're killing it lately.

Śéáń

I *just* watched this last week, but I guess I need to watch it in full again. Solid horror, and Toni Collette is an absolutely masterful actor.

Prof. Writhms

Thanks to this movie, I can just send my sister a voice message with a single tongue click sound and she freaks out. 😁🎃

MacGuffinStuff

Toni Collette is incredible by the way, she had me feeling things I did not want to feel, but that was the assignment, and she killed it. And Gabriel Byrne's performance too, he's the quiet anchor of any semblance of normality in this and that contrast makes it all the more horrifying.

Ricardo Alanis

Love this movie. I watched in the theater and I remember the audience also in a “where is this going?” state until the seance and then the movie just takes a left turn and ratchets up but the slow burn and pervasive sense of dread is amazing. Toni Collete should’ve definitely won an Oscar for this. Glad you loved it and great reaction. Every time I watch it, I pick up on little clues/hints I never noticed before, especially the light /glimmer moving in different scenes. Midsommar is great but vastly different.

Maddie

I recommend watching an explanation video on YouTube after you finish this. They explain it really well!

AdNoctumLoki .

ok guys, ... i just love you 2, i´ve seen all these movies before but it´s a joy to watch them again along with you. You guys tickle my funny bone.

Jeff I.

So glad you enjoyed this one! It's a brilliant horror. You mentioned Midsommar, and I hope you get around to it. Ari did just as good of a job on it as he did on this one, I think. It's hard to beat Toni's performance here for a horror lead, but Florence Pugh gives an excellent one of her own as the lead in Midsommar.

Martin

Just sayin’…if you guys enjoyed this one, you’ve got a little more than a week left to squeeze in another horror movie . Midsommar awaits.

Odd Thomas

Please watch Malignant - one of the best horrors of recent years imo

JWheezy

Awesome reaction! Couldn’t ask for more! Can I have more?

Alfredo Topete Escamilla

Anything from A24 is super worth watching. They have revived my interest in horror. Specially Ari Aster's movies. He is setting the precedent to finally start moving on from that cheesy jumpscare-reliant horror that dominated last decade. Anyway, very fun reaction guys!

Alfredo Topete Escamilla

About the decapitation theme; in my opinion decapitation was a way to release Paimon from the host body he was in. Happened to Charlie and happened to Annie when they were possessed by Paimon. And about the lighting their kids on fire; I think she was unconsciously trying to spare them the pain they were going to go through. Like she somehow knew they were doomed.

Jeff I.

Also, another great A24 horror movie is Men, which came out earlier this year. It's brilliantly creepy.

Persnickity

Oh man what a movie!! So much subtlety. There were a few times I saw something in the corner/background and they didnt see it.

Thomas Yanez

I love how wrong their guesses are sometimes. In general, I think that's one of my favorite aspects of any reactor that tries to guess a movie before they watch it.

Odd Thomas

Definitely watch Midsommar, it's every bit as creepy as Hereditary, though not in such a boo-scary way

Thomas Yanez

George *on meeting Joan*: Okay. She needs somebody like that. Me : *giggles the same way I did when Simone and George met the dog in "The Thing"*

Thomas Yanez

So many reactors miss the mom up on the wall the first time, but when George made the comment earlier about people without good color balance missing things in the dark, I hoped they'd see it... but, nope. Like most reactors, they missed it. It gets SUCH a great reaction if the reactor sees it, unfortunately few do.

Thomas Yanez

I don't know if it is something you'd do, but this is one of those movies that pays to watch a second time so that you can pay more attention to the environment and other stuff y'all missed the first time around.

Jack Burton

This is one of those movies that you need to see another time so you can catch all the little things you missed or dismissed the first time.

Tyler Foster

Apparently you two need to see Knives Out leading up to the sequel, as Toni Collette is in that.

JayF

This one earns a solid "meh" for me. I don't jump scare and this entire movie relied on jump scares. As it was for Clockwork Orange, your reaction was more entertaining than the movie for me. You got me through it.

Tyler Foster

Also, I think this is out of sync by a second or so. There were a couple of times where, even though my picture and your PIP silhouette were in sync, Simone jumped before the scares happened, namely the tongue click Toni Collette hears in the car, and the part where the hands grab the Nat Wolff's head in the bed.

JoeySnowyNoey

Love this movie! Ari Aster is a fucking madman. Lol this movie is so raw and just so intense! I actually had to watch this movie twice the first time because I couldn't watch the whole thing the first time because I was so uneasy! There are some newer horror movies that I feel like are just changing the game when it comes to horror and movies in general, and this is one of those!

redddfer44

Man, I watched the beginning of the YT edit and was so impressed by Aster's style right in the first shot that I went out and rented it. I was scared shitless at times and had to sleep in between, but man, this is one of the _very_ few movies where I enjoy being afraid. (The Shining, Jacob's Ladder, The Lost Highway being the others.) I really wanna see Midsommar now. More in YT comments! Gotta keep the algorithms happy.

Lannisen

I really hope you watch Midsommar as well. It doesn't scare me, cause I'm Swedish, but I also love it and want everyone to see it, cause I'm Swedish.

Noe Ramirez

Midsommar is one of my favorite movies! Idk if I'm just fucked in the head but I've watched that movie like a thousand times now. Lol
