Davy Jones' organ playing is my favorite part of the movie. If you had 20-25 tentacles, wouldn't you like to play songs no one human could? A word on the kraken: The word "krake" is old Norse, surviving more or less intact in most Scandinavian language. Means poor one, frail one, feeble one, small one, unfortunate one. The plural would be "krakar." The -n suffix is a definite article, like "the" in English. It's always only been the name of a singularly huge, invincible, mysterious and terrible sea monster, probably inspired by one of those classes of giant squid we have not yet proved exist but only found evidence of in sucker marks found on whales. You can tell it's more modern than the old Norse god stories because the northmen back then didn't know squids or octopuses existed and made the Midgard serpent the ultimate sea monster. And I would say the ending, where Jack faces down the kraken, stays easily in the top five moments of any work of fiction I've ever seen, played, heard or read, ever. Just leaping into the maw of doom because ol' Jack doesn't care about living or dying but he cares about what makes a great story.

The guy that mentioned seeing the ship and dropping off Will said he trades spices for Long Pork. Long Pork/Long Pig is another name for human meat

oh fuck off with your condescending shit. if someone has never seen a movie, then they wouldnt know theres a post credit, and unlike watching in a theatre or at home, these two also gotta do the show itself.

By tradition somebody in these comments will propose Master & Commander to watch. Today that one is me.

Yes, the compass points to what you want at the moment. According to the director, Disney honchos wanted to go the whole "thing your heart desires most" direction, and they had to fight that idea off because these are pirates, they only care about what they want right now. The area around Tia Dalma's hut is based on the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland, which the pirate boats float past on the way to the ride.

I hope you guys watch ALL Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I want to hear what you guys think in general about what changed and what not.

What? Granny Smith's are my favorite apples (then again I don't really like apples, hate Red Delicious, what a marketing ploy), also, very good with peanut butter. Naomie Harris was almost unrecognizable, and weirdly hot as a creepy witch lady. And someone mentioned it already but her swamp hut was definitely based on the ride, which was always my favorite at Disneyland when I was a kid, not necessarily the best but just my favorite, I Iove when they reference the ride.

Not #1 favorite, but I definitely get in moods where it is my preferred apple for a while.

Really enjoyed the reaction, hope you'll do World's End soon :) small hint: this is not tagged as "Film Reacts" or "Patreon Version". I mostly select "Patreon Version" to find the exclusives and almost overlooked this.

I appreciate that George says my last name correctly every time. Not a lot of people do so thanks George!
