Zen Reacts

Ill be very disappointed if Breakfast Club doesnt win

Karin Baggie

Can you add Little Women (2019) to a future poll? ;)

Paul Cox

Always gonna vote for some John Hughes jams, but I'd love to start seeing channels (this one in particular!) react to Jennifer's Body, so I voted for it too.

Eioghorain My Heart

If you ever go for a more childhood theme, if you haven't watched The Sandlot, please consider incorporating that into possible reaction lists

The Fool

If Breakfast Club and American Pie aren't the resounding winners of this poll we as fans have failed and should be ashamed.

redddfer44

Breakfast Club is my fave 80s teen movie. Jennifer's Body is my fave "which movie that has a low rating on IMDB do you honestly, unironically love" movie (and the one that broke my faith in the IMDB ratings).

Ashcroft Production-House

Jen's Body really is one of the funner and insane lgbt+ ( specifically Bisexual ) horror films put out in a while.

Erwin Quiachon

A poll for teen movies, but not romantic comedies? Seems creepy.

TD

Can you add the comedy movie Super Troopers to a poll?

JayF

Had to go with two of the biggest hits from back in my day in FBDO and The Breakfast Club. Other teen movies for future consideration - Dazed and Confused Better Off Dead Weird Science Teen Wolf

beefjerkywizard

Not many American Pie reactions out there. Great choice

Onikaze

might be neat to do a John Hughes run

Adam Wetstein

Please not FDF i hate Hughes privileged white kids films.

Brendan Rafferty

Hated the Breakfast Club. Bunch of rich kids sitting around, depressed and sharing their trauma... which all turns out to be petty nonsense about pressure to succeed And as an insult to women everywhere... the loner gothy chick... well all she needed was a pretty makeover to turn her life around

E.P.B.F.

Okay, with the possible exception of Jennifer's Body, which while it has teens in it is really more horror than teen movie, all solid choices, but given the list you, or at least i, have to go with Ferris and Breakfast Club. It's not even a contest, John Hughes was just that foundational an influence on the genre. Personally i might have added: - Rebel Without a Cause (arguably the movie who started it all), - Sixteen Candles ( another Hughes 80ies classic of the genre) and - Not Another Teenmovie ( for ALL of the tropes, and Heath Ledger before he got Serious.) to the Poll. Another time perhaps.

michael clarke

i voted jennifers body. for sure the most entertaining movie on this list, but theres just too many classics. cant argue that seeing them isnt a priority.

Jack Burton

As long as it's John Hughes I'll watch it.

Paul Cox

Jennifer's Body looks like it's doomed here, but maybe at some point you can do a horror-ish/sci-fi teen theme and react to The Faculty (1998) as well.

Kameron Webb

Damn I really hope The Perks of Being a Wallflower make it on a poll soon!

Alan Kobb

Beuller.....Beuller....Beuller....

Jon B

The Spectacular Now is another good teenage movie with Shailene Woodley.

Thomas Yanez

Huh. After reading the posts here I had to go look up "Jennifer's Body" because the movie that I had associated with that name in my mind did not seem to match up with what I was reading. Seems I've had it mistaken in my head for "The Autopsy of Jane Doe". So, since I've never actually seen "Jennifer's Body", and it sounds interesting, I'm going to switch my vote to that.

Ken Myers

Ugg, hate Ferris Buellers Day Off sooooo much. He is literally the embodiment of everything wrong in movies, a hero who does not earn anything but is handed everything, takes advantage of those around him. When he forced his sick friend to steal his father's Ferrari so they could joy ride around, and then FERRIS is the one who gets to drive, WTF? Why isn't the friend driving his own father's car? And it was all so Ferris could use the car to get his girlfriend out of school for the day so his "best friend" can just hang out as a third wheel battling his sickness...it's all the most selfish and manipulative behavior, and Ferris gets rewarded for it. And the only ones who call him on his bullshit -- his sister and the principal who, as it turns out, are 100% correct that he's faking/lying -- are the "villains" who get punished horribly for daring to oppose Ferris. I see zero redeeming qualities in this. It just shows Ferris going around doing stunts that would NEVER work in real life, and getting away with it, or getting rewarded for it, manipulating those around him for his own selfish pleasure and ego gratification. Is it just that so many people fantasize about living a consequence-free life where you are rewarded without having to do shit to earn it? I really don't get the appeal. In fact, I think it's a really bad sign for society that so many people actually like this movie... is it a lack of morals? a lack of integrity? a lack of critical thinking skills? are people so easy to please, if you simply tell them this guy is the lead in the movie, and then shower that lead with rewards set to music, people will cheer without questioning the moral underpinnings of what is happening in the story?

HeyHeyJK

Hey, where's "Valley Girl"? I vote for that one.

Florian

If not jet seen here I would like recommend Juno and 10 things I hate about you for this category.

Kyle Baker

Wow one of these movies is not like the others...

Brian Hakala

Can’t go wrong with either breakfast club or Ferris Bueller.

micah

pitch perfect is so good hahaha hopefully that comes in the rotation again soon

James Whalen

American Pie, too many reactions of Breakfast Club and Ferris. Honestly they should watch all 3. Each one was a breakthrough movie.

Travis H

This is probably the first poll where I at least really like all the movies available, you can’t go wrong with any of these (pitch perfect is a musical so that would be difficult to edit though). Legally Blonde is my favorite of the bunch, but since neither of you have seen Breakfast Club/Ferris Bueller that needs to be fixed! To add to the next Teen poll I would suggest Princess Diaries, Neighbors, Juno, Lady Bird, Love Simon, Iron Giant, and Almost Famous. I would also like to see Hairspray but it would be a absolute nightmare to edit and would get demonitized immediately.

Tyler Foster

I wish there were a way to make these polls more competitive using better curating, but since Simone and George haven't seen them, that's hard to accomplish.

Spooky Dooky

Please consider K-Pax to watch! You can put it in the Mental Health movie poll

Skarr

oh, you should have watched Jennifer's Body for Halloween season. The 3 in the lead are pretty classic, but Jennifer's Body was mis-sold and has been under-appreciated because it stars Megan Fox. Fortunately recently it has been re-appraised as a great comedy-horror.

Skarr

I'd add to the next poll, Cruel Intentions, Heathers, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High,

Dee Aitch

Watching Breakfast Club before Easy A makes sense, as you might as well experience the original before you watch the love letter to it.

Kinokind

Oh, come on! Valley Girl, Clueless, Better Off Dead, Real Genius. . .

Rachel W

I'd add "Risky Business"(1983)! It's a film that I almost forget is a teenage movie because it's so good, so well made. And it made Tom Cruise a star. And haven't seen it mentioned yet-- Over The Edge(1979). Great film, although not a comedy like Risky Business and most teen genre films. And has a killer soundtrack. My runner up pick is The Last American Virgin. The ending is epic--truly ballsy and realistic.

Chase Schleich

Breakfast Club is a classic, but I don't think it would make a good reaction video. American Pie, Jennifer's Body and Ferris Bueller are the 3 on this list that would make good reaction content, especially American Pie because of all the crazy shit that happens in it and the fact that there's multiple sequels that could be added to the watch list somewhere down the line.

Erwin Quiachon

All teen movies can be cringy because it is an awkward time in life, but "Risky Business" (1983) and "The Outsiders" (1983) have become stunning examples of the incredible range that Tom Cruise had when he was very young. The Outsiders may still be the only movie where we see Cruise's chipped front tooth only because Francis Ford Coppola was able to convince him to remove the cap for his role.

MacGuffinStuff

Hoping they watch both Ferris and Breakfast Club; but somebody mentioned for future polls: HEATHERS. It's like a 90s anti "teen movie" teen movie. That movie is scary prescient though, kind of darkly so. Willing to bet Tina Fey was at least slightly inspired by it when she wrote "Mean Girls".

Dooly

Can’t stand John Hughes’ highschool films. They are so of their time that they are hard to watch. Don’t get the appeal of Ferris Bueller either.

Justin Wolford

Not trying to age shame but you can tell the age bracket of the majority of patrons here when pitch perfect is hands down the best movie on this list but the two 80's flicks are getting all the love. I have noticed this on other polls as well. Lots of love for the classics from the senior citizens in our group, lol. I'm just teasing and sharing my personal observation. I aint no spring chicken myself, lol.

Paul Cox

Part of the reason the Hughes movies continue to resonate is that Hollywood took basically the entire 1970s off from making anything teen-oriented, and when they started again in the early 80s they were greenlighting raunchy work like Porky's and Zapped. Hughes's more "elevated" approach to teen themes was a big deal at the time. They're certainly not without problems in retrospect—like the Asian caricature and rape in Sixteen Candles and general objectification in Weird Science—but the writing and acting was so fresh.

Ken Myers

For 80s teen movies, the best are "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (which you might have already done?), "16 Candles," "Pretty in Pink," "Better off Dead," "Weird Science," and "Three O'Clock High." For later teen movies, my favorites are "10 Things I Hate About You," "Clueless," "Superbad," and "Cruel Intentions." I note none of these teen movies are included in your poll, alas. "The Breakfast Club" is pretty iconic, so that probably should be on the list. But "American Pie" is not so much a teen comedy as a raunchy sex comedy ala Animal House, Porky's, etc., which, even if it has teens in it, is still a distinct genre.

Jonathan Ly

I'd only suggest Jennifer's Body for a cringy good time lol

James Whalen

Simone and George need to watch the top 3.

Jon B

Easy A is the only movie I like in this list, but it's more fun if both Simone and George hasn't seen the movie.

Richard Powers Hardt

You must add Cant Buy Me Love to your next mix, one of the highest rated but underknown great teen movies.

Robert Mendoza

Oh wow you guys haven't seen American pie? Please check that out even if it loses.

redddfer44

Well, I hope I like the Coming to America rewatch because the polls just haven't been going my way as of late and neither will this :D

Jay Davis

I can't reasonably imagine how anyone could go through life without having seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off or Real Genius... so I guess what I'm saying is you have to watch Real Genius next. It's a moral imperative.

nossieboy

Surprised Pitch Perfect is so low. Best comedy of 2012. Breakfast Club is amazing though

john paul

Next Poll: Mysteries and Conspiracies 1. JFK (1991) 2. Shutter Island(2010) 3. Enemy of the state(1998) 4. Minority Report (2002) 5. Kill The Messenger (2014)

redddfer44

Oh, mysteries! What a great poll idea.

Deserana12

If you’re gonna do mysteries pleeeeeeeease do Memento or The Prestige

Robert Cooper

This list is tragically missing "Heathers".

Rezblade

Hmm I can’t vote ?
