Until then, here is this week's poll with some of the movies suggested by you guys!

Remember, you can vote for multiple films!

Reminder: movies that don't win does not mean they will never be watched, it just means they will be watched later. Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies :)

Labyrinth was the quick and easy sexual orientation checker for those of us in the 80s

redddfer44

Jennifer Connelly vs Phoebe Cates vs running out of bubblegum... Hmmm........

The Fool

I don't even like some of these movies but all of them are must-sees.

Wormtongue

Never quite understood all the love that The Goonies get... but to each their own

Theoshin

I know it wont win, but man Jim Henson's Labyrinth is special to me in many ways.

Sam Fuller

So many good choices

Onikaze

I guess you could maybe start a head cannon that The Goonies helped Data be prepared for dealing with Jobu Tapaki ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. seems like an odd grouping. Field of dreams is kind of... a drama? and not what I would consider "quintessentially 80's" , They Live is more sci-fi-ish , Fast times is a "raunchy comedy" in line with Meatballs, Caddyshack, or Bachelor Party. the rest kind of have the same target audience.

Balmung

wow field of dreams doesn't seem like it belongs here AT ALL. Does anyone actually like it who has seen it in the last 10 years? I feel like the movie has ONE memorable line that gets misquoted and that's it. This isn't me trolling, I genuinely don't know anyone who likes that movie. I'm not from a country where baseball is played at all, but if that was the only explanation, people also wouldn't like A League of Their Own, and people actually love that one. Genuinely curious.

Jeromy M

Goonies and Karate Kid have been done to death by other content creators. I'd love to see The Never-ending Story or Labyrinth get the time they deserve.

JayF

Aside from The Neverending Story, which I just never got into, I'd recommend all of these for a reaction. The Goonies is a great choice and looks like it will win. The two I'm voting for though are Labyrinth and Field of Dreams. Labyrinth has all the things (muppets, David Bowie, music, acid trip effects, farts). Field of Dreams is...well first of all it's not a sports movie. You don't have to know anything about baseball to enjoy it. It's special and will give you all the feels. I doubt it will win a poll on your channel but I will fanboy it in hopes that you'll watch it anyway. Popcorn in Bed reacted to it and it has over 200k views on YT. So there's your incentive.

Mike C

The Neverending Story is probably the most allegorical of these movies, in a very powerful way. Labyrinth has amazing puppetry and a wonderfully weird story. Two other options in the vein, for a future poll, would be Time Bandits and The Dark Crystal.

Mike C

I'll also say, as an 80s kid who took up karate, and continued because of the movie, The Karate Kid is fun, but a little light anything surprising. It is a very well-done, and exceedingly straightforward, 80s young adult film.

Byron

As somebody that didn’t see The Goonies until later in life, who has no nostalgia tied up in it … it was hard to see what the fuss was about.

Jay Davis

Looking over this list, it's clear to me that we have a mission... to make ALL of them tie. Won't be easy. But there just isn't one on here that shouldn't be watched. Oh well. Let's get to work!

Kinokind

Wow, what a sweeping selection! Teen comedy, fantasy, sci-fi, tween adventure. . . apples, oranges, bananas. . . Goonies is OK, but I, too was an adult when it came out, and, although I like the adventure of it, those smart-ass Spielberg-style kids get on my nerves sometimes. Not the actors, but the way their characters are written and directed. The same with Monster Squad and others of the era.

St. Amb

I just watched a reaction to a movie no one reacts to and is my favorite John Carpenter movie, which considering his filmography is saying something. The movie is Christine 1983 and this is prime Carpenter based on a Stephen King novel and featuring mind blowing practical effects not in the way you would imagine...

Haye Zeus

Voting for everything except Goonies.

Bryce Lamkin

Damn, a lot of good ones here

Martin

1 vote for Phoebe Cates…err, I mean Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

mojo shivers

If Goonies doesn’t win this poll I’ll be shocked. Otherwise, this is an amazing selection of films to select from. If these were bottles of bourbon, I’d consider them the top shelf “good stuff” you save for the most special of special occasions or for foreign dignitaries visiting. Good job.

Nick Scholz

There are a lot of great movies on this poll.

Steven Cavanagh

you might enjoy the Tom Cruise movie Legend with Tim curry, it fits this category

HeyHeyJK

I vote for "Valley Girl". And I'll keep voting for it until I die (as far as eightes films go). I also think they would love "Stand by Me", another of the absolute best Stephen King adaptations directed by Rob Reiner (who did one of the other great SK adaptations with "Misery"), but a non-horror story with such a great young cast.

Alan Kobb

It's a sad statement on today's culture when Fast Times at Ridgemount High is losing so badly.

Opti_Frog

Will our species ever live in a world where They Live is not topical?

overdev

Labyrinth, one of my favorite movies, watched it as a child 100 times. I didnt know the beginning of the movie at all cause my parents recorded it from tv on VHS :D

Grumples

Labyrinth is only in third?! You monsters. #stopthecount

Brian Hakala

Voted for They Live. It’s like a movie length twilight zone episode plus Roddy Piper does a great job being Roddy Piper haha would love to see this reaction!

Raymond DeGraw

Would love to see your reaction to... Secondhand Lions Braveheart Falling Down Who's that Girl 187

Rob Parry

Pretty good list two other movies I would add from the 80s for the future would be Stand by Me and Clue

Mikebdrx

These are all great movies. Watch them all lol

Tyler Foster

Nothing against The Goonies, Karate Kid, or Labyrinth but I wish they'd have been givens so that the other movies on this poll had more of a fighting chance. Goonies especially...that's the kind of movie that makes me frustrated with the poll system. Not that you guys would know that, but I could've told you before anyone had voted that none of the other movies stood a chance.

Ken Myers

These all have numerous reactions. We really do NOT need ANOTHER reaction to the Goonies. It's just not that good a movie. There are a lot of great 80s movies for which there are still ZERO reactions. I request you at least sometimes do a "zero reaction" list where you let us pick from movies for which there are currently no reactions. I have a list of some of these, and many of them are from the 80s: Next (Nicolas Cage sci-fi) Limitless (Bradley Cooper sci-fi) Push (Chris Evans / Dakota Fanning sci-fi) Crank (Jason Statham action) About a Boy (brilliant Hugh Grant comedy) Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (Andy Garcia & all star cast, crime drama) Sense & Sensibility (Hugh Grant / Emma Thompson / Kate Winslet romance period piece) The Legend of 1900 (Tim Roth, sweeping period piece / fable) Human Nature (surreal Charlie Kaufman comedic drama starring Tim Robbins, Patricia Arquette) Real Men (James Belushi, John Ritter 80s comedy thriller) Year One (Jack Black, Michael Cera comedy) Go (brilliant slice of life comedy) I Heart Huckabees (Mark Walberg, Dustin Hoffman, surreal comedy) Sweet and Lowdown (Sean Penn stars in Woody Allen comedy/mockumentary about depression-era jazz guitarist) Diggstown (James Woods 90s boxing thriller) A River Runs Through It (Brad Pitt drama/period piece) Four Rooms (Quentin Tarantino comedy starring Tim Roth; outragous, artsy, funny & a bit horrific, great cameos) The Black Hole (cult classic Disney 80s horror sci-fi) Cat's Eye (Stephen King star-studded 80s horror anthology) Dreamscape (Dennis Quaid 80s sci-fi) Best Seller (James Woods, Brian Dennehy crime/suspense, very cool, very 80s) Sphere (Dustin Hoffman / Samuel L. Jackson / Sharon Stone, based on Michael Crichton novel, underrated sci-fi) FAQ About Time Travel (2009 British sci-fi comedy, underrated) Night of the Comet (80s horror / apocalypse that is surprisingly good, cult classic b-movie) For Love of the Game (Kevin Coster baseball movie) Stuck on You (Matt Damon / Greg Kinnear buddy comedy) Silent Movie (underrated Mel Brooks comedy, one of his top 5 funniest movies) Cheap Detective (Neil Simon ensemble comedy) Twenty Bucks (Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, WIlliam H. Macy, Elisabeth Shue and others, artsy/indie) The Number 23 (Jim Carrey thriller/horror) Land of the Lost (Will Ferrell, Danny McBride comedy) Cowboys and Aliens (underrated sci-fi-western with Daniel Craig & Harrison Ford) If Looks Could Kill (1991 underrated spy comedy starring Richard Grieco) Rustler's Rhapsody (Tom Berenger, underrated 80s comedy western) the Boyfriend School (aka Don't Tell Her It's Me) (1990 Steve Guttenberg, underrated romantic comedy) Taps (young Timothy Hutton, Tom Cruise, and Sean Penn; George C. Scott in early 80s military school drama) 200 Cigarettes (Ben Affleck, Dave Chapelle, Paul Rudd, Courtney Love, and more) Heat (1986 action movie starring Burt Reynolds, not to be confused with 1995 movie of same name) Three O'Clock High (underrated 80s high school comedy) Cocoon (iconic Steve Guttenberg 80s sci-fi) Virtuosity (Denzel Washington plus young Russell Crowe, sci-fi thriller) Vampire's Kiss (early Nicolas Cage movie, 80s artsy/indie vibe) Lawnmower Man (Pierce Brosnan & Jeff Fahey in sci-fi horror) The Man with Two Brains (Steve Martin 80s comedy-horror)

Chase Schleich

WTF! They Live is the only choice here. Great fuckin movie, especially for a first time reaction video.

Tom H

They Live is the correct answer and anyone who votes for it should get 10 points. Those who vote for anything else clearly had their head fall in the cheese dip back in 1957.

Kocyte

I'm pretty sure the correct answer is actually Labyrinth. Though all those movies are great.

Davide

I voted: The Goonies, Fields of Dreams and They Live. Other films I suggest are The Prestige, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Last of Mohicans, Annihilation, Dunkirk, Prisoners, Training Day.

Walter White

Please do both the goonies and the karate kid!!🙏🏼🙏🏼

Ben

Voted for The Goonies and Labyrinth ... then later took away my vote for The Goonies because it clearly has a very big advantage! I would be happy to see them react to it, but it is too obvious a winner.

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

oh wow.. every single one of these are incredible films for their own reasons.. you kind of have to do all of these ..

Rob Church

Voted Labyrinth and Neverending Story. Got an itch for some of that 80's fantasy weirdness.

Dooly

No respect for Fast Times. 🙁

redddfer44

Damn, Fast Times is an excellent high school movie. Where’s the love. Sad.

Logan Kerlee

As a guy that grew up in the Pacific Northwest, Goonies has my vote automatically!! That movie's incredible and I'm always down to watch it. I'd love to see a reaction for it as well. :) <3

michael clarke

i usually try to only vote once, but couldnt this time. holy shit labyrinth, holy shit neverending story, holy shit they live.

Bridget

"BERRY GORDY`S `THE LAST DRAGON'(1985)!!!"

Steve

I just watched Crocodile Dundee. My workmate is recommending all these 80s films. It was pretty great, some parts did reflect the time tho.

Travis H

Sorry to the other (great) movies, but I have to go all in on The Goonies! You two may want to do Knives Out soon, it’s sequel Glass Onion is coming to Netflix next month and will probably get views, and it’s a great movie. For the next poll I am recommending Eternal Sunshine, Paddington, Game Night, and Pineapple Express (purely recommending PE so you can watch “This Is The End “)

Carl Whitted

All great choices! If i may suggest one, Stand By Me is a great movie from the 80s. You guys should check it out.

Andrew S

The Goonies needs to win great movie, Please watch Hot Rod (2007) its a great comedy movie lots laughs trust me great movie, Also if you ever watch Pineapple Express George needs to smoke or eat edibles before hand 😉 , and please watch The Iron Giant soon, you should have watched it before Ready Player One

Jeff K.

Honestly you should do every one of these movies.

John DelVecchio

I think you would really enjoy the story of Field of Dreams.

Rachel W

Please add "Raising Arizona"(1987). I beg of you. Another great 80's film--psychological horror film "Angel Heart"(1987) starring Robert DeNiro and Micky Rourke. And, 1983's, "Risky Business", the film that made Tom Cruise a star.

James Cain

I’m an 80s kid and I know I’m in the minority, but I hated the Goonies.

Kieran Ellis

In Bruges is definitely worth a watch at some point, has great humour and a fantastic cast

Long-time Sci-Fi Enthusiast

Suggestions for future 1980`s poll. Please consider Wargames 1983 & Flight of the Navigator 1986. Both are in the Sci-Fi genre.

Jomero

If you ever plan on watching Cobra Kai (for reactions, or just for personal recreation) then watching the Karate Kid movies is practically a must. That show is a fan love letter (and respectful and reverent at that, oddly enough) to those movies.

Helly R

You guys should watch Das Boot (1980) Director's Cut

MacGuffinStuff

ALL. Honestly just watch them all, you'll like them all I'm pretty sure, and they're so thick with later cultural references, Easter egg hunt.

Vincent

Fast Times would've been a very fun watch. Oh well.

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

All of these are classics.. its almost unfair to pick one and shaddow over the others.. I would have evven added Rudy on here.. Thats a must watch movie..along with Almost Famous too

Logan Kerlee

Stoked to see The Goonies leading! Movie's a classic that in my book is a necessary watch, 100%.

Michael Bourke

I actually hope they watch all of these eventually, so much eighties goodness.

Luis Torrefranca

“David Bowie’s Codpiece: A Documentary”

Jay Davis

I have come here to chew bubblegum and sweep the leg, Johnny. Because, if you build it, they will wax on wax off. And, as we all know, Goonies never say it's only forever, not long at all. Learn it. Know it. Live it.

Nicodemus Archleone

Beverly Hills Cop would be worth a look. Peak 80's Eddie Murphy.

Steven Cavanagh

how did the Neverending Story not get more Votes,

Reiji Kobayashi

First thought on seeing the poll: You haven't watched those movies? Ever?? Really??? Second thought: I feel so ooooooollldd . . .

Rory cornetto

If you’re doing oddly toned 80’s children movies, I would love to suggest Terry Gilliam’s the adventures of Baron munchausen …
