As Simone is going on a vacation over the holidays, we will be pre-shooting some content so this will be the LAST POLL OF THE YEAR. The top 3 winners of this poll will be counted as if its the winners of the next 3 polls. The 3 movies will be released on the Saturday of the 24th, 31st and Jan 7th. With this upcoming Saturday the 17th being last weeks winner, Oceans Eleven. Polls will return on January 9th, 2023.

bunch of good ones here. I wonder if there is a way to set up ranked choice as a way to set weights a bit. Much like robocop, total recall and Starship Troopers I think The Running Man has some pretty accurate and scathing commentary that was laughed at then drifted towards way way too much. For me, the main reason to watch twister would be to have a conversation on Silicon Graphics and an alt timeline where they released a laptop line :P. The Shining is almost a right of passage for reactors and def needed so you can appreciate Ready Player One more :) I guess I'll use this to get around to suggesting some movies that I have been hoping to see but have been largely ignored. Miller's Crossing Miller's Crossing Miller's Crossing. I would argue the better gangster style movie in its year of release with one of the most beautiful soundtracks and cinematography combos one might find.

Spinal tap and Shining obviously on every cinephile's must-see list. Paul is the funniest sci-fi nerd comedy ever made (and the unofficial bastard cousin of The Cornetto Trilogy). I like some of the others, too, but they're not in the same league. Every band touring used to have a copy of Spinal Tap on their bus! And Paul! Simon Peg and Nick Frost? C'mon!

Some great movies here, but I cannot help but notice they have been done many times by reactors. I mean, I understand some movies are "must react" like the Shining. But there are so many movies as good or better than, say, Running Man or Paul. Some examples are Sense & Sensibility, About a Boy, A River Runs Through It, Cider House Rules, Limitless, Go, I Heart Huckabees, to name a few. Please add more "zero reaction" movies to your polls, or consider doing a poll specifically for movies as to which no one else has yet reacted. Thx!

FWIW if you have seen The Simpson's parody of The Shining then you have seen the movie. Kubrick has great direction, and the images composed in the movie frames are pretty, but ends up padding the run time. (Doesn't stop the film being hilarious, but it is a long wait between punchlines).

There are a few good/great movies on the list, but honestly I’m not overly excited to watch a reaction to any of these movies. I went with Shining/Spinal Tap. Shining will be good, and Spinal Tap will probably lead to Waiting for Guffman/Best in Show. The Knives Out/Glass Onion comment from last week still stands. And I will go back to recommending Eternal Sunshine, Paddington, Game Night, and Pineapple Express (so you can watch This Is The End after)!

I'll just quickly note that The Shining has an international version that is 25 minutes shorter than the one most Americans are familiar with. I assume that's the one they will be watching (being in Canada), though I would suggest the American version, since it has more depth and character background IMO. The trimmed down international version feels less nuanced.

Out of this list I'd really love it if The Running Man, Paul and Lock, Stock could win as they're all really fun films. And if Lock, Stock then led on to Simone and George watching The Gentlemen then I'd be very happy. Sadly I don't think they will.

2026-09-17 05:00 Ugh, please no one vote for Captain Phillips. That movie glorifies a man who put his crew in jeopardy by purposefully going through pirate waters against the crews wishes. He was trying to save money by shortening the route.

Re: the different versions of The Shining (no spoilers). The US cut is significantly longer and by far the most common one these days, even internationally I think. So it's the safest version to react to. If you like it, however, I suggest that on your own time you try the shorter, leaner, more intense cut if you can find it.

It's not gonna make it to the winner's circle on this poll, but you should watch "Lock, Stock..." at some point. You guys liked "Snatch" and it's kinda more of the same. But less slick. Between the two, I kind of prefer it.

Wow I expected Spinal Tap to do better...if you guys like live music I recommend it regardless of polls. Same with Wayne's World; I feel like Youtubers can connect with this older movie surprisingly well, and you guys do seem to like Mike Myers. Lastly, and I'll say this every comment I make - you should really watch The Venture Brothers! It's perfect for you two.
