Seeing this film in theaters as a kid was a transcendent experience

Steve Bennett

Pretty sure the frat boys sued him. I think one specified that he had trouble getting employed.

Matt O'Keefe

George most everybody expect Pamela Anderson, and actors playing Azamat and Luenell had no idea what would be involved or said before filming. All they were asked was to sign a release form that said they would not sue. Craziness.

Asian Boss did a video on what Kazakstani people think of Borat. It's worth a watch if you're interested in how accurate, if at all, the movie's depiction of the country is.

“Very nice. How much?” is still a classic scene. Lol

Simone mentioned watching someone drink toilet water on Dropout; if she's referring to an episode of Game Changer, she can take solace in the fact that the toilet was not (and never had been) hooked up to any actual plumbing, or used as a toilet. It was actually filled with bottled water, and everyone knew that except for the guy who drank some.

Magnificent Gojira

They filmed in Romania, if I'm not mistaken. No, it doesn't look like Kazakhstan.

David Melo

Its admirable how brave Baron Cohen is for a bit. In his follow up movie "Bruno" which follows the format of this one, there's a certain scene in a fighting ring where things got pretty close to dangerous and led to accusations of inciting a riot.

Jobbe Smit

Oh man this is worth the price of patreon alone. As always a really solid movie. You two might also enjoy New Kids. Movie about a bunch of Dutch white trash youths. Similar level of maturity...

Martin

Have to admit, I was very worried about what the thumbnail for this one would be.

Nick Sneddon

for me, this is up there with Team America as not just funny - but stomach achingly hilarious. Its just outrageously good

Brandon Meng

That reaction was just ... soooo sooo so good. This movie was like a movement when it first came out. Everyone talked about it, couldn't believe how outrageous it was. Sacha Baron Cohen even won Best Actor at the Golden Globes for the role. .. and the sequel is good too! Not nearly as good as the original, but good!

George P Burdell

I remember before and after the movie came out, he stayed in character out in public for the longest time.

Josie Bean Reacts

Saw this in the theater with a group of friends. The first grade teacher said her favorite part was the bear scaring the children 😂

Tmatts

This was such a fun reaction! Simone's soul didn't completely leave her body like I expected, she was a great sport in this one lol

"He's in the US what's stopping someone from pulling a gun and trying to protect her." Well it depends on where in the US. That scene with Pam Anderson was in California, people in California don't carry guns. If that was Texas then it would be a different story. You have to remember the US is a union of different states that each have different laws.

Justin Hearst

Hey George, if you want to know what the people of Khazakstan think of this movie, there's an actual documentary on their reaction by the BBC. They also go to the actual village and interview people featured in the movie. The documentary is called Carmen Meets Borat.

you need to watch the deleted scene " Throw the jew down the well" its very wholesome and messed up at the same time
