Merry Christmas guys. George, with everything that’s going on up there did Simone make it to her travel destination safely?

Odd Thomas

I liked Megamind more tbh

Monica Alarcon

Great movie to watch on Christmas... And now for a follow up Christmas movie I'm gonna watch... Android Night Punch!!!

Amos T Fairchild

The end credit thing was just playing with the 3D effects...

Joshua M Freeman

The theatrical version was in 3D, so the end credit sequence was them playing with the 3D

To reiterate the previous two posts, DM was made during the rise of the 3D movie craze. Three scenes in the film were sculpted just for 3D: The minions assemble scene toward the beginning, the rollercoaster scene, and the end credits. Elements of the space scenes were optimized for 3D(Gru reaching to grab the moon, etc.), but the other three scenes make much more sense in 3D. Honestly, DM is one of the very few movies I've ever watched where I felt the director knew how to use 3D to actually make the film better. The champion in that category is Kenneth Branagh's Thor. Many of the scenes in Thor are blocked for 3D and actually look worse in 2D. I suspect Branagh's extensive theatre experience allowed him to better utilize the medium. But that's a different topic. ;)

For other animated works I recommend Megamind and the Incredibles (written by Brad Bird, the guy who wrote the Iron Giant).

imo Despicable Me 2 is great, Minions is fun, the rest are a bit meh.
