This is why you dont watch movies based on ratings, because Next Friday and Friday After Next are both better than the first Friday movie....Smokey is a great character, but MIke Epps as Day Day is even better

Kevin B

The timing on the overlay is wrong, you restarted the movie but didnt restart the overlay

SavageDiplomat

Come on guys couldn't you have restarted the overlay and the timer. It makes it very difficult to sync up like this.

JayF

I'm sure it was just a mistake. George will get on it asap but that may be a bit as I don't even know if he's active or still on a break right now.

Cinebinge

it should now be fixed! thanks for the patience!

Jason Riley

next time, re-render the fix... then replace the upload.. much less downtime. i was in the middle of that and had to fiddle to make it sync and shit.. now just wait an hour? dude.

redddfer44

"Winnie the" instead of "taking a" - good one, lol

Young Blood Priest

First time I smoked weed in didn’t even get high. Didn’t try again for a year.

Martin

First time I smoked, I didn’t realize I was high until I figured out that the stop sign I had been stopped at for 15 minutes wasn’t going to change green.

MikeBdrx

I cant wait till ya'll get to "Don't Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice In the Hood"

Young Blood Priest

That’s another good flick, but that movie references so many other movies. You think they might get a little lost?

sarCC

Yay! I love this movie.

Jack Burton

Classic for 90's teenagers. Watched this so many times just playing in the background while we hung out and chilled. Good times. Love this movie.

Tenn Seven

You guys should specify you're watching the director's cut. I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on at first.

redddfer44

Maaaan, you really didn't hold back with the viewer questions this time, did you? First time high (without being really drunk first) was at the Roskilde rock festival in Denmark. Excellent stuff on both occasions: the first one made everything hilarious, the second one made everything really chill. Fit well with the Neil Young concert I saw, with all the "there was a band playing in my head and I felt like getting high" vibes around. As to the second question, my parents had peculiar ideas about several things related to privacy, toilets included. Let's say I hated some scenes in this film from the bottom of my therapy-healed heart.

Ricardo Alanis

I've never seen this but I think this is a good time to watch it along with you.

Elvenwitch

I was a bit straight edge in until I was 23, so I didn't smoke till I was 25, and I have not missed a day since. As for the low riders, with hydraulics was not only a thing in the 90s. It is still today. Edit: unfortunately, my stepfather did indeed shit in front of me at least once.

Young Blood Priest

The two sequels have low ratings but they’re both worth a watch.

This movie's great! I really like that you both watched this. I think I first watched this a year or two after it came out. I was a YOUNGSTER then but I still got plenty of laughs from it. My older brother was a gangster type. Still is in a way but yeah, he definitely influenced my interest in this. This one isn't JUST a stoner comedy, it's more gang related comedy than pure stoner comedy. There were plenty of references to a lot of 90's things during this movie. I may go through and watch again to get a list together for ya but I don't know when. Glad you both enjoyed it though, anyway! The sequels were just more of the same but in lower quality. If you really enjoyed the humor in this then it might be worth seeing the sequels but they aren't any better than this so keep that in mind.

Ice Cube has been trying for a while to get the final chapter made for this series WITH Chris Tucker reprising his role of Smokey. The title, fittingly, is Last Friday.

The first time I ever danced with Mary Jane, I unfortunately broke my nose. Crazy story but my friends and I used mess around and pull the whole save your life little pranks on each other. The first time I smoked I was feeling the effects and was in my own little world , when my friend pushed my seat forward , expecting me to kick my legs out and save myself ...... surprise I didn't lmao face planted , full force onto the concrete floor , nose first . I felt the intense snap of the bridge of my nose, an intense fire in my face. Blood was everywhere , gushing like a waterfall . My friends started to panic and didn't know what to do , so they woke up my parents and took me to the emergency room. Still love Mary Jane but for my first experience it really sucked 😆 🤣

It's a stoner comedy but also a day in the life of a lot of places in Southern California. Ice Cube is from South Central LA, and I think his first movie was Boyz N The Hood, which I recommend btw. I'm not from LA but slightly east of LA, and I grew up sort of gangster adjacent. I myself was a wannabe guitarist art class stoner in high school but a lot of my cousins and friends were not necessarily in gangs but did business and hung out with them so I did too sometimes. Then after I got out of the Army I stayed with an Army bro who lived in Compton for a bit, and his neighborhood looked almost identical to this one haha. Anyway this movie is pretty relatable for me, the first sequel probably even more so just because it's set VERY close to where I grew up, one town over actually, and the new characters are, well they're pretty stereotypical but also funny, they make fun of Mexicans some but I'm Mexican and I approve. Btw I had a similar experience to Smokey with laced weed I didn't know about. Was fun until it really wasn't lol and my friends and I all got busted by our parents because none of us could coherently answer even simple questions like, "What are you on?" We didn't know until later it was laced with PCP Also, I met Faison Love once (Big Worm), he was doing stand up at a local bar, I could've smoked him out but for once I didn't have any weed on me, I was on a first date and I didn't know if she smoked yet so I left it at home, and it was some Alaskan Thunderfuck too, now that was a strain.

Foodassassin4life

Michael Clarke Duncan is the other big muscular guy playing dice with smoky and Deebo

Foodassassin4life

Also Red the guy the got punched and robbed for his bike and chain is DJ Pooh

Young Blood Priest

I recently watched a making of video about the movie. Turns out the house where they were playing dice is the house where the director of the movie grew up.

Young Blood Priest

John Witherspoon R.I.P. He had a cameo in Boomerang, an Eddie Murphy movie, that’s a classic scene. He said when he first got to L.A. in order to make ends meet he worked as a gigolo. He was also a good friend of Richard Pryor and a stand up himself until his death. Nia Long just being fine as hell. 😍 She’s also a great actor herself. She had rolls in The Best Man series and a hidden gem called Boiler Room with Giovanni Ribisi. Just to name a few.

JoshG

In my opinion, the sequels are funnier than this one

samuel Jakob

Such a classic, we used to watch this back in the day while hanging its perfect to just be in the background movie. For Georges question, my first time was just after school at the train station with my group. cant recall alot about how it went down been a loong time, but it was a good time and we just hang after it was probably a really fun day because i have been a smoking ever since.

Kelly Myers

Really disappointed I can't find the directors cut to watch with you two!

Isabelle Xena Autumn

Next Friday and Friday After Next are both great movies, you guys should definitely give them a chance... Friday After Next is my favorite christmas movie lol

Josh

Please watch “Next Friday” and “Friday after the next…there all good classics

Steve H

On the DVD, Ice Cube was saying just wanted to show how they grew up in in his hood, so that's what the movie is about.
