Wow! This was such a fun movie to watch with you both. :) I enjoyed watching this so much. Great movie, one that Simone liked more than George. Doesn't happen all that often - so I'm happy when it does. xD See ya bitches!

Of course it's inevitable to compare this one with Despicable Me, but really I think the remarkable thing is how differently they manage to execute the same hyper-specific premise. Megamind has the very well picked licensed music and celebrity voices; a powerful, shall we say, "presentation". But I'd say Despicable Me has much stronger drama, with the orphan girls having to not rely on the adults around them and struggling to learn to trust. Megamind never stops being funny even for a minute, like even when characters appear to die there's about three gags at the same time involving their skeleton. Which is good comedy, but not great comedy. Also the minions have six times more personality than the brainbots.

I'm not a large water dwelling mammal, where did you get that preposterous hypothesis, Did Steve tell you that, perchance?

This is one of my favourite examples of sequels not being needed. The story had been told. To expand upon it will just make it bloated.

The funny thing is that Hal/Titan is right, there is no Queen of England and there has not been 1707. The last Queen of England was Anne who reigned as the Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland until 1707 when the Acts of Union joined the Kingdoms of England and Scotland into one Kingdom called Great Britain, when she then became the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland. Queen Elizabeth II was the Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other Common wealth realms. She was in fact Queen of 32 individual sovereign states each being its own individual Kingdom. But she was never Queen of England, because the Kingdom of England did not exist anymore.

It's so strange to me why so few reactors have watched HTTYD. It's so much better than 90% of animated movies.

I thought that the bit at 1:10:30 (movie time, not reaction time) where Megamind just resigns was awfully touching and surprisingly understated. That's where Roxanne also realizes that the dude really doesn't believe in himself and just acts according to how everyone has always treated him.
