That dude certainly doesn't shy away from the role. He apparently used to live close to where I am in Texas (hell, he still might live in the area), and always did local car commercials wearing basically the exact same outfit as he did in this movie. He might still do the commercials; I cut the cord a few years back and very, very rarely watch any local TV stations.

yeah Chariots of Fire is an old, but not as old as this, movie. the main theme from the soundtrack you might recognize. They called the it a Handcar(t?), throwing "hand cart railroad" into google brings up "A handcar (also known as a pump trolley, pump car, rail push trolley, push-trolley, jigger, Kalamazoo, velocipede, or draisine) is a railroad car powered by its passengers, or by people pushing the car from behind. - criminal line scene - maybe a mouth harp?

Yeah, the end of this movie is A MESS. But the rest of it is so funny it carries through on sheer momentum. For more Madeline Kahn, I recommend Clue.

i looked it up and apparently mel brooks is considered the pioneer and monty python is considered to be influenced by him. the debate about who did it better is everywhere and in full swing. personally, i like monty python.

20:28 Mel Brooks has a funny story about a line of dialogue he took out of that scene after she says is it true, is it true Bart was going say "I hate to interrupt but your sucking on my arm" 🤣🤣 Mel thought that was a bit much 😅

I watched that for the first time in years a while back. Doesn't really hold up that well imo. I mean, obviously they should watch it to get more Mel Brooks. But I do think its probably his weakest film.

I'd certainly have no objections to a Chariots of Fire (1981) reaction. On the poster, the writing on the band of the headdress is Hebrew for "Kosher for Passover." Or it would be, if it weren't (deliberately?) misspelled. As it is, it could be interpreted as very ungrammatically saying "The Definition of Kicking Ass."
