Jeff K

I'm confused. Do you guys plan on finishing The Wire?

Marko T.

I'm glad you are watching this. This is my favorite video game adapation so far. Episode 7 was just released. I'm glad the writer/co-director of the game Neil Druckmann is involved and he also directed episode 2. Pedro Pascal is great as Joel. I hope people don't post spoilers.

j c

Hi. About the Wire, do you have every intention in finishing the show?

Mike

Didn't know y'all were doing this, started it with a different reactor 😂 now I'm conflicted

Martin

Doesn’t sound like they intend to finish The Wire. Bummer.

Martin Nicholls

"favourite video game adaptation" is low bars everywhere, why don't people just say "it's good" - "favourite video game adaptation" makes it sound like it's complete trash and people are trying to justify watching it.

Lock_Down

Can't wait to watch this with u guys

James Lawson

*quite voice* Expanse Season 3 <3

A Red Mage Named Blue

While I adore Pedro Pascal, and even enjoyed watching playthroughs of the second game, I have no interest in zombie stuff. Hope you enjoy it though

JediLounger

I’ve played both games several times, and read the companion comics. The show is an excellent adaptation of the story. Enjoy it guys.

JayF

Not really a fan of the game but I hope I enjoy the show. Everyone is reacting to it right now so it seems I'm obligated. I'll wait until you post all the episodes then buy a month of HBO so I can binge the cine with you.

Jeff K

On that note, I admit I was a little bummed George isn’t going in totally blind, and it sounds like he knows what to expect in this first episode. But, glad the rest of the series should be pretty blind for both of them.

Jeff K

By the way George and Simone, if the young actor (Nico Parker) who plays Sarah looks familiar, it's because she's the spitting image of her mom, Thandiwe Newton. (I didn't realize it when I watched the first episode and only discovered it later and smacked myself, because duh. She's like a clone of her mom.)

Teyon Alexander

This is probably one of the best adaptations - especially video game adaptations -from one media to another I’ve experienced in a very long time. It manages to change things in a way that the story stays fresh for everyone while stilt managing to hit the same story beats and in some cases verbatim scenes.

Liesmith

"Forget Henry Cavill for a second..." "No."

john blake

I hope they’re intending to finish The Wire.

Haye Zeus

I wasn’t really digging the show so I stopped before finishing the first episode cause i was getting annoyed. But since you guys announced and it obviously was winning the poll I just decided to watch it with you guys. It’ll be more tolerable for me I hope.

Jeff K

I mean, I’m a heterosexual man and, honestly, same energy.

Mike

That's her mom?? Bruh you just blew my mind! But yes, she looks so much like her. Newton is so great, she was a full half of the reason to watch Westworld. Even as the writers ran out of ideas her performance kept that show going.

mojo shivers

I never thought this day would come. You guys should enjoy this. It’s really something. Be prepared for some heartache and sorrow.

michael clarke

consider releasing a youtube cut of the series but specifically episode 3. i dont even watch other react channels, but i spent the entire next day watching every react video i could find just to see how everyone else took it.

Jay Davis

So you're saying my demand for all 7 seasons of The West Wing to be watched (without sleep) will not be followed??

Jeff K

It’s genuinely one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen.

Xandermud

I remember Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite tossing the character ammo from time to time but Ellie never does in the Last of Us.

HeyHeyJK

I never played the game but love the show. I guess that's the end of that story, really.

Jeff K

Now that I'm getting a chance to watch the reaction: BREAKING - Canadian YouTuber accuses HBO director of causing Chernobyl disaster. But seriously, I just noticed something. The teacher said homework was due “tomorrow” but then Tommy clearly establishes this is a Friday. Immersion ruined! Thanks a lot, Craig Mazin!

Jeff K

I haven’t played the games (too intense for me), but I’ve watched some play throughs because I kept hearing how great the story was. I’m amazed at how well they’ve adapted it to TV. It obviously is a very cinematic story and game, but they’re done an outstanding job varying some things while keeping all of the most important plot points in place, and maybe just arriving at them in slightly different ways that work better for this format. It’s incredibly impressive.

Thomas Yanez

Maybe I just had assholes for teachers, but I had to turn in multiple papers via e-mail and/or logging into a site to post "by Saturday evening at the latest".

Odd Thomas

This'll be the fourth time I'm watching this episode - I'm not mad. And to people saying 'nah, it's just a zombie show' - watch the first episode. If you still think that, fair enough, but don't dismiss something you haven't even tried.

Jeff K

By the way George and Simone - without spoiling which actors pop up or when, multiple people who did voices in the game are in the show, but the actor who plays Marlene is the only one who also played that character in the game (at least so far). Also: you guys might appreciate the fact most of the show was filmed in Alberta (Calgary and Edmonton, and then the wilderness of Alberta).

Tenn Seven

Nico Parker was just so good in this. Seems that she's just as talented as her mom.

Jay

Gonna wait to finish it myself before watching these. I'm liking TLOU, maybe not quite as much as everyone else seems to be but episode 3 really was amazing. Still, I'm a lot more excited about getting back to B-more. Bunny Colvin, Marlo Stanfield, Slim Charles, a certain slimeball from The Fingers, Hamsterdam and the funniest scene involving a sideways baseball cap you'll ever see. Can't wait!

Monica Alarcon

I haven't read the comments but I wonder if anybody's asked if they intend to finish The Wire...

Marko T.

That guy in the talk show scene is played by John Hannah. He was Jonathan in The Mummy.

Martin

It’s a show about what it is that makes us human. It just happens to take place during a zombie apocalypse.

Brendan Rafferty

If you are considering other limited series from HBO, may I recommend GENERATION KILL and ROME

JokerDanny

Please add Gotham to future TV polls.

Skinny_Obelix

Ash can be used for soap, ceramics, glass, and I believe they recently found Romans used it in concrete.

Haye Zeus

So I guess you guys don’t intend on finishing The Shield huh. I’m disappointed. Wait, which cop show are we talking about?

Jeff K

Definitely would recommend Generation Kill. Super short, from David Simon, and is just really well made and criminally under-appreciated and overlooked.

dieselbeast

This show is amazing! Glad you two are in for the ride!

Graham Bullman

So I take it that the fact Simone didn't know Anna Torv, and George mentioned Mindhunter suggest you are not familiar with "Fringe". I feel that you should definitely add "Fringe" to your next TV poll. I think it's right up your street.

Travis

Do you think you will finish the wire?

George P Burdell

Need to watch Fringe; Anna Torv is great in that and so good

Chase Schleich

Thank you for doing this show. I don't watch (or have an interest in watching) any of the shows you've done since you last did The Boys forever ago. Finally doing one I actually watch lol.

Thomas Wendel

The song at the end is late 80s. Never let me down again by Depeche Mode from Music for the Masses.

MJH

They run polls to vote on what TV series (season) they watch next. The Wire was out-voted on the last poll. They will run a poll again when they get closer to the end of this show and you will have the chance to vote for The Wire to be next.

Tom Smith

Sense8 would still be amazing for another series!

Pk

Ok, so I have a question. I didn't game for an extended period of like 15+ years, and am just now getting back into it a little bit, and was considering playing this before watching it... Obviously I know it's not req'd, but want to know if anyone has a strong option on watching first... if it's a 6 =1/2 dz scenario that's ideal, but if not I'd like to get it right... Oh, and most importantly: Do you guys have ANY intention in finishing the wire?

Lucas Gifford

Ya'll gonna finish the show? (i know)

Chase Schleich

Mandalorian season 3 starts tonight so that season will be fully aired by the time you finish The Wire. That should be your next show since you've already done seasons 1 and 2. Just remember to watch Boba Fett on your own time so you're caught up with what's going on between Mando and Grogu because a lot happens in the last half of the season of Boba Fett.

Travis H

As a big fan of the games I think it’s safe to say the show is better than the game. The game does a great job telling the story, but the tv show can go deep into the character drama of it all, while the game does what it can but has to get to the next action scene to keep the player engaged. There are a lot of changes from the game and all are for the better, especially involving an upcoming episode (which I won’t name to keep expectations down) which is one of the best tv episodes in the last few years! As others have mentioned I would highly recommend Fringe starring Anna Torv but probably not for the channel, there are 100 episodes and it would take you SOO long to get through it! But you should watch it, it’s a sci-fi/xfiles type show.

Chase Schleich

They give you the answer about the Wire in the description of this video AND at the start of the video. Also, yes, you need to play this game, but it doesn't matter if you watch the show first or play the game first. They're very similar except for the show skipping a lot and changing a few things. You'll get the same experience either way though.

micah

i really hope after the next 'the wire' season andor is next on the list! it came in 3rd place in the poll so lol

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I've played both games multiple times. The show so far is the closest game adaptation ever made, and the most intriguing too. It helps that the story creator for the game is deeply involved with the show. Some things were altered/changed but it definitely helps to watch the Inside the Episode segment after the credits

Brian Hakala

George and I had the same thought wondering about the spores. The show runners decided that they wouldn’t do anything related to spores or airborne infection which is disappointing. Only thing I’d change. Other than that this is one of the best shows today.

FranciscoGios

The next episode will explained more how can you get the fungus into your system. There was some pin points how it started in this episode but I didn’t get them until after. Also I just watched people playing the game never played it myself.

Rob Church

I dunno, I think adding spores being in the air works better in the game because it's just a mechanic to take your mask on and off, I think having it done in the show raises a lot of annoying questions, how far is the radius? How many does it take? How long does it live for? What if one is left on a table and you touch it and then lick your finger? If a few spores are blown 30 miles by the wind that changed directions and someone breaths them, will they just randomly become infected? It just leads to a lot of nitpicky details so I can see why they left it out.

Koonce

Pedro Pascal is also in Buffy! George was referencing all the nerdy things he has been in.

Logan Kerlee

Had a great time watching with you both. I'll be watching this on my own before I watch it with you two, I think for this series. Especially if you continue to post a day or two after the episode launches. Totally isn't a problem!! Just how I'll be doing it with this series. Overall, I'm digging on this series. I also haven't played the video game so it'll all be fresh for me. I love the casting choices for this show! The lead cast is amazing. Anna Torv is my favorite among them because I LOVED Fringe. If you both haven't watched that, please consider putting it on a poll. It's definitely one that I'd vote for.

DinChild

Something tells me we're only getting one episode for the next two weeks, considering the 3rd's length. Otherwise, they may need a pee break.

AdNoctumLoki .

I've played the game so many times its one of my top 5 and i love what they did with it in the show. The sets are crazy , the actors are all so soo good and everytime i recognize a scene or a sentence i feel like a kid on birthdays. I love it and hope you guys will love it too.

Nimo-the-Red

I love fringe and am rewatching it with my partner who has never seen it, who is now also a fan

John

You should consider adding Narcos to a TV poll if you like Pedro Pascal

Kenneth thomas

Very happy to see info about The Wire! S3 and S4 are just...wooboy. Peak amazingness.

Speziald

Hey hey! Im new here and usually i dont watch, watchalongs so i have a small problem :D i cant sync it with your reaction, i tried 4 different versions but everytime my video is slightly faster and i have to pause every few seconds, even using handbrale to match the fps doesnt work :(. Anyone who could tell me how to sync it?

Bobby Powell

Homework was due at end of class tomorrow, but it's Friday when Tommy calls about being in jail.

Bobby Powell

Anna Torv best known as Olivia from Fringe, is the actress playing Tess

Madelyn Blaze

The opening of this episode was just perfect... amusing like many older interview segments, but then gradually slipping into fascination, and then dropping into pure horror. The reactions from the host and the audience there at the end conveyed every bit of fear anyone would have at the idea of the world of humans being taken over by another organism with no way to stop it. Chill inducing stuff! *** I always cry at Sarah's death, and Pedro Pascal's raw emotions just made it that much more intense!

Henry 4000

i cant find episode 2 to 7

brian burke

in the 1968 opening, one of the scientists is christopher heyerdahl, do you know him from the canadian tv show SANCTUARY? and will you ever review SANCTUARY tv series on your show, i think it is all filmed in canada and maybe you have interesting info about it and its locations.

pinkdino99

The game gives us 10 mins with Sarah before she dies, and it broke everyone. The actress that played her totally knocked it out of the park. Her death ruined me.

Angel Ruiz

Hi guys I've been up fan for a long time I've never joined a patron before but I just had to combine to my favorite things The last of Us and cinebinge I'm truly in my happy place today
