Oh my god, it's happening! OK, places everyone!

King_Panarisi

Holy shit did i miss the pole for this? This movie stayed with me ever since i first saw it! I believe this to be a masterpiece and you can never go wrong with Bjork.

Onno Smits

Anyone know what region of the black seas to sail in? Everywhere I fish, all I catch is the Extended Cut... 😅

Jay

I thought we were getting Grand Budapest Hotel this week :(

HalfMayn

Nice to see the Snyder train continuing with with this and then man of steel. Hope you guys finish with BvS and Justice League

Odd Thomas

There's not much difference between this (theatrical) and the director's cut, tbh, just a musical number. I love this movie. It seems like style over substance but repeat viewings make you appreciate the story more.

Pajander

Damn, really scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

Jeff I.

This is the first time they've post something I've never heard of. Then I looked on Wikipedia and saw it got a lot of bad reviews and was like oh okay. Haha

Generators

1377x dot to has it if you search Sucker Punch Theatrical. though only 4 seeds so might take a while.

Travis

Curious how this was selected 🤷🏼‍♂️

Generators

ive seen this in the comments every once in a while for quite a while now. plus im guessing ppl dm them so they eventually did it. 🤷‍♂️

Haye Zeus

Oof. Ya’ll enjoy I guess

JayF

George, good job spotting Scott Glenn from Daredevil but he's been in several other movies you've reacted to including Apocalypse Now, The Silence of the Lambs, and Red October. Consider a reaction to the Western "Silverado" (1985) 7.2 on IMDB which he is also in. The cast includes an ass ton of familiar faces and some you haven't seen yet but will run into more and more via your reactions.

Jameson Yates

You guys missed that Oscar Isaac was forging Dr. Gorski's (Carla Gugino/Madam) signature for the lobotomies.

Nimo-the-Red

Man it is wild how toxic the people who dont like snyder movies are. When I see a movie I'm not interested in watching, I just dont watch it and go about my day, these other people are really pathetic.

Odd Thomas

It makes more sense on 2nd viewing. Also the stepfather paid Oscar Isaac to have Babydoll labotomised. That's why the Russian madam is surprised to see her signature on the form at the end.

Jayson Phillips

The way I looked at it is that her mind took her to the club thing instead of a mental asylum, everytime she is forced to do something sexy her mind takes her deeper into a made up world.

Viktor M

One of my favorite films and way too underestimated. just because there are some sexy girls on the cover doesn't make people pay attention to the plot anymore, which people should do. And for me the last good Snyder Movie.

sarCC

Well, this is a surprise.

Jenny Tolls

Idk why y’all are hating on this movie. Not every single film has to be this deep complex story or has to be compelling or thought provoking. This was just a fun movie with cool visual expects. Learn to enjoy things lol

Eddy V Ruiz II

The soundtrack IMHO was much better than the movie. Emily Browning (Babydoll) sings a few of the songs. She also starred in and sang for the movie God Help the Girl written and directed by Stuart Murdoch of the band Belle and Sebastian. I dont think there is a market for it on Youtube, but if you like that type of music I highly recommend the film. Also, I was team Dragon and the film lost me when they killed the baby dragon. By the cook's song I was ... wow pretty, how much longer is this.

I've watched this a number of times. I really enjoy this movie. It shows a group of character's strength and cooperation in order to defeat an evil and escape a terrible place. I'd rate the three movies 1) 300 2) Sucker Punch 3) Dawn of the Dead I didn't not enjoy Dawn of the Dead - I just really liked this one. That and I'm not much for horror/zombie flicks. 300 flat won't be topped by this because well, 300's amazing. Easily one of my top favorite movies of that type.

Nimo-the-Red

Dont forget Watchmen! (Unless you left it out purposely, in which case, carry on)

David RedEagle

Zack Snyder makes some of the very best movies of all time!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Well I liked it more than I thought I would. Honestly was gonna skip it but the thing about Cinebinge is they're great even when the movie isn't so much, that and I knew it was associated with the Björk song, great song and album, I loved everything Björk did in the late 90s, even when she attacked that journalist like a rabid Icelandic spider monkey for no real reason. She's just awesome. My point is sometimes you just gotta enjoy the nonsense, and this movie surprised me because I kind of expected to hate it. Suffices to say I'm not the biggest Zack Snyder fan. I am going to rewatch this though, at least once more, it was weird and I love weird.

Philipp Roensch

Oh what a surprise, like to call this a "troublesome" movie^^. Honestly was a fan of it for quite a while but grew out of it, there is just too much not ok with how the movie treats it's lead characters. Gonna be on the rewatch list, because I like to see your take, but after Pirates :D.

Gryff

People dont like it because it has a tinge of the dark side of what a film can be and it's not even truly a "Dark" film. Just a few touchy realities of humanity on display, and making people face reality head on when they want a fantasy movie is a Sucker Punch.

Alan Kobb

I never saw this before. It's an interesting use of metaphor, but very depressing that only one of the lead characters makes it out at the end and the punishment for failure is arguably worse than death. Can't say I'm a big fan.

MD Simmons

I've only seen this once when It first released. All I remember is the ending.

Bill Campbell

Space Train - Space Elevator or Beanstalk ( due to Jack and the Beanstalk fame)

Davide Figus

I’m not a big fan of Snyder but I think this is one of the most underrated and unfairly mistreated films by both critics and audiences, Maybe this is also his charm. The fact that many, may even be because of the film itself, have not succeeded or have not tried to try to understand the subtext of the film

Squ33ky

could have seen this one on Cine Cringe.. Only way to watch would be volume off and music tracks going movie looks Amazing but the story is garbage. imo

djKENTO

Shame this isn’t the extended cut. I think this movie is severely underrated by an audience that it was never made for. This is a wild swing… way braver than most studio projects. You may not like it but you can’t say that it isn’t made with precision, expertise, and love.

pinkdino99

One of my fave films. But it took some unpacking. If you know what to look for this film has so many layers. I recommend the video You Don't Understand Sucker Punch on YouTube. NOTHING that happens occurs in reality. The film starts with curtains opening on a stage, a stage that is the same stage shown through three levels of consceptual storytelling. Sweet Pea is the narrator. Babydoll does not exist. The story Babydoll plays out at the beginning is Sweet Pea's story, and mirrors the first time we see Sweet Pea on Madame's stage reliving through her trauma. Babydoll is a "better angel" that Sweet Pea conjures to help her escape the brutality's of Blue. And the escape is through her lobotomy. If you do revisit this the extended version has three main key moments - first is an extended battle scene where Sweet Pea gets to use her broadsword. Second there is a massive and oppulent musical number at the introduction of the second brothel level. Third and most important is the High Roller seducing Babydoll after she is captured outside. John Hamm plays the High Roller as he is the lobotomy doctor. His seduction is the offer of taking away Babydoll's pain and taking her into paradise. The Sucker Punch is that this is a film about female empowerment. Yes these women are scantily clad, but that is how they get their power over the dribbling and drooling male masses. Emily Browning (Babydoll) actually sang the first three cover songs, and Sing Me to Sleep always makes me cry. Interestingly it is 18mins45seconds before Babydoll utters her first word.

Robingrlwonder

oh... i payed 9 dollars for u to not even feel the movie or like it :/...also with her statement "but I didn't understand it" uhm...i think it just hit the wrong audience. Also focusing and saying how the movie was 'targeted' to young horny guys, is a u thing. (as a woman that can just appreciate these beautiful women being badass......so idk, if thats where ur mind had to go then...) idk im just not a nitpicker i just have fun with movies so maybe I can't talk.

Itbewhatitbe

so what you want isnt actual genuine reaction, you just want to hear people agree with you.

James Melton

The structure of the film invites a lot of "but in the real world" thinking. Probably what you want to do then is to then say "But in the real world, we are watching a movie." not in a dismissive way but as a genuine realization: "Hey Snyder is showing us that these are stories and that these stories mean something real to the people seeing them even when we say the story is not #real." Why would he want to do that? Maybe as a way of saying what he does actually matters? It's all fake and pretend sure but it also has a real impact in the real world. The monologue at the end asking who creates this mayhem and celebrates when we survive etc, offers the answer "it's you". I think Snyder has created a story that's partly about every story being a cathartic vehicle which you can use to "feed your head". Looking into the ending using story-logic: Babydoll being lobotomized was the way she got the doctors to compare notes and realize that Blue was repeatedly faking the signature of Dr Gorski in exchange for cash payments. Her sacrifice ensured he was caught and everyone else would be free of him. Sucker Punch: verb - hit (someone) with an unexpected punch or blow Snyder is probably trying to get you to look at yourself as an active participant in the process of storytelling instead of being a passive bystander. He's breaking the 4th wall in a way that's unusual and certainly in a way that's sneaky. I'd say he does it in a way you don't see coming until it hits you...
