For Jay and Silent Bob, the best film is definitely Mall Rats

Oh yes, there were protests. Kevin Smith actually went to one, pretending to be opposed to the movie. It was denounced by the Catholic League organization, though not the Catholic Church itself.

Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, Clerks 2, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, and Clerks 3 are the related films. I think they're all worth watching.

I made the mistake of reading the script for this movie the night before going to see it in the theater, so to a degree I ruined the experience for myself a little bit because I had already set expectations for line deliveries in my head (the performances were more subdued in my head, which... well, that's a me problem, because it's a Kevin Smith movie. The performances are rarely subdued, and I should have known that).

the church where the ending was filmed is the Heinz memorial chapel at Pitt (University of Pittsburgh). Clerks is Kevin Smith's break out film and he is known for his dialogue style that is present here. Mall Rats is, I think, very fun. The body horror movie you're thinking of is Walrus.

I’d watch the Jay and Silent Bob/View Askew-verse in order. Clerks and Mallrats are hilarious. As is Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. But I think the real jewel is Chasing Amy, that movie is funny but also dramatic and poignant in a way Kevin Smith’s previous films weren’t. I consider Chasing Amy a top ten film for me.

Yes, please watch the rest of the Viewaskewniverse! Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, & Clerks 2 are all incredible, the others have their moments too but you definitely have to watch until CLerks 2

YES!! Can’t wait to watch this. Great movie. Kevin Smith wrote this years before Clerks, but wanted to wait until he could get a decent budget to produce it. Good call!

You guys will love Clerks. Mallrats is a fun time but not, like, a cinematic masterpiece. Chasing Amy is very good. Besides those and this, the rest of Kevin Smith's filmography is, uhhh, spotty... to be kind.

This movie was protested, and Kevin Smith(silent bob) the director thought it was funny and joined them and was filmed doing an interview protesting his movie(Shaggit Link). Silent bob only has a few lines because Kevin Smith also wrote the movies, and didn't want to memorize a lot of lines. Legend. Also hes from Jersey
