Jeronimo

Be excellent to each other!

Jeff K

Well Simone the dolphin is an image that will haunt my nightmares forever. Thanks, George!

Andi Herr

Probably the jimcarreyest of all Jim Carrey movies. Fun fact: Cannibal Corpse are in the movie because Jim Carrey is a huge fan of theirs.

Heath Garlick

Jim Carrey is the fan of Cannibal corpse.

Andi Herr

Obviously, from today's perspective, the "villain goes crazy and turns out to be trans" thing and the whole reveal at the end is ... questionable at best. You couldn't make a film like this anymore, which is 100% a good thing. Nevertheless, this was Carrey's big breakthrough and I appreciate the heck out of his performance in it. I mean, try imagining this movie with anyone other than Carrey in the leading role. I'm pretty sure nobody would even remotely remember it today!

Duncan

You should have put the intro you used in the Patreon version ,on the Youtube edit ,then you would have gotten about 40 new subscribers who just came to read the Patreon comments you mentioned Always think business 💰

JayF

George, I find that Control-Insert works better. ;)

FaceMustache

I will say the transphobia of this movie is an unfortunate relic of the times and has aged quite poorly. A bit of a stain on an otherwise very fun movie.

Onikaze

Ray Finkle's Mom is the librarian from the beginning of Ghostbusters!

Jeff K

In the words of The Greek (who isn't even Greek), "Business. Always business."

buddha bling

make sure y'all watch the other one, When Nature Calls. In my opinion it's better then the first and it was my childhood movie growing up hell I didn't even know about this one until I was a lot olde lol.

Onikaze

as far as favorite Jim Carrey movies go, I have a soft spot for Once Bitten, I think it bombed and is a stupid 80's teen sex comedy, and Cable Guy which is actually kind of disturbing.

Pam Nail

The thing with the doorman was a reference to The Love Boat, a TV show from the 70s/80s -- Captain Stubing, Gopher and Doc were all characters on the show. The actor playing the doorman bears a remarkable resemblance to the guy who played Captain Stubing. I remember many of us at the time thinking it *was* him. Mission: Impossible was a television show way before the movies (back in the 60s) and that's the original theme song from the show. The first M:I movie came two years after Ace Ventura. This movie came out in February of 1994, seven months before Friends premiered, so I'm not sure Courtney Cox would have even been cast yet when she filmed this (most likely in '93). The movie also predates The Lion King by a few months (which is why they couldn't have used "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" for the sex scene). :P

Pam Nail

I know I wasn't as knowledgable about trans people when I first saw this, but I do remember even back in 1994 the 3rd act humiliation felt ridiculously mean.

K Murray

Smelt is a small fish in case you're still wondering.

A Red Mage Named Blue

I have a theory about why Ace acts so weird. I think he has a crippling fear of being disliked. He's afraid that if he opens himself up to people, they'll dislike, or even hate him. So he acts weird and annoying so that if people do hate him, it's because of those actions, not because of who he is.

Vellu

Many have educated you about Captain Stubing, so here is an idea for tuesday slot: pick a bunch of pilot-episodes from classic 80's tv-shows and react to those.

PIG

Love the pic

Rockstar

Another amrican movie that is extremely average. But important to people with nothing in life. I sense a pattern haha Poor people. Everyone on the continent seems to suffer from some US fever. Horrible place, great distractions. I just recently realised that Canada isn't such a great place either. I hope you recover and get the priorities right. JIm Carrey is funny, but just a funny dude leading morons.

underAtack

Right, because wasn't Can You Feel the Love Tonight written FOR the Lion King?

Joshua Gardiner

I agree with Simone. Liar Liar is at the top of my Jim Carrey list.

Jeff K

You sound like you’re going out of your way to get banned. Good luck with that.

Jeff K

Which means Ray Finkle’s great uncle thought he was Saint Jerome!

Happy Hanukkah

Best version of the Barrie story EVAR!!1!: Peter Pan Goes Wrong (2016).

Onikaze

don't know how I glanced over the title card image for this earlier but it's definitely giving me Seaman(old sega game) vibes

Barstoolteacher

If you’ve never seen Peter Pan anything then you should definitely check out Hook.

Cory Garron

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mine is by far my favorite Jim Carey movie, but its not an over the top comedy. Not sure if that was the criteria. Peace and love from the Canadian Maritimes.

Brandon Meng

No love for The Truman Show as one of Jim Carrey's best films? I feel like it's either that or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which you haven't reacted to yet but I will continue to spam on polls or any mention of Jim Carrey in any of your other reaction videos!

Andi Herr

Hard agree about Eternal Sunshine. It's his best performance, alongside Man On The Moon.

FromDarknessComesLight

It really saddens me that they have to write in the description "don't forget to be nice to each other in the comments". Can't we all just enjoy the movies?

Dalvory

The thumbnails you guys make... I just can't. Too good.

Nate Gavin

another killer thumbnail haha

Hyperdryve

I think the 2nd movie is twice as good personally

JayF

How did you leave The Truman Show of your list of his movies? I love Liar Liar but Truman Show is my favorite.

Dalton Kennedy

meh I never really liked When Nature Calls that much. It’s also the reason Jim Carrey swore off doing sequels for like two decades haha

JayF

Yeah I know. That's why I was surprised they didn't mention it when discussing his best movies. Maybe they just meant his comedies though because that one has quite a bit of drama as well.

Jack Burton

that thumbnail is nightmare fuel.

redddfer44

They do mention it, but I'm not sure if it was in the YT edit or the Patreon one.

Hyperdryve

I think the major reason I like the second one more is because my dad does and it has huge nostalgia factor. We also share a sense of humor and laughter is contagious. I know I’m biased but I can’t help loving it 😁

Ashley Minor

This was my favorite movie as a kid, but I personally find it a bit of a rough watch looking back. Thank you so much for a fun watch through that made me remember all the great jokes in it.

Robert Haynes

George has never seen a Peter Pan anything? Sounds like it is time for Hook!

Eric S

I recommend the sequel. Funny as well.
