JayF

One of the few of his films from that time period that I never watched. Looking forward to this one.

dieselbeast

Reverse bear trap?! If it's what I think it is I'm excited 😁

Odd Thomas

So ahead of its time with its meta-ness. If it had come out after Scream, it would have absolutely KILLED.

Odd Thomas

Another GREAT John McTiernan movie you haven't seen: Die Hard with a Vengeance. It's the best in the series imo

Cthulhu1928

Well now you have to watch Amadeus.

YoureMrLebowski

hair looking great! i used to say the Schmitts have the best hair but now i'm not so sure... 🙂

Garin

You guys should react to Annihilation! I think George would love it.

Eddy V Ruiz II

Watch the big fat quiz show of everything if for nothing else the Charles Dance segments.

Garmonbozia93

"Amadeus" is an amazing movie. It is not meant to be seen as an accurate historical movie but that's a masterpiece. It is the best F. Murray Abraham performance in a movie

Naturekitty5309

Chevy Chase.. can we add Foul play and Seem like old times. To your list.

Odd Thomas

I like Terminator 3. While it's not as good as the first two it is far better than people say

Odd Thomas

An underrated Charles Dance film where he's a good guy: Alien 3. Fincher's first film. I absolutely love that movie, it's so unfairly maligned. The score is amazing too; top 5 for me

Jay Davis

Well... now you hafta put Fletch in your polls... and Caddyshack... and National Lampoo... you know what. Nevermind. I won't DRIVE you about Chevy Chase. Hmm? Huh?

ShellPuppy

I believe the henchman butler was a play on the villain Oddjob from a Bond movie.

offbrandhotdogs

George, the rom-com parody movie you're looking for is Not Another Teen Movie

Reiji Kobayashi

I recommend the Sarah Connor Chronicles, a Terminator TV series which was, sadly, cancelled after the second season. Arnold makes no appearance, but it has Summer Glau.

Moni Castaneda

mmmmm, "reverse bear trap", Key in the toilet reminds you of another movie... I think I know wich movie you watched... or should I say... wich movie you "saw"....

JediLounger

So I said this when you guys watched the first Nightmare on Elm Street. You guys should watch those (Ending with New Nightmare), and then watch the Scream movies (six total so far). It would be worth it, and you would love the overall meta. I would also endorse you guys watching Terminator 3. It does not compare to Terminator 2, but how can it? Following up one of the greatest sequels ever made, they did the best they could. You guys really enjoyed the T2 for the comedy, and they bring that back in the sequel, the movie is very self aware. Plus the new terminator is legitimately terrifying, the person playing it does a great job. Terminator Salvation is an interesting movie. I like a lot of it(action, effects, overall story), but they needed to change some things in the script so the audience would find out about some plot points at the same time as the people in the movie. I think it would have been received better.

redddfer44

"Junior" is the one where Arnie is pragnent pargent gregnant pegnate pegrent pregante. You also missed a turd (Red Sonja, where Arnie isn't even the main character), a could've-been-but-kinda-turd (Raw Deal), and Eraser (I remember nothing about it except one great oneliner).

Tyler Foster

Strong disagree on Raw Deal; I'd put that above Commando in a heartbeat. Red Sonja is silly, but it's a more agreeable silly than the atrocious Conan the Destroyer.

Tyler Foster

Not just Sharon Stone, but specifically Sharon Stone as Catherine Trammell. If reverse bear trap means what I assume it means, I can't wait to play a game. The Saw movies are kind of stupid but I love them so much. I hope you get as far as VI, which is the best of the series, although frankly I'll be a little surprised if you do any of the sequels.

Tyler Foster

You also are allowed one "fuck" in a PG-13 movie, but it cannot be "motherfucker" and it cannot be in a sexual context, so you can say "fuck you" but you can't say "let's fuck."

Logan Kerlee

I had a smile on my face all throughout this one! xD I've seen this movie plenty of times in my life - and usually always alone. This isn't a well loved movie by Arnold fans but I really enjoy it. :) Very happy that George and Simone liked it so much! I was a bit worried that they'd dismiss it as cheesy nonsense. If you both would like to continue the Terminator franchise, my suggestion would be to either skip 3 or slot it in for a Cinecringe episode. It's a bad one. Not a so bad that it's good.. just a poor movie, Buuuut like I said, I'd be stoked if you continued your exploration of it all. Perhaps, like some above me have mentioned you take a look at the brief (2 season run) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles series. It isn't amazing, but it's better than T3. The two movies made after T3 were leaps better than that though. The sixth.. well, being honest - I don't really remember that one. Which is odd.. not because I have a great memory (I don't) but because I really enjoy the franchise. So I'm guessing that it's so bad that I plain forgot it. If you both do decide to wind up watching them all though - I'd be down to re experience it.

Persnickity

The newest terminator movie (Dark Fate) does do a franchise reset. Even without the nostalgia bonus it's a good movie.

PIG

Welp. Now you have to watch Amadeus now. An incredible movie.

REDR58

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation should be mandatory viewing.

wroot

I was going to say that was Jim Belushi and he starred with Arnold in Red Heat :) Well, that's not the most liked and often forgotten, but i kind of like it. Arnold doing Russian accent is something :D

akaTheBARON

🖤I feel validated as a fan of this movie that not only did this movie get put on a poll, won the poll, and was enjoyed by you two. I loved this movie as a kid, and still do to this day, but have seen so much criticism about it and never understood why. When Deadpool breaks the 4th wall everyone loves it, but when Arnie does it in the 90's its dumb I guess LOL. I think its one of those movies that got a fanbase over time I suppose. And Simone was right about Kevlar vests. When they get shot they will sort of break/get damaged. So they COULD take a 2nd shot but they're generally considered one-time use.

simon brouillard

Amadeus is an amazing movie. Junior is the movie where Arnold is pregnant cinecringe worthy, none of the terminator movie after 2 are worth it really, they go from meh to bad but not in a fun way

Ghostwriter

This movie has such a great, fun concept. There's probably not a lot of crossover between Arnold Schwarzenegger fans and Jane Austen fans, but one TV series from 2008 with a very similar concept and plot is Lost in Austen (but using Pride & Prejudice tropes instead of action movie ones).

Young Blood Priest

Is this the first multi-verse movie? @akaTheBaron: I agree. When I saw this movie I had a great time and so did everyone else in the theater. My wife and I were shocked when we saw reviewers on tv trashing it. I’m really glad Simone & George enjoyed it tho. I forgot about the cameos. Damon Wayans, MC Hammer and the T-1000 terminator, made me shout and point at the screen. Made my day.

Chints' Miniature Mistakes

J. Murray plays Salieri, Mozart's professional rival in a movie about Mozart called Amadeus. And well.. now you know what "Practice" does in Amadeus. Also if you liked this then definitely check out the animated "Wreck it Ralph"! Same concept, but with video game characters.

djKENTO

It would get no views but my favorite Macbeth is Akira Kurosawa’s Throne of Blood.

Cody Rice

I like Arnold the most in his comedic roles and therefore i can not wait for you to watch his comedies. Especially Twins! 🫵

PaulChristopher

I liked his comedy western The Villain. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ann-Margaret, Kirk Douglas, Mel Tillis, Foster Brooks, Paul Lynde, and Jack Elam.

TechPriest

"Is he talking to us?" This is pretty hard to notice on a first watch, but in the scene where Charles Dance begins breaking down the walls, the camera pans and you can see the camera crew's reflection behind him. To my knowledge, no one has admitted if this was a mistake, or if it was deliberate. If deliberate, it's pretty awesome. This is a movie within the 'real world' within a movie, and the character doesn't know if an audience exists yet, or where we might be. But he has broken the wall enough to be aware of the camera crew, who is now in the scene with him, and is speaking to them.

JayF

Just in case it hasn't been pointed out, you've reacted to an action movie where the main character dies. Granted Gladiator isn't just an action movie but it's definitely partially one.

TechPriest

Second on watching T3. It's not a bad movie, and I personally really liked the ending. The extended release of T2 does makes T3 a little strange, but that's not the 'real' version of T2 anyway.

FranciscoGios

This one definitely moves your imagination of possibilities with a magic movie ticket. As far as Terminator 3 and beyond I don’t want to give out any spoilers but if you guys decided to see T3 you guys might as well just watch all of them and I know some followers would be against that, though the ending will surprise you. The one with Emilia Clarke that’s in Terminator Genesis she plays Sarah Conor.

Alex Ch

Chevy Chase yelling at a deer has to be “Morty Moose” in National Lampoon’s Vacation.

Gary Fixler

All the boys in my grade school recognized the redhead lady behind the counter at the video store right away. She wasn't just an attractive woman, like all the rest. That was Angie Everhart, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, and a big schoolyard crush back then.

Ry Jo

if I had the ticket... it would be Aliens,T2 or Ghostbusters ... i don't care if I die early on, one of those three movies.

Ry Jo

or if the ticket worked on TV shows... Supernatural, MASH, The Americans

Chase Schleich

Last Action Hero flopped HARDDDDDD when it first came out. It's looked back at fondly by many now, but at the time, Arnold thought it killed his career. His films were a guaranteed hit every time, until Last Action Hero. It was his first real failure.

MacGuffinStuff

Holy shit I haven't seen this movie since it first came out, and I'm surprised how bad my memory is, I guess at that age I just couldn't appreciate it yet, because it was a lot more memorable this time. But it was a transitional time I think, just like in music at the time, people wanted something different than 80s action and around that time Quentin Tarantino and a bunch of other new directors were starting to make their mark. There were a few meta movies like this before, but none done as well I think, except maybe Blazing Saddles. Some others were meta but about different media, like Stay Tuned (1992), similar premise but TV, and Cloak and Dagger (1984), which isn't actually the same premise really, but it's an action movie about a kid with an imaginary friend who's kind of based on a real person and weirdly interacts with the real world. And of course there's a classic 80s movie which I can't name, because the fact that it's meta is basically a spoiler. The 90s really ramped up the meta movies, like Truman Show, Being John Malkovich, and even Pleasantville, and this one was, obviously to me now, an underrated fuckin gem.

Dioskur

The question about movies we'd like to visite: The rules of this movies are that the person stays the same but the rules of the world they are in apply to them. That is why Benedict stayed a perfect marksman and Slater stayed super strong. But real world bullets were dangerous. The "power gamer" I am, I would go to a world that can help me become a superior version of myself and take that effect with me. Like Slater took the wound with him. It cant be a magic effect because the magic effect would wear off once I exit the movie. It shouldn't be something with cybernetics because noone could repair it if it ever gets damaged plus I am not sure that made up tech would work in the real world. But something like a comedy with a training montage that turns the lazy kid into a top athlete should work, because the in-movie training is just super effective and helps the guy reach its peak. I'd just join in there and come out as an improved version of myself. Need to think about the right movie, there are so many of these :)

Chase Schleich

Agreed. Just watch them all and decide which ones you liked and which ones you didn't. Obviously none of them will top 1 or T2, but that doesn't mean you won't like some of them or even most of them. Same goes for the other Predator films. Some are good, but they've never topped the first 2. Still worth a watch though.

Gary Fixler

The guy on the red carpet who didn't like Arnold ("Arnold really turns her on, and I just want to be there when it happens"). That's actor Jim Belushi. His brother, John, was one of the 7 original cast members of SNL, and one of the The Blues Brothers (1977), with Dan Akroyd. John would've been in a lot more, but he OD'd in '82. I think Jim's in this movie, not liking Arnie as a joke, because they starred together in Red Heat (1988) 5 years earlier, where they played an odd-couple cop and detective forced to partner up to take down a bad guy. Edit: And I just got to the very end, where you both figured out it was Jim Belushi :-D

Raven Dark

What a great reaction, guys. I only saw this movie twice, and it was a long time ago, so I didn't remember much. I forgot how good it was. It's totally bonkers, but I love it. If I went into a movie, I would love to end up in Harry Potter. Though knowing my luck, I would end up as a Muggle. LOL

Gary Fixler

Oh, and the guy who stopped Arnold on the stairs - "Arnold, deal's done, right?" Slater V soundtrack!" - that's M.C. Hammer. While we're at it - that was actually Sharon Stone in her Basic Instinct attire at the police station, and Robert Patrick also pushes past them (the T-100 from T2: Judgement Day). I'm not sure if you recognized Tina Turner (RIP) early in the film, who's with the guy Arnold sucker punches in the nose as he's heading toward the building his chief doesn't want him to enter. There were others, too, like Tony Danza, Damon Wayans, and James Cameron.

Raven Dark

Oh, I left my above comment while you guys were still talking. The one Simone was talking about where Arnold is preggers is called Junior. It's actually pretty good. It doesn't sound like it would work, but it totally does. In my opinion, the only good Terminator movies are 1 and 2. The third film is too far of a step down. But there are a some people who like it. Also, you two should totally do both Twins and Kindergarten Cop. They're both great.

Einherj

I stopped watching TV over 20 years ago. It was just full of commercials and crap. You could buy or rent everything that was on and without ads.

Alan Kobb

Chevy Chase yelling at a deer sounds like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Haye Zeus

The movie has become a cult classic but it was a big time bomb when it came out. It didn’t leave much of a cultural impact like other Arnold movies. Still the kids who saw it like me loved it. If you were an Arnold fan this was so much fun. And it showed the guy can poke fun of himself which made him more endearing. But I guess people back then weren’t ready for that? I think there was Arnold fatigue at the time as well. I really don’t know why it didn’t become a hit. But I still love it and glad that you guys enjoyed it.

Haye Zeus

And I would also like to recommend Amadeus. It’s an awesome move even if it’s historically inaccurate. But I love it so definitely needs to be on the watch list

Joe Mallard

That was a very entertaining reaction. Oh and Simone, your hair is looking great!

Mati D.

Time to watch Amadeus, it won 8 Oscars.

Spacedone

End of Days is an underrated Arnie movie, And you might enjoy his recent Netflix series Fubar, which is basically True Lies but 30 years older.

Brian Harris

I wrote out a whole comment trying to explain the historical accuracy of the Mozart joke, but there’s no way to do it without spoiling Amadeus. Just watch it. Trust us. One of the best movies ever made. Also, I had not seen this in twenty years and I gotta tell you, I feel completely vindicated for loving it when it first came out. It’s so ahead of its time. If it came out today, it would have launched a franchise.

Joshua Gardiner

This movie is easily in the top three of my all time favorite movies.

Tanx

this movie had such a great soundtrack. remember getting on tape and then later on cd when i was a kid. the 555 thing is designated for movies because it used to be directory assistance. now it's just a non-assigned number combination for US phones. otherwise movie production companies would get in trouble when someone started getting random calls from people asking for movie characters. I wish this movie had done better in theaters. loved this world and it had so many openings for sequels. F. Murray Abraham played Salieri in Amadeus where he basically considered Mozart his nemesis. Also another good 90s action movie that is pretty unique is Cliffhanger with Stallone. Would also be good to watch if you are planning to watch Ace Ventura 2. If I landed in a movie I would do Star Wars. Would steal a dead Jedi's lightsaber after the purge and fly a light freighter back into the real world. Or maybe a One Piece movie and steal a devil fruit. Or Star Trek and steal holodeck tech and make millions getting someone to reverse engineer it.

Steve H

"I thought Mozart died at home? lol. Watch "Amedeas"

IncredibleBulk

hmmm what movie would i jump into... maybe Android Night Punch

Lothian55

Great reaction. I guess I'd be Happy Gilmore's caddy :P

Tim Pierce

A great sequel to this would have been Schwarzenegger going INTO the movie and having to pretend to be Jack Slater. The reverse fish out of water.

John

I would go into a Star Trek TNG Movie at a scene where they are at a star base. I would then destroy the tickets and turn myself over to Worf and get sent back to Earth to live the rest of my life in a dream utopia.

Amelie W

I'd go into Grave of the Fireflies. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I don't want to use this magic just to entertain myself or make my life easier. You'd want a movie where you can make a difference to the story without putting yourself in extreme danger or Mary Sueing over the main characters; why not be an adult who can support and comfort the little orphans living in a cave?

TomGas2025

Hope there will be an uncovered version of this soon...👍🙏
