I don't know how it does it, but this movie both makes me crave and feel disgusted by tater tots simultaneously.

At least it’s done and we never have to talk about it again. What about Just Like Heaven for peak Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo and palatable doses of Heder and Donal Logue

Saliv-88

One of the funniest movies ever IMO. Also there’s an after credits scene showing La Fawnduh and Kip’s wedding.

Jason Pratt

Loved the reaction! For me, this was one of those movies I had to watch more than once to appreciate it. I think it was in a more rural area of Idaho.

Making the “bad” dancing by Jon Heder even better is the fact it wasn’t choreographed. He just made it up on the spot.

There's a fun documentary available for free on YouTube called "On Location: Napoleon Dynamite". It has some great behind-the-scenes footage, including detailed discussions about the logistics for the steak toss scene (and it turns out that the steak wasn't meant to hit Napoleon in the face, but the actors didn't break character so they kept the scene in the movie). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe6_y5KIvgc

That computer was def from the early 90s. This is a movie you like more on repeat viewings. And you guys never having seen Jon Heder means you've never seen "Blades Of Glory" and this must be corrected! It's freaking hilarious-you'll love it.

The documentary also shows that it took three takes to film the bike jump scene. Poor John Heder really sacrificed his body for this movie!

George and these jokes... only him. lol

Anthony James Marshall

Jared Hess the director basically said that in Utah everything feels decades behind in terms of of fashion so that's what this films outfits feel outdated

@12:40 - It's made for kids lanes, so it will help the ball go back in the middle to practice. It's suppose to be funny that he uses the kids training wheel stuff.

“School for Scoundrel's” was made a number years later with Napoleon or John Heder and Billy Bob Thorton and Michael Clark Duncan from the Green Mile, its hilarious about Napoleon or rather John as a lowly parking lot authority cop and billy bob teaches him how to be badass to “pick up” the girl of his dreams. One of the best comedies, gonna get it on a list some day lol

Jobbe Smit

This reaction is almost as much fun as the movie.

[Replacing my original orphaned comment with an older one:] This leads me to revisit my quixotic campaign for people not to delete their comments once others have responded. If you must "take back" your comment, fine. Do so by choosing "Edit comment" and erase all of it. But if you choose "Delete comment," you are also in effect deleting the comments of everyone who made the effort to respond. This strikes me as singularly ungracious, analogous to flipping over the board.

??? Wow, Joaquin Phoenix [shout-out to my immediately preceding comment] is truly unrecognizable! I remember first encountering Kevin Nowlan (no, not Adam Sandler's friend) as the artist for New Mutants #51. I was ... puzzled.

As to the time period... Uncle Rico was pining for 82...Napolean said he was 32...which woudl put him in HS about 14 years prior...so would put it around 96...which tracks...Kip talkin in chat rooms..Internet def not around in the 80s...ha

Jack Burton

also gotta keep in mind that rural mid-western America is always like 10-20 behind in fashion and some technology... but the computer was legit early-90's.

804Media

It's amazing how the time period has become such a topic of discussion. As someone who can recall memories prior to 2000, I can assure you no one who saw this movie when it came out ever questioned it. It's just rural Idaho. :-P

Anyone who thinks there is no such thing as bad art is hereby invited to contact me for commissions.

the most quotable movie in history

Be Human

This movie was made for 400K, that's what's so awesome about it.

Sorry to be that guy but it's "Napoleon"
