What a movie! The new one is amazing too

dieselbeast

I wish I could get into this one, because I do enjoy spider man but animation is so hard for me to invest in 🤷 but to those who enjoy it awesome! 👍

Ginger

Oh Nice! <3 I always love dropping in on thursdays and sundays to be surprised what you watched. :)

Elroy

Well now just gotta wait for across the spider verse lol

notpressinx

Best Spider-Man movie imo

zak

I agree with you George, I'd love for you to do the Daredevil series, such a great character!

MacGuffinStuff

Cool! Get to re-watch this after work. Spider-Man is my all time favorite super hero since I was a kid saving up to buy the MacFarlane comics. Just a fun badass character. And the idea to have multiple Spideys, a multiverse, is just chef's kiss genius 👍 I haven't seen but heard that the newest one is good too.

JayF

TBH, I'm very burned out on all things Marvel, SW, or LotR. They've all beaten a dead horse, pissed on it, and burned it. I've heard great things about this one so I will give it a watch because I get to do so with you two. The animated super hero movie I'd love to see you react to is Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (2016). Peter Weller (Robocop) voices Batman and it's incredible. Fighting hard not to post a spoiler to try to entice you to watch it so I'll stop here.

Andrew Howard

Oh man, this movie really just blew away what I thought I could expect from animation. This had been sitting nice at the top of my best animated movies list until the sequel came out.

Viktor M

Still the best Spider Man Movie for me :) And Miles spider costume design is just superb.

JediLounger

I've been thinking that I wanted to replay Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales before Spider-Man 2 comes out in October. Watching this with you guys is really making me want to act on that idea.

Odd Thomas

Why do the new Spider-man movies have such similar titles? It drives me nuts. Homecoming, Far From Home, No Way Home, Into the Spider-verse, Across the Spider-verse... (Ross voice) I'm fine!

Odd Thomas

I think if you drink like 27 cups of coffee in a day you'll die. I'm not quite there yet. YET.

Roxolan

The reactions are out of sync. You're about 5 seconds behind the movie. It's most noticeable in those moments that switch between drama and comedy so suddenly.

Twiska Brand

The reference footage and your commentary desync after a while. I didn't notice it till the Prowler Jump scare.

Tenn Seven

I'm with George; I absolutely love this movie. The art is just amazing and they nailed pretty much every other aspect as well. EDIT: One thing that would have been cool is if they had gotten Vincent D'Onofrio to do Kingpin's voice. Not that Liev Schreiber didn't totally nail it, I've just been a huge D'Onofrio fan since forever.

Jacob

As other have pointed out you have a weird desync issue. Even though my copy and your copy are visually synced almost perfectly your reactions are a couple seconds behind. It gets worse the longer the movie goes.

Cinebinge

yep there seems to be a sync problem after a bathroom break... new version rendering now. hopefully ready within the hour

The sequel is even better

Mike

I haven't seen the sequel, but this is the best Spiderman movie I've ever seen bar none. No way home is a close 2nd, but this movie really captures absolutely everything that is awesome about Spiderman and is an incredible watch. I'll enjoy watching it with you guys.

Śéáń

This is a film I can rewatch regularly, it's a total loveletter to the Spider-Man character while doing a great job with Miles himself. The sequel is really great too, I'm looking forward to its digital release as some friends missed it in cinema, so I'll likely be viewing it a few times after it's available.

Julian Calzada

damn i just finished watching all of the broken one :O

Tenn Seven

I did too. After I realized I just kept pausing mine until it seemed like their reactions were matching up with what was happening on mine. At least it wasn't messed up until the final scenes.

offbrandhotdogs

Looks like this version syncs perfectly. Thanks for posting the fixed version quickly. Fun fact, the guy who says "I think it's a Banksy." is voiced by Post Malone.

Tyler Foster

Another great animated superhero movie that I highly recommend is The LEGO Batman Movie. Only thing is that you should probably react to Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992) first, although it's not essential. It also (to my memory) does not reference The LEGO Movie at all so it is not necessary to do that one beforehand.

gobmob2000

Kingpin has a genetic anomaly which means he does not stop growing muscles, his body mass is mostly muscle which makes him stronger then a regular person. But he is still not as strong as spider man. Peter Parker spider man is a LOT stronger then kingpin, in one comic story, kingpin hurt Aunt may, so peter, being very angry, went to Kingpins prison without any of his gadget, no webs and he did not use any fancy martial arts, he just challenged kingpin to a fist fight, and he beat the crap out kingping, it wasn't even close. Miles Morales spider man is not quite as strong as peter parker, maybe about 1/5 of peter's strength but i would say is still probably 2-3 times stronger then kingpin.

Honestly, do people still use desktops? Like, win+"search entry" or pinned applications on the taskbar is infinitely better than win+D'ing (because who hasn't a browser window open these days at all times, two if you're on ultrawide or dual, probably)... and even if you go overboard, I'd rather hide all the icons and go for the tiny taskbar.

sarCC

Great timing, as the sequel will be on digital next week.

Teyon Alexander

Peter can officially lift ten tons but he has been shown to be capable error lifting significantly more than that (upwards of 50). Pounds he Spider-Man game for PS4 came out a little before the movie did and the suit made for the game make an appearance in the film, which is neat .

Chase Lonnergan

A very special occasion for me... George mispronounced my name TWICE in one week. Hell yeah!

Kevin Bartelen

Kingpin does have a power of sorts. As big as he is, it's ALL muscle. He is inhumanly strong and can take a lot of "hurt" without even flinching. As for Miles in the comics, he comes from a run called Ultimate Spider-Man when they wanted a young Spider-Man for a younger audience but they didn't want to end or re-boot the original Amazing Spider-Man run so they made an alternate dimension Spider-Man who's still young. After the Ultimate Spider-Man comics ended I believe they did some shenanigans to bring Miles into the main canon universe. And the original Spider-Man is still running, and has not been reset. All the other alternates are just options they wanted to try for fun.

djKENTO

Hey George, The Spider-Man story isn’t reset every couple years. In fact Marvel differentiates itself from DC by not restarting the universe really ever. They did start the ULTIMATE Marvel comics run in the early 2000s. The intent was give new readers a place to start once Marvel movies started getting popular. It was really hard to sell people on X-Men or Spider-Man comics because they had 40 years of connected stories. So they started The Ultimate universe which is where Miles got his start. That universe collapsed and Miles became a part of the original Marvel continuity. There’s are infinite realities and variations essentially but Marvel Comics are Universe 616 and that’s been going since Stan Lee’s days.

Cubonemaker

So excited for this! 2nd favorite Spidery movie, after Across the Spiderverse

Young Blood Priest

When I started collecting comics in the 70s Kingpin had peak human strength from years of turning fat into muscle. The genetic abnormality came years after I stopped reading so I’m learning something new with your post. Anyway, that’s what makes Kingpin a much better Daredevil villain. The power dynamics are more even.

Young Blood Priest

When I saw this movie pop up on my tablet it made morning. Enjoyed watching with you guys.

George, If you were with me, you wouldn't be here in this strip club shaking it for dollar bills!

🖤I feel like Simone gravitated towards the out-of-shape version of Peter Parker making him her favorite of all the spider peeps is because he's voiced by Jake Johnson aka Nick from New Girl. He's totally Nick if he was Spider-Man. Also, fact for Simone (George already seemed to be aware of this) but the character Donald Glover played in the first MCU Spider-Man "Homecoming" was the same character who was Mile's Uncle in this movie (The Prowler). He mentioned to Tom Holland he had a nephew who lives in that neighborhood so he was referring to Miles Morales indirectly, not by name.

Marko T.

I recommend Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993). Its an animated movie that was released in theaters. Its based on The Animated Series but is very standalone.

Jacob King

This is a great movie and you’re both going to love the next one. Everything gets turned up a couple of notches. George mentioned The Little Prince in the intro, I think one of the Spider-Man directors wrote the screenplay, it’s a really interesting film that pushed against the mainstream of western animation at the time (2015) and maybe got ignored by some animation fans because it was marketed as an adaptation of the book but it’s much more a sequel/reimagining. It’s a good watch if you’re in the mood for a serious melancholic kid’s movie.

Ginger

For more animated greatness, I highly recommend "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs".

Levi Curry

This Stan Lee cameo is one of my favorites and simultaneously the hardest for me to watch. This was the first one after he had passed away the month previously. When he says, "We'll miss him", it hits really hard.

Tanx

so many easter eggs in this one and the next one. watched this movie 10 times at least before i noticed the Donald Glover video on uncle Aaron's tv in the Spider-Man shirt. so got to see both versions of Uncle Aaron in one shot. Such a fun movie.

Tanx

lol i reinstalled both games every time I watch a spider-man movie or tv show. too bad the 2nd won't be out on PC for another few years. really don't want to have to waste money on a console to play 1 game(already had to do this with zelda BotW and TotFK). also would have to buy an xbox layout controller because ps controllers cramp my hands up really bad.

William Moffett

I forgot how specific the searches are on Patreon. I couldn't find this movie until I noticed there's a "dash" between spider-man. spiderman and spider man show zero results lol

Amelie W

Kingpin "technically" doesn't have powers, but he can be assumed to have any sci-fi stealth weapons at hand that money can buy, and he's a sumo grandmaster, reliably able to overpower most of the world's greatest athletes and martial artists. So basically he's Batman, but stronger. And without moral limitations. And with an army of mercenaries. I do like a competent villain but since I thought of the Batman comparison I'm wondering how he ever loses.

jay

that’s so cool! Rewatching this for the millionth time now and I only just noticed the frame, and from afar I was super tripped out because my very first instinct was it being Miles in a Spider-Man costume since I couldn’t see very well.
