Well if Simone is gonna be the gopher in the thumbnail, I'd damn sure better see the gopher dance in the video.

Jason Pratt

If you want some more 80s Ramis and Murray with a bit of John Candy, I can’t recommend Stripes high enough!!!

This was Rodney Dangerfield’s first movie- he thought he was bombing bc all the cast and crew weren’t reacting. Coming from a stand up background, he used audience feedback as his gauge to See how well he was doing. It had to be explained to him that it would ruin the take if anyone laughed.

Kate Zimmerman

Ted Knight is absolutely the best thing about this movie, even with Bill Murray. (Okay, it’s a tie, plus the gopher.) And yes, Rodney Dangerfield is playing himself, or at least his insult comedy bit, in pretty much every movie he’s in. Last - if Simone is talking about Robin Williams’ bit on the Scottish inventing golf, that’s a good bit later, early 2000s.

This is one of my favorite movies ever. Rodney, Murray, Chevy Chase and Ted Knight are all awesome.

A must-watch Dangerfield movie is "Back to School" from 1986 (which features a *very* young Robert John Downey Jr). Dangerfield's performance in Caddyshack is his quintessential comedy persona. Here's one of Rodney's classic appearances with Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2gw-asbBIM

I was introduced to Dangerfield through the movie Ladybugs lol I loved that movie as a kid

If you want more of Rodney Dangerfield, check out Back To School.

I loved Ladybugs as a kid and then realized... oooh boy it's pretty damn creepy in retrospect. They did an episode of How Did This Get Made on it with Patton Oswalt as the special guest, and it really kinda opened my eyes to how supremely weird and tonally all over the place the movie was. (Also highly recommend that episode, it's hilarious and features a random appearance in the crowd from the woman who played Penny and told stories about being on that set).

You guys gotta react to Fletch. I have no idea why there are so little reactions to that movie. It’s one of the better comedies ever made. Right up there with Airplane. Chevy Chase at his absolute best.

John DelVecchio

Dangerfield and Joe Pesci in “Easy Money” tremendous!

Rob Church

Simone in this thumbnail reminds me of "The Dreams at witch House" by Lovecraft.

Happy Hanukkah

I'd also love to have a reaction to Back to School (1986). Trouble is that if once you have reacted to Dangerfield, you never get rid of him. (As my good friend Rudy used to say.)

for the drink scene Chevy was filling up half empty bottle of Perrier cause he didn't have an unopened full one. He was shaking it so it would be fizzy, what you expect from a freshly opened bottle. the shot he didn't take was tequila.

Besides Caddyshack, I think the best performances of Chevy Chase that still hold up are Fletch (1985), Three Amigos (1986), and Christmas Vacation (1989). Chase's heyday was in the 70s and 80s, but nothing he did from 1990 on is worth watching - except maybe Community (TV Comedy), but he's the weakest part of that and was such a pain in the ass behind the scenes that he was written out of the show. European Vacation is okay, not great. But definitely check out the other three I mentioned above. Simone doing the gopher dance: https://youtu.be/P_k_OPGE7CE?t=6111 in the Patreon version. Now we just need a looping GIF of it.

And in case Chevy Chase is not enough, the other two Amigos are Steve Martin and Martin Short. (The movie is enjoyable, albeit not as much as one might hope given the three stars' comedic talents.)

Rodney Dangerfield: when i was born the doctor slapped my mother

Great Fun... Leave Your Mind On Your Way Into The Theater... Pick-It Up On Your Way Out...

Matthew Doherty

"Eeeww. I hope whatever just floated by was a candybar."

This is my dad’s favorite movie

As people mentioned above, the wonderful Back To School(The first movie I saw boobs in, in the theater with my parents). There is also Easy Money from 1983.

You'd be surprised how well some rich old golfer's tip. I worked at a country club and just did little shit like empty golf carts of trash and wash the dirt off clubs when they come in to grab a drink or food before they head out to the back 9. It's actually impressive how many people will throw you 20 or 40 bucks for whipping down a couple clubs or grabbing them a bucket of balls for the driving range. I'd be surprised if caddies didn't get great tips. Rich people don't want to spend their money but they want to do physical things even less so they'll pay good money to make someone else do it for them. lol

Russ Verbofsky

the whole cast was drunk and stoned while making this movie
