The last weekly polls winner was Scream however we hear you regarding the concerns about spoilers for other films so we will post pone that viewing and go to the 2nd place winner instead, which is Poltergeist. Which will be available this Saturday. Remember, you can vote for multiple films!Reminder: movies that don't win does not mean they will never be watched, it just means they will be watched later. Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies :)

Comments

Jeff K.

I mean I love all of these movies so… all of them? But mostly Field of Dreams.

Calvin Allen

So Scream won and you're not going to do it 😭

Jay Davis

I'll do my part to try and keep Field Of Dreams in the hunt while Moneyball, a great movie, prolly runs away with it.

Marko T.

Suggestions: Batman (1989) and The Naked Gun 2 (1991)

DemNikoArt

I hope there will be a comedy soon. If so, I have some suggestions :) - Blades of Glory (Ridiculous comedy with Will Ferrell and John Heder about two competing male ice skaters that need to work together) - Starsky & Hutch (Ben Stiller and Owen Willson teaming up again, I mean... c'mon 😁) - Palm Springs (groundhog Day with Andy Samberg) - Cloudy with a chance of meatballs (Lord & Miller's first directed animated movie, has already their super hilarious humour) - Wedding Crashers (Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson crashing weddings 😄 ) - Beerfest (ridiculous comedy about a group of friends who compete in an international beer drinking contest) - Thank you for smoking (Satire about the smoking lobby, with Aaron Eckhart and Katie Holmes) - Mars Attacks (A comedy from Tim Burton about Aliens attacking Earth with an insane Cast including, Pierce Brosnan, Jack Nicholson, Jack Black, Glen Close, Michael J Fox etc.) - Just Friends (Silly comedy with Ryan Reynolds & Amy Smart)

Simon Clifton

Hi all! Well, based on George's admission about being a Kevin when watching BeetleJuice; bit early, but maybe a watch of the 2 part miniseries of Hogfather in the run up to Christmas?

Martin

To all of those that complained about viewing Scream due to spoilers, I thank you. Not because of spoilers, but because I chose Poltergeist over Scream. :)

Duncan

Edit Very much looking forward to a couple of classic horror movies that will proceed prior to Scream ,this is a win win all round ,as Scream winning means viewers will get to enjoy a package deal of a few classic movies as well as getting to enjoy Scream in it's full context 💛

Joshua DeRoode

Along the sports theme , I would suggest Mr. Baseball with Tom Seleck or Major League. Other than sports I suggest Cannonball run 1 and 2.

Nicodemus Archleone

Future Sports polls may want to include Rush. An amazing biopic of two F1 drivers and their rivalry. Starring Chris Hemsworth & Daniel Brühl.

JayF

I've seen all of these except The Sandlot. All are good movies. Field of Dreams is my favorite on the list. Miracle, Moneyball, and A League of Their Own are also favorites of mine. Remember the Titans I've just already seen a lot of reactions to. Future sports movie poll suggestions - Bull Durham North Dallas Forty The Longest Yard (original not remake) Victory (underrated Stallone movie) For the Love of the Game On the Edge (1986 movie about running) The World's Fastest Indian The Jericho Mile (made for TV movie about running)

rycolaa

More sports for next time: A Knight's Tale (Jousting with Heath Ledger) The Replacements (Football with Keanu) Draft Day (Football with Kevin Costner)

Ronny Boss

I'm a little sad that Mystery Alaska didn't find its way to the poll. Miracle got my vote

Kiana

I’m not gonna lie I’m very disappointed that after it won the poll that the next movie that they’re gonna watch will not be scream . I voted for the sandlot but all these movies on this poll are amazing though.

Nemo

I know a lot of people consider the third Monty Python movie to be a step below the previous in the trilogy, but I hope they finish it some day. The Meaning of Life is very underrated in my opinion, it has lots of fun skits. :)

JoeySnowyNoey

Miracle is an amazing movie! Another movie made by the same dude is Warrior (2011) stars Tom Hardy, and is a banger of a movie. So underrated and so good.

Byron

Remember the Titans because I wanna know what they think of a young Avon Barksdale

Jeff K.

So Miracle, Moneyball, and Remember the Titans are all “based on a true story”; in terms of accuracy/faithfulness to the real stories they go in that order too. (A League of Their Own is inspired by a real league but that’s where it stops, and basically everything else is fictionalized, so I didn’t include it.) Miracle is by far the most historically accurate, Titans is the least by a pretty wide margin (mainly for a couple pretty significant bits of fudging the facts). I still love all of the movies listed, to be clear. Just grain of salt for the “based on a true story” stuff tied to each of them, for George and Simone’s info. (I probably care way more about this than most people; in fairness, back in the day I wrote a couple articles for Cracked about "based on a true story" movies that were bullshit so it's apparently become my burden to bear ever since... hahaha.)

Black Heart Games

Have you guys seen The Blind Side? If not, would love you to watch that one day.

streaky

NGL another surprising poll state - I voted for Moneyball because it's a great biopic and tbh Simone likes Sorkin and if she hasn't seen it she should (one day we'll get you guys watching the 2015 Steve Jobs - he was a clown don't @ me, still a great movie and a masterclass in making biopics, screenwriting, acting and directing - for similar reasoning, MMW) - but I'm surprised Field of Dreams isn't winning, people go mad for that movie usually.

Mathew Hill

I think the only sports movie I've ever watched was BASEketball (1998) directed by David Zucker (Naked Gun) and staring the South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. As a 12 year old I enjoyed the puerile humour. Not sure it would stand the test of time though.

QuiGon_Jim (Howe)

Theres nothing really there for me personally this week.. now if 'The Goon' or 'The Longest Yard' or 'Mean Machine' was on the list, I'd have something to get behind.

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Most of these are very good films..not too shocked the one I think it the least reaction worthy is winning but it is what it is (I still think it is an excellent film btw, I just don't think great for reaction)...I voted for The Sandlot because it has always struck a chord w me.. Best movie on the list imo is either Field of Dreams or A League of their own...

ChrisXIllustrates

Hey Cinebinge my birthday is next week Oct. 9th can y'all do a Scary Movie 1 reaction?

Lola Lirola

More sports movies for next time, with women so that there's not the usual one only option! Bend it Like Beckham (women's football is finally on the map!) Love and Basketball (the sport is in the title, and this is an incredible movie) I, Tonya (Margot Robbie has always meant business and I love her for it) Blue Crush (it's like Point Break with girls! cheesy as hell, but it's good quality cheese) Bring It On (cheerleading is an athletic sport, and this is a perfect 2000s movie) Whip It (everyone's favorite indie actors doing roller derby!)

Martin

Hoosiers needs to be on one of these sports polls one day. A classic movie that is considered by many as one of the top sports movies ever made.

LaserLamb

All I want is to see you guys watch the following movies: What's Up, Doc? Grosse Pointe Blank Magnolia What Dreams May Come Being John Malkovich Adaptation Watch those & my time on Earth will have been justified. Not a big sports guy, but A League of Their Own is good, & I haven't seen Moneyball yet, but it has a great cast. I saw Field of Dreams when it came out & hated it. I think of it as "Adults Of the Corn"🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽 🌽 Cheers CineBusters!

Middy

Sounds like they're gonna get to Scream pretty quickly, the biggest downside is having to sit through the dated and generic Friday the 13th first. It's a little ironic though, as watching that spoils the opening scene of Scream, in a sense. The ideal scenario is that you've forgotten that particular plot point, so you experience the same sense of dread the character does. George and Simone are just going to know immediately and there won't be any "gotcha" moment.

Random Nevermind

I personally do not like sports movies. There are some outstanding ones like "Eddie The Eagle" or very well done ones like "Million Dollar Babe", "Rocky". But mostly when I am watching such movies I feel a constant deja-vu. Moneyball is a good movie but it is still very predictable and full of old tricks. My suggestion for the next poll: "Eddie the Eagle" kinda pretty unusual sports movie.

Eric

I feel like this poll is missing Rudy. :-)

Tay Schumaker

Lot of really good choices here. Feel like Moneyball would be the one you would like the most, based on it seems like you both don't have a huge knowledge of sport. But really all of these are pretty great.

Sean Barbante

One sports movie I've never seen a reaction for is "Eight Men Out." I think it would pair nicely with "Field of Dreams," but it looks like that won't win anyway.

JP11

Miracle being last in this poll is most likely just a representation of how many American subscribers you have. Dont be fooled, its the best movie on this list

Cavatica

This Sporting Life is arguably the greatest sports film ever made, aside from Raging Bull if you count that. But I'll vote from what's here.

Nemo

If I could give another recommendation that I think is overlooked and not a lot of people know about. Ladder 49. It's the first movie I saw with Joaquin Phoenix and it's sad that not a lot of people know about it.

Andrew Charles

Jerry Maguire is a "sports" movie? Unlike Slapshot, of course...

Art Perez

You should put warrior with Tom Hardy it's a great sports movie

keeperofthegloom

Legit surprised Miracle isn't getting more traction, but at least Moneyball is in the lead.

TechPriest

This is a hard poll - these are all excellent films.

James Hadden

It appears that sports movies are not really on my radar as I’ve only seen 2 of these choices and one of those was through another reaction channel. I guess I can add a third shortly

Chase Lonnergan

Hmm. This is an odd one for me. The "best" movies on here aren't really what I would consider "sports" movies. Insofar as they aren't about playing the sport itself, but are rather about people in positions around the sport. Can we really say that Field of Dreams is ABOUT baseball? Same question for Moneyball and Jerry Maguire (different sport, same question). Tough call for me. I am still gonna campaign for: Clue Beverly Hills Cop 2 The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) From Dusk 'til Dawn Tremors Short Circuit Dexter (Seasons 1-5 only) And for sports movies? The Longest Yard Major League (The Ted Lasso Parallel is fun) The Replacements Necessary Roughness The Mighty Ducks Slapshot (You guys are Canadian, you gotta watch Slapshot)

Michael Gryphon

For the love of the children inside of you, you must watch The Sandlot

Michael Buhl

Slap Shot (1977) has some moments that have aged very poorly, but it's still the only sports movie I can think of that I care about.

Jiawei

You can't go wrong with any of these. They're all great movies!!

Chris H.

One of the best sports movies ever made -- but kind of lost over time -- is Breaking Away. Huge, sleeper hit back in 1979, launched a couple of careers, always a crowd-pleaser.

Kevin Kuma

Got some real heavy hitters on here!

JD Nevesytrof

Oh my god why is Field of Dreams not higher

David Crabtree

Remember the Titans is one of my top 10 favorite films. Field of Dreams is great as well.

Walter White

The sandlot is the epitome of my childhood

j c

Since you liked Ford vs Ferrari, may I recommend a better Motorsports movie that went under the radar but is also a true story and has a fantastic performance by Daniel Bruhl: Rush (2013). Yes the title is terrible, but don't judge a book by its cover

Mattmartigan

That’s a good list, all winners there

Alex Ch

Disappointed at the performance of Jerry Maguire, but thanks for putting it in a poll.

Rachel W

Moneyball is a beautiful film-and like Miracle, a true story, but you have to know something about baseball or at least a comparable love of some other sport to fully appreciate it and as we know, neither S or G are into sports. But, I think the'd both enjoy the math aspect of the film.

JoeE

Would recommend slap shot and kingpin

Pearl Jam

I suppose Scream does spoil a little: Psycho (1960) Halloween (1978) Friday the 13th (1980) Prom Night (1980) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Khan1001

Moneyball is great, you should add 'Any Given Sunday' (1999, Al Pacino) to your list.

Rudy Hernandez

I can’t believe y’all haven’t seen A League of Their Own. This shouldn’t even be on a poll, y’all should just watch it lol.

CD

As most others have said...stacked poll! For the 1st time...I voted for 3 titles (as I agree with what someone else said: a vote for "all", is a vote for "none"; but in this case...I just couldn't help it). I tend to vote, based on what I think makes the best reaction; not necessarily, what is the best movie. Remember the Titans, is a feel-good...with a decent performance by Denzel. A League of Their Own is fun/funny...in a way that's easily relatable; and Jerry Maguire is the ultimate SportsRom (with the cute Renee Zellweger, everyone my age...fell in love with). Field of Dreams is great, of course; but the Mysticism may not sit with some. And Moneyball...which looks like the front-runner; well...no spoilers, but I agree with others. You kinda need to know "just enough" about Sabermetrics, to get the ah-ha of it.

sarCC

Let the Hockey Country people watch the hockey movie! Just kidding, though I did immediately vote for Miracle, my favorite hockey movie after Goon(which I highly recommend). But I do hope A League Of Their Own wins; such a great movie filled with hilarious performances. In the same vein, I also recommend Bull Durham and White Men Can't Jump.

James Falato

For Me... "Jerry Maguire" told Them that a "Field of Dreams" is what is needed for "A League of Their Own"...

JK

Damn… Sandlot, Remember the Titans, Field of Dreams, and Jerry Maguire losing to Moneyball has me questioning the world as a whole

Jay

If Halloween is on the watchlist, obviously makes sense to watch it before Scream. I assume Friday the 13th is also on the watchlist then? If so, I suggest watching Halloween first. It's not essential, just that the creators of Friday are very open about the fact they basically ripped off Halloween, in the hope of repeating it's financial success. I'm not even a big fan of Friday the 13th (I prefer the shitty sequels) but it has one thing Halloween didn't, Tom Savini and his skills provide a few great moments. Also, it always surprises reactors because of...... well, the crucial bit of info we get 2 minutes into Scream. I hope October isn't just a slasher history lesson though:)

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Request Trifecta of movies I don't think I've seen requested yet - Silver Linings Playbook (2012) - The Secret Life of Bees (2008) - The Book Thief (2013)

Alex Ch

My favorite film about kids playing baseball is the original Bad News Bears. Maybe the divide between that and the Sandbox is a generational thing.

dave

holy cow, watch them all. soo many classics on there.

Kelly Pickard

OMG, I hope Moneyball wins. SUCH an interesting take on the sports movie genre, and easy for anyone to enjoy. If it wins and they watch it, I hope this helps prompt them to try The Big Short next.

Tim T—

Not into most sports movies, except one, which I leave here for a futere poll: Chariots of Fire (1981)

Seymor Butz

How are the sandlot and Jerry Mcguire ranked so low in the poll.

Astraeos

Wise choice to hold off on Scream for now. Those who voted for it hopefully will understand. Can't wait to see Poltergeist. They're hereee! Also Remember the Titans losing so badly hurts my soul. I've honestly never even heard of Moneyball. Oh well. Another great sport movie that nobody ever watches is Friday Night Lights (2004). Much more based off the book, and its way more than just about sports.

Terdell Ferguson

I would add "INVINCIBLE" to this list, or at the very least, at some point. An amazing true story.

Cubonemaker

How is Sandlot so low???

Brandon Fong

The sports comedy "Cool Runnings" would make for a great reaction. One of my favorite John Candy films

Timothy Burrows

How is Miracle so low. They are Canadians you guys.

Eversharpe

C'mon you're Canadians, where's the hockey love? I'm kidding. But unless you've already both seen it, Slap Shot, it's a cult classic and it's got Paul Newman for eye candy

Mike Adams

Angels in the Outfield Little Big League Rookie of the Year

Ben

You've already reacted to a few of the movies I've been suggesting, and I loved each of your reactions! So I'm updating my list of suggestions... An updated, random assortment of movies I'd love to see you react to; 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' (1988) 'Horns' (2013) 'Little Miss Sunshine' (2006) 'Edward Scissorhands' (1990) 'Parenthood' (1989) Wayne's World' (1992) 'Dead Poets Society' (1989) 'One Hour Photo' (2002) 'Labyrinth' (1986) 'North by Northwest' (1959)

Deserana12

Easy vote for Moneyball which, seeing as it is largely an Aaron Sorkin written film, allows me to BEG you guys to please include The Social Network on a poll! It’s become one of the movies that perfectly encapsulates the last decade

Christopher Carson

Surprised the Sandlot was on this list. It is in nearly every top 3 sports movies of all time. It really captured growing up and finding yourself.

Jay Davis

The Natural really can't be overstated as a wonderfully beautiful story wrapped inside an understated baseball movie... imo.

Jay Davis

I'm kind of surprised at the vote so far. Moneyball is a fantastic movie, but Field of Dreams is a classic.

Daniel Bjork

Field of Dreams is the greatest (American) father/son movie of all time, prove me wrong.

Logan Kerlee

Each of these movies are great, but I'm hoping for my childhood movie to win: The Sandlot! I love that movie so much. :)

Jorge Lopez

Remember the Titans deserves more love.

Jacob King

I think this community might skew a little nerdy which is why the stats movie is winning. I know that’s why I voted for it.

Cavatica

Again, best sports films are This Sporting Life and Raging Bull.

BlindPanda

You should probably watch all of theses haha

David N

I wish the polls were split up between decades/generations. When you have 80s/90s movies against 2000 and newer all of the young (and numerous) voters will just go for the one thing thats familiar. Moneyball is fine but its near the bottom of this poll imo.

Salvatron

Miracle losing?? Where are these patrons from?

Darin Foat

Moneyball isn't a bad movie. But I do think it would be kind of a dull choice for a reaction channel. I come here to see George and Simone get emotional, dang it! And I think any other movie on the list would provoke more exciting reactions.

Til

What about Cool Runnings?

p0sthum4n

Baseketball needs to make it to more Sports movie polls

Ashcroft Production-House

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO THE HARLEY QUINN SHOW ON HBOMAX / MAX PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Kameron Webb

I'd really love a Warrior reaction. It's about a teacher who becomes an MMA fighter. It has some phenomenal actors in it Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte to name a few!

Joe Mallard

Warrior would make a great reaction, so would Rocky 3.

ThePVO

Moneyball is a great movie (and a better book) but it is a serious movie about the business of MLB. I think it does require a basic understanding of how MLB is set up and operates. I feel like MLB permeates American life to the degree that even non-fans still have an innate concept of how long the season is, what the leagues and divisions are, and how the post-season and World Series are structured. Not to mention statistics: Hits, Runs, RBIs, OBP, Strikes, Balls, Walks, etc... I'd really recommend a few minutes on wiki to familiarize yourselves with these basics before watching. It'll be interesting to see if the context of the story translates to non-Amerivan, non-baseball fans.

Jake Peco

The Wrestler(2008)

Pete Luhtaniemi

Baseketball from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, pretty please

Trevor Rotan

Moneyball is the best baseball movie of all time.

DM DC

That's a good call. And Poltergeist is a great film too! Looking forward to that! I really can't wait for you two to see Scream, such a great film. But You'll need to see Friday the 13th first if you haven't already done so. And Halloween if you haven't seen that. That might be all you'll need. You've seen A Nightmare on Elm Street. So that I believe will cover ya.

Chase Schleich

I think Simone would adore A League of Their Own, even not being a baseball fan. It's more about a sisterly rivalry and Tom Hanks being awesome.

Steve H

groundhog day

Joh

Nooooooooo scream was such a good movie finally 😩😩😩. Y'all are never gonna watch the movies they are referencing so who cares 😭😭

Joh

And watch it chapter two please, it's been more than a year thank you love you

ShōNuff3K

Wow! Moneyball won!? Just an okay movie. Field of Dreams much better. The Natural was better. Major League great. Oh well. You can't please everyone unless we all live to be 235 years old.

ShōNuff3K

Also, I believe Miracle is the movie that Lasso's pregame speech came from. 55% sure.

Guy-on-Couch

you should watch all these movies btw

jackthegent

field of dreams needs to be done at some point
