This movie goes so hard. Excited to rewatch it this morning over breakfast.

This is where the fun begins

The Longest Pee by Adam Sandler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srq09I_6Eow The wolf was inspired by Akira Kurosawa films as per the director from this article. Warning: Some indirect spoilers for other inspirations (various spaghetti westerns). There are various shots and situations taken straight from those movies throughout The Last Wish. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, etc. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/awards/story/2023-02-21/puss-in-boots-takes-inspiration-from-classic-films

I hear ya, Simone. Whenever Antonio is talking, I keep sliding outta my chair.

It takes place after Shrek 4, please watch Shrek 3 and then 4. Shrek The Halls is a short Christmas special set in between you Shrek 3 and 4.

Paul G

Shrek the Halls is just a 30 minute bonus feature, it’s not a full movie. I think it originally aired as holiday TV special and it might have been included on the DVD of one of the main movies.

JusteFlo

About the question at the end : This takes place after Shrek 4. Shrek 3 is pretty bad, and honestly you don't need to see it to enjoy Shrek 4, which in my opinion is on par with the second one. But yeah, Shrek the third really ruined the "reputation" of the series for a lot of people, and so the last one didn't do so well sadly (at least compared to the other ones) even though it's pretty great.

Such a fun movie, Death was for sure my favorite! They didnt give the wish to the pup because he didnt need it, he already said it twice before that he had no need for a wish because he already had his fullfilled. Its kinda funny that george always talks about not knowing these stories well yet he still knows them better than me and I grew up with them :D

Haye Zeus

Lots of spaghetti western influence in this film. Love it. Which is definitely a recommendation that ya’ll need to get into Leone and his Dollars Trilogy

Logan Kerlee

Enjoyed the reaction, you guys! Had a good bit of fun with a few laughs. :)

Monica Alarcon

awww I was hoping for another Mission Impossible Sunday...

Monica Alarcon

oh by the way. the Wolf Among Us videogame is based on the comic book Fables by Bill Willingham... I highly recommend it and its various spinoffs like, Jack of Fables, The Literals, Fairest, Cinderella, and multiple specials and even a novel...

Deserana12

They’ve done all the Mission Impossible films now, Dead Reckoning came out a few weeks ago :)

Crunkljack

Since you kept mentioning the terrible egg, now it’s my favorite character. ;)

Wyatt Nuxoll

Simone is right , the cricket was i,Imitating Jimmy Stewart which reminds me for a Xmas request to do its a wonderful life . We know that simone has seen it but George really should watch it ,its a great classic Christmas movie that has a great message behind it

akaTheBARON

🖤When Simone was trying to figure out the rhyme/fairytale like "Little Jack Horner sat on the corner... nope that's not it" reminded me of The Office where Andy couldn't figure out the Kit Kat jingle XD "Gimme a break, GIMMEE a break. Break me off a piece of that ap-ple sauce... Chry-stler car... foot-ball cream.... AHHHH" LOL

akaTheBARON

🖤Yeah I think the Cricket was wish.com Jiminy Cricket. Most of these characters are public domain so Dreamworks can use them but I think Jiminy Cricket was directly created by Disney so they had to use an imitation version. Makes it funnier I think LOL Edit: So I just found out Jiminy Cricket is a version of a character from the original Italian Pinocchio called "the talking cricket" so I suppose the version of the character they used is public domain like most other fairytale characters they've used as opposed to a "Disney knockoff"

TokyoLopez

i only watch shrek 3 because of the memes and jokes, the plot itself is the weakest of them all, but i’ll still watch it, idk why people are complaining about it like it personally did them harm, it’s just a shrek movie

REDR58

I’m probably one of the few people who does not at all like the animation style of this movie as compared to the first PiB. I find the mixing of framerates very distracting. Movie is lots of fun though.

Jared Winn

Crying at the second PnB movie at midnight was not on my bingo card this week. Loved it so much.

Patrick

A fun drinking game for CineBinge is to take a drink every time George makes a super specific, niche reference that only he gets :-P

Johen Kay

Brightburn please.

Patrick

I couldn't figure out who played the Big Bad Wolf, but it's the actor who plays Pablo Escobar in Narcos. No wonder he's so scary haha

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

I assume that the Jimmy Stewart impression is because his most iconic roles were as morally upstanding characters and the cricket in the story tries to influence Pinocchio to become a virtuous character on his journey.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

The Jack Horner nursery rhyme has been around awhile (since like the 1700s) and has even been used for political satire/parody. This has led to some interpreting Jack Horner as another classic Shrek/Dreamworks jab at Disney. Much like Lord Farquaad and his kingdom was a jab at then CEO Michael Eisner and Disney during his tenure. In this instance they are possibly making fun of Disney’s constant IP grabbing and dealings (obsession with magic and the particular magic items he’s seen using or adorned in his office) and their exploitation of said IPs and their animation staffs (Jack’s blatant mistreatment of said magic items and of course the Baker’s Dozen).

Noe Ramirez

I think y'all should watch Shrek 3! Sure I don't like it but maybe you will find it enjoyable. I mean you guys did really like Mission Impossible 2 which is considered the bad one. So idk. I think completing the series is the move here in my opinion!

Terry Yelmene

Ep. 4 Of all the Christmas episode in all the sit-come in all the world... TED LASSO!!! Ep. 5 The one thing that this series is BEST at is character development.. think of the restaurant's maître d. And... we all had Roy Kent at "Hello" Coach! George's question about Higgin's wife... answer: BOTH an actress and the actor's real-world wife. Ep. 6 The naked in the kitchen thing is 'a meme' - H & L Puff and Stuff!!! However those trivialities will prove NOTHING compared to " The WONDER KID " and SAM, mystery man of BANTR! I know that the pattern has been reactions for 3 episodes which should take you to episode 9, BUT IF YOU happen to get to episode 10... be prepared to react to the greatest 'written' episode in television history that answers every question this episode asks (note: S2-E10 is not the best Ted episode, that's S3-E6, and the final three which just drain you of tears,,, but... No Weddings IS the BEST EVER WRITTEN!)

Persnickity

For good animated movies I hope y'all watch Mitchels vs Machines. Its a different franchise of course but it fits with animation and story quality

W T

"AI is not that great yet to solve scunthorpe problems" Oh but it is, it's just not necessarily feasible to engineer your entire content moderation backend around fairly expensive LLMs to discern "proper" language for insane amounts of newly uploaded videos and transcriptions. It'll happen though, and when it does, huge parts of the whole monetization kerfuffle is going to just disappear into nothing.

Odd Thomas

A fun sequel. A great animated movie you should check out is Nimona.

Raven Dark

Wow. This move was so good! It's yet another one I ignored thinking I wouldn't like it. But with some of the other movies I thought I wouldn't like in recent years, but then ended up liking, I had no real reason for it. With this one, I had a good reason. I assumed I wouldn't enjoy it because I really didn't care for the first Puss In Boots film. But this one was a huge pleasant surprise. I'm with George, the Big Bad Wolf as Death is one of my favorite characters now too. I liked Goldie and the Three Bears too though, and I really like the way Jack Horner was written as a villain. I'm actually a little sad now that the movie is over. LOL Fantastic reaction, guys. I'm glad I gave the movie a chance and got to enjoy it for the first time with you.

DM DC

I still liked the 3rd Shrek even though it is the weakest of the 4. The 4th one is really good. But I will also admit however, I don't recall if there's anything about the 3rd one that carries over into the 4th one. I don't think it does, but there might be something small that carries over. I just can't recall. Generally I'm not a proponent of skipping a part of a series of movies, however if just a little is enough for Simone to fall asleep and not really think highly of what little she did see, maybe it's for the best to just go to 4. I don't know. But this movie, was really really good. I enjoyed this alot.
