The last weekly polls winner was Jerry McGuire, which will be available this Saturday. Until then here are SOME of the films recommended by you guys. Remember, you can vote for multiple films!Reminder: movies that don't win does not mean they will never be watched, it just means they will be watched later. Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies :)

Comments

Jeff K.

Well that one dude in the comments is gonna be pretty fired up about Buckaroo Banzai's inclusion! (My choice is Boyz n the Hood, because it's a movie I would put in the category of "must see" and has what I'd consider Laurence Fishburne's career-best work. Well, as long as you don't include Cowboy Curtis, of course.)

MotoDork

Buckaroo Banzai needs more love

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Black Swan for making ballet even more nightmarish (jokes haha). But it has excellent performances and a weird vibe. Don’t sleep on Boyz n The Hood either! Wonderfully made film and Buckaroo’s got a hell of a cast when you look back on it

Jon

Amadeus is a MASTERPIECE !

TAN

Dunkirk, the only Nolan movie you guys have not reacted to.

Jason McCloud

I'd love to see you both react to Only the Brave

LateToThePartyDave

Buckaroo Banzai is an underappreciated gem. I feel like it is always going to struggle to get votes - but it is something you NEED to see!

Ian Hunt

Amadeus is the one, but glad to see Patriot Games on there as it means Clear and Present Danger is a future possibility!

stewystewartson

Unforgiven 1992 would be a good one for a future poll

paul rai

Hoping Boyz N the Hood gets enough steam. Truly an eye-opening film. Heck, if you guys haven’t had Spike Lee on the polls I would like to throw my hat for Do the Right Thing, if others wants to upvote this. Undoubtedly one of the best movies of the 1980s. Such a fun, vibrant, abrasive in-your-face movie filled with tremendous performances but sadly is still relevant and mindful 30 years later of America’s relationship to race.

The boy who cried WTF

A few suggestions: Be Kind Rewind (2008), Comedy Coneheads (1993), Sci-Fi/Comedy, Welcome To Collinwood (2002), Heist/Comedy Identity (2003), Thriller One Hour Photo (2002), Thriller/Drama Analyze This (1999), Crime/Comedy Arlington Road (1999), Thriller Mystic River (2003), Crime/Drama Burn After Reading (2008), Crime/Comedy High Fidelity (2000), Romance/Comedy/Music

Daniel

While Amadeus is a classic and should be done eventually I really want to see the Black Swan reaction. Darren Aronofsky is an amazing director and this is one of the best movies of the 2010s. A good follow up from his catalogue would be Requiem for a Dream.

Random Nevermind

I hope that Amadeus is gonna make it. It is outstanding one!

Alex F.

Requiem for a dream would be great

Random Nevermind

Random recommendation: Thursday (1998) - funny criminal movie.

Mike C

Buckaroo Bonzai will never win a poll, but it is the type of zaniness they will love given their reaction to Mars Attacks! Plus the cast has some surprising faces!

Random Nevermind

And one more movie recommendation: The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi (2003)

FrancescoTakesItEasy

Buckaroo Banzai all the way. I didn't see it until my 30s sometime last decade, so there are no nostalgia goggles for me here. But this movie's weird and bizarre, and it has such confidence in its weirdness, it's hard not to be fascinated by it. Plus, the cast is great, the tunes are great, what more can you ask for?

redddfer44

Jennifer's Body is my go-to answer to "what movie do you unironically like that has a terrible score on IMDB?" I expected nothing from I, Tonya when I watched it for a challenge and now heartily recommend it to everyone I know.

Johen Kay

Brightburn, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Doctor Sleep...

MoonageDaydream

Black Swan is great. Happy to see it’s in the lead (for now) 🤞🏻

Orphan Crippler

I'm gonna suggest "Reign of Fire" pretty underrated Christian Bale movie

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

Week 5 recommending these three great films from writers/ directors you guys both enjoy. 1:LEGENDS OF THE FALL, directed by Edward Zwick (Last Samurai). Stars Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins 2:THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS, directed by Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral). Stars Daniel Day-Lewis and Madeline Stowe. 3:TRUE ROMANCE, written by Quentin Tarantino, directed by Tony Scott (Man on Fire, Top Gun). Starring literally everyone , Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman (as a rastafarian pimp and drug dealer), Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt (as Floyd, the stoner on the couch), Val Kilmer (as imaginary Elvis), James Gandolfini, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Rapaport, Chris Penn, Tom Sizemore and Bronson Pincho.

Joe Mallard

Boyz in the Hood is fantastic! Straight Outta Compton would make a great reaction.

Alexrandom

Amadeus is incredible! Not very accurate but so much fun. Hope you'll watch it some day. A few scenes in the film are among my favourite scenes ever :) And I personally believe Darren Aronofsky is extremely overrated. His movies aren't bad per se but they all feel like they're made by a young man freshly out of film school who thinks he's the next Tarkovsky. Loved him when I was 15 though but tough to watch his movies now. Black swan might be his best.

Gareth Turner

I’m doing my part! (For Buckaroo Banzai). Man, of all the films I’ve seen, that was… definitely one of them. I can’t even describe it. It has to be seen to be experienced.

Actuarial Lurker

Amadeus is riveting, funny, and poignant. Took some liberties with history but F. Murray Abraham is brilliant

thomas king

The title is Patriot Games

Logan Nelson

Fallen, Bone Tomahawk, The Last Dragon, Creepshow (They are all awesome but the second one is the ish), Brawl in Cell Block 99, and Serendipity.... Can I get just one of these on a poll, lol?

NareikAC

Boyz n the hood is the only one worth watching, the rest are trash

simon brouillard

Amadeus come on, lets go, now of to listen to mozart sll day

Tay Schumaker

If Amadeus ends up winning this you should watch the directors cut, it’s better

WayneC

Are you considering watching "Masters of the Air", it is the third of the "Band of Brothers" series. It just started this week, and will have 9 episodes. It follows a bomb group (the 100th), mostly, in the air war over Europe from mid 1943 to the end of the war.

Kate Suhr

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, That Thing You Do.

theedgeinshow

Buckaroo Banzai is the highest grossing film of all time

Happy Hanukkah

I'm going with Amadeus. But if Black Swan beats it out? Well, I'm ... ambivalent about Natalie Portman. Finally watching Black Swan will allow me to come to a definite conclusion. See, I'm finding silver linings! :-)

DemNikoArt

If you're doing random movies, then I'll do random suggestions 😉 - Blades of Glory (Ridiculous comedy with Will Ferrell and John Heder about two competing male ice skaters) - The machinists (psychological thriller with a super thin Christian Bale. That kind of "what is real and what is not" movie 😉 - Starsky & Hutch (Ben Stiller and Owen Willson teaming up again, I mean... c'mon 😁) - Smokin' Aces (also a gangster film with a stellar cast incl. Ryan Reynolds, Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck & Chris Pine) - I love you man (romantic comedy but with two dudes that try to become best friends, with Paul Rudd & Jason Segal) - Palm Springs (groundhog Day with Andy Samberg) - Cloudy with a chance of meatballs (Lord & Miller's first directed animated movie, has already their super hilarious humour) - Beerfest (ridiculous comedy about a group of friends who compete in an international beer drinking contest. It's the super troopers guys 😉) - Sunshine (Danny Boyle's beautiful trip into the sci-fi genre, with Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans & Hiroyuki Sanada) Okay that's it for now, bye ✌️🙂

mky

This monkey boy is rooting for Buckaroo Banzai! (And a couple of the other movies, but first: Buckaroo Banzai!)

Philip Akca

Since you watched Oppenheimer recently, Amadeus would be perfect fit. Christoffer Nolan told Robert Downey jr to study the relationship between the main characters here for his role

Jeremy

I thought I,Tonya was a surprisingly good movie. And you really can't go wrong with Margo Robbie.

mky

As long as we're throwing out random suggestions, I'd like to add: Repo Man (1984, Alex Cox) Cheers!

Ronny Boss

Might I suggest Dragonslayer? It's a fantastic fantasy film from the 80s

Adam K

Jennifer’s Body? Soooo bad

fmcmullan

I'll throw in another random selection: Barry Lyndon (1975). Most beautifully filmed movie ever.

Adam K

I’m excited for a Black Swan review. A really weird, great movie

John

pushing for some stressers when possible :-): Prisoners (2013), Come and See (1985), Hotel Rwanda (2004), Blue Velvet (1986)

Brendan Rafferty

Sad that so the cult classic Buckaroo Banzai is polling so poorly

Brendan Rafferty

Amadeus should win. Amazing film. Won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and a few more

Zinphad

Ahhh, what a collection. Love these for so many reasons. Amazed (and delighted) to see Black Swan getting some love. Amadeus is also a masterpiece (both leads were nominated for best actor Oscars).

Random Nevermind

So far it seems like an epic battle Mozart vs. Tchaikovsky. Also Amadeus will be interesting in terms of how George will edit the movie which is so full of music.

TheFood44

Nice mixture of films this week Couple suggestions of films I don’t think you’ve done: Strange days Run Lola Run Gone baby gone La Haine Magnolia Carlito’s way An American werewolf in London

Steven Cavanagh

could I recommend The Lost Boys, for a future poll?

Kim

At least five cinematic stars came out of Buckaroo Banzai, I remember taking a couple of my friends to see it in the theater. Unfortunately they didn’t appreciate it like I did. It was definitely thinking outside the box.

Wrencher86

So what I'm learning from the Buckaroo Bonzai campaign is that I haven't been nearly as obnoxious as I need to be to get Ravenous on a poll. Point taken. I'll do better in the future.

Michael Buhl

I say this every time, including this time: George needs to watch Network (1976) and Simone needs to watch Best in Show (2000).

Darin Foat

Buckaroo Banzai fans embody the inherent contradiction of cult movie fandom. You love something precisely because it's quirky and odd and most people don't relate to it. Then you complain that it doesn't get the attention it deserves. And I say this as an old school BB fan, who saw it in the theater in its initial release.

Marcelo

Watch "Society of the Snow" please

nossieboy

Finally Amadeus…. Beautiful movie

Khal Atlas

A lot of these are good but imo Amadeus is a must see

Steve Hope

The Thomas Crown Affair is a movie nobody reacts to

Kron0n

That was clearly a spelling mistake and they meant The adventures of Baron Munchhausen.

Jinyatta

Canadian Bacon needs to be watched at some point.

Jeff I.

Amadeus is a good movie, but you two should go into knowing that it's about as historically accurate as Braveheart (i.e. not much). Just don't want y'all to get the wrong impression of the movie's plot and certain things that happen in it.

LighthouseGuy

If Margot Robbie didn’t get an oscar for I tonya she should have

Opti_Frog

Black Swan is terrific, an absolutely gorgeous nightmare, but i don't love it like i love Amadeus. I'm voting for both (and Boyz n the Hood). Also, where is the Ravenous (1999) requesting crew? 😊

Nathan Jasper

Will you react to the Percy Jackson show on Disney+? It's wrapping up season 1 tomorrow. Might be a nice little quick show to do between Breaking Bad seasons or in the future.

Adam Custer

you should add the movie LIFE to your list. Its a pretty scary space movie.

Zed Gong

Amadeus is my favorite movie, please let that be it! xD

sarCC

Can't remember if I ever suggested this before, but GREEN ROOM is an excellent thriller starring the late, great Anton Yelchin and Patrick Stewart.

G P

Definitely watch the directors cut of Amadeus when you do

ShōNuff3K

One day...Count of Monte Cristo

Jacob King

Jennifer’s Body and Black Swan are an interesting thematic pairing.

Travis H

Amadeus is a movie I have always wanted to see, but is never available anywhere for me…well legally anyways. I’m voting for Black Swan. Recs: Wall-E Paddington Knives Out Swiss Army Man

Stephanie Bedworth

I voted for I, Tonya but it's nice to see Amadeus winning. It's a great movie.

Jay Davis

Amadeus is a great movie. But I hadta throw my lot in with The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. Cuz

Jonny

Watch Arachnophobia or An American Werewolf in London

Alex Ch

Amazon has their new Jake Gyllenhall remake of Road House coming out in March, with their trailer running a lot. Feels like now could be a good time to react to the Patrick Swayze original.

Cromulentius

I didn't even need to see the other options before I clicked on Black Swan. So good.

Roxolan

My usual recs - which also have no theme, so that works out: - Brazil (1985, sci-fi dystopian dark comedy) - The Game (1997, mystery thriller) - Pleasantville (1998, earnest comedy-drama-scifi) - Hero (2002, colourful atmospheric wuxia) - Annihilation (2018, cosmic horror)

Grand Moff Slackin'

Now I’ve got Falco stuck in my head. Amadeus! Amadeus!

Chris Moon

You guys really are missing out on The Social Network, one of the best films of the decade!

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I'll join in requesting Ravenous (so fun!), but I'd also throw out: Dangerous Liasons (with Keanu!) ; and Drag Me to Hell (Sam Raimi) ; and Logan Lucky (another Soderbergh heist) ; and of course The Talented Mr Ripley (so beautiful and compelling).!

Lola Lirola

Great poll, I loved so many options! This also lets me bring in a few male-led recomms that I also have! Sex, Lies and Videotape - Officially this is considered the beginning of the "indie cinema" wave of the 90s, a game changer for the industry after the big blockbusters of the 80s. Not as explicit as you might think from the title! But really interesting dynamics going on. Running on Empty - River Phoenix was my generation's Heath Ledger, and I still think Leonardo DiCaprio owes most of his career to River's absence. For most people, My Own Private Idaho, the one with Keanu Reeves, is Phoenix's best film, and I agree, but if you can get your hands on Running on Empty, it's a moving coming of age story about what happened to 70s political commitments. Bonus points because it was written by Jake Gyllenhaal's parents! Full Monty - Such a great all male ensemble cast, with some legendary Brit actors, as a group of men bond together over stripping in working class Sheffield. Hilarious, sweet and poignant in equal parts. Bonus Double Feature: Calendar Girls - This time, a legendary group of British actresses, including Dame Helen Mirren, decide to pose for a nude calendar for charity. Based on true events!

Skyruff Creative

HeyHeyJK

While there were a few I might have voted for, I'm glad to see my lone pick of "Amadeus" is in the lead. You two will absolutely love it.

Dustin Duvall

Solid showing for Boyz in the hood ❤️

michael clarke

black swan kinda apes perfect blue. you should really see perfect blue. it spawned an entire generation of thrillers.

Pearl Jam

I think you guys would enjoy the Fallen trilogy (Olympus has Fallen, London has Fallen, and Angel has Fallen) I’ll also recommend ‘Law Abiding Citizen (2009)’ I’ve been on a Gerard Butler kick and wanted you guys to join me.

Emily G

I love I Tonya. I hope it wins!

Ben

Yet another plug for my suggestions... ⦁ 'North by Northwest' (1959) ⦁ 'Labyrinth' (1986) ⦁ 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' (1988) ⦁ 'Dead Poets Society' (1989) ⦁ 'Parenthood' (1989) ⦁ 'Toy Story' (1995) ⦁ 'One Hour Photo' (2002) ⦁ 'Little Miss Sunshine' (2006)

Tim T—

I was rewatching your Master & Commander reaction and such inspired propose some nautical movies: - All Is Lost (2013) - Das Boot (1981, 1997 DC) - K-19 (2002) - The Poseidon Adventure (1972) or Poseidon (2006) - The Abyss (1989) - Le Grand Bleu / The Big Blue (1988) - The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) - The Perfect Storm (2000) - Waterworld (1995)

Ziggy Piecrust

Agree with those who have said the director’s cut of Amadeus is the way to go. 20 minutes added and totally worth it.

Martin

I know it’s pretty low on the list, but I, Tonya is a really good movie.

Bennett Holleman

So glad Amadeus is leading. Everything about that movie is amazing and it also introduced me to Mozart's music.

BoredLittleLady

I have some movie recommendations: Emma (2020) comedy/romance Barbarian (2022) horror/thriller Instructions Not Included (2013) drama/comedy Van Helsing (2004) action/fantasy These are movies I've seen, I like, and I think more people should see.

Nemo

If I may add a movie recommendation that I think gets way too little attention. "The Last Duel" is just an incredibly well made movie, great script, acting, cinematography, pacing. I think it was way too overlooked and deserves a reaction. Hope people will give it a shot!

Seahag

I’ve normally don’t recommend movies, but remembering 2008’s Changeling with Angelina Jolie has got me wondering if either if you have seen it, super interesting movie.

CrunklJack don’t poop.

I recently rewatched Casualties Of War. (Michael J Fox, Sean Penn, John C Reilly) Warning: Very Dark subject matter. Vietnam War Starts with some cliche Vietnam War lingo but still a good movie.

L77045

Was hoping for more love for Buckaroo Banzai, but oh well.

Carl Noraas

Assuming Amadeus is going to win, I urge you both to cast your mind back to Last Action Hero. George was very confused by all the references to the death of Mozart. Finally now this will make sense to you both. Enjoy! :)

Terry Light

Love the thought of buckaroo bonzai, but change her count meater from "oh my god" to...."what?"

Matt Landon

Hey, just a heads up on Amadeus in case no one has mentioned it, but this is another of the Director's Cut vs Theatrical situations. It is likely that if you use streaming services for your video that the Director's Cut will be the only option, and that also makes up the majority of the physical media as well. I also prefer the DC over theatrical, as do most, so that may work out for the best, but if it's a case where you want to let people know which version you'll watch ahead of time you may want to take a look at which version your preffered source has. And if people would like a cheap place for a copy, this is one of those titles that nearly all libraries will have multiple copies in stock, at least in North America.

LighthouseGuy

This poll was just filled with great movies, I voted for I tonya but Im not mad at any of the others winning

Dirge Girl

Pssst... Ravenous (1999).

Bryan

Add Million Dollar Baby on the next poll please.

Ginger

Amadeus? Yes please! <3

Kelly Pickard

REALLY excited for Amadeus. It's not historically accurate, but it's a masterpiece of character drama.

Deano

Picked jennys body coz damn Megan 😂👀❤️

michael clarke

jennifers body is secretly a feminist film. i hope you run it again some time. its not perfect but it was way ahead of its time.

JFC

Just a heads-up, for Amadeus it'll have to be the Director's Cut, since that's the only version available on Blu-Ray, and on streaming services. You're both gonna enjoy it.

Greg Beach

Please, add Stardust (2007) to the polls. Your will find it hilarious.

2026-09-07 00:00 Amadeus is a great movie, up there with The Godfather iny opinion.

Brandon Meng

I've always wanted to see Amadeus and never got around to it, so I'm excited it's leading. Hopefully you still watch Black Swan, top notch performance from Natalie Portman. Here are some of my other recommendations for future polls: Perks of Being a Wallflower Manchester by the Sea Three Billboards in Ebbing, Missouri Nebraska Forgetting Sarah Marshall Cheers!

Pam Nail

Ooooh, Black Swan (which is also great) was in the lead for a while but I'm so happy Amadeus pulled ahead! One of my all-time top ten. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Torstein Skurve

Have you guys considered doing the Percy Jackson series? I bet George would be into the greek mythology of it all!

ckenney711

Great choices! Has anyone ever recommended Palm Springs? It’s a Groundhog Day type rom com that I would love to see your thoughts on

Astraeos

Dang. Patriot Games and Boyz n the Hood are soo, soo good. I hope they are both on the shortlist. Boyz n the Hood is like culturally significant in a pretty big way, and Patriot Games is just a really awesome Harrison Ford Action/Thriller sort of flick. I'm just a huge fan of Tom Clancy so yeah, Patriot Games is like one of my all time favorites.

Mark Messer

Amadeus and Black Swan are great! Cant wait to see your reactions.

Mark Messer

i cant remember if ive recommended this before but if not you guys should check out Spielberg's adaption of War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise. First movie to disturb me growing up. The book was the FIRST concept of an alien invasion too, so its historic.

steve

Bowfinger and Black Dynamite on some list!

Smooticus

A few other flicks to consider even though i have a feeling most of the other subscribers might be too young to have seen them (70's and 80's movies) Miller's Crossing Barton Fink Three Days of the Condor Paris, Texas The Man Who Would be King Gattaca The Right Stuff

Johnny Graterol Guevara

One movie I've never seen in any of the reactors channels (that I know of) is "Downfall" (Der Untergang) 2004, from Oliver Hirschbiegel. I guess the subject is indeed controversial, but it is one of the best parts that Bruno Ganz ever played, so much that we still see memes about it. And "Zatoichi, the Blind Swordsman" (2003) from Takeshi Kitano is a movie that was praised by Roger Ebert, and certainly not your typical Jidaigeki flick. Silence (2016), from Scorsese, is also one that I've never seen anywhere else. Powerful ending, superb acting by Garfield and Driver. (Dances with Wolves the theatrical cut, 1991, is indeed a classic to be considered, but this has been covered already)
