Those of you who bravely sat through 5 hours of AMA a few weeks back may remember me talking about a little side project I was cooking up. It's just a little something I've personally always wanted to do for fun for a while now, and I finally got around to it.Anyways the first video of this project is now complete and I would love some eyes on it for feed back and what not if you're a fan of history.

Here is the link: https://youtu.be/wZPSLVATiFwThe channel only has 1 video right now, hoping to do 1 roughly every 2 weeks.Cheers!

Great job, George. Educational without being dry. Like the specific criteria too.

I'll be honest -- I've never even thought of the year 1 AD before. Then I watched your vid and I'm like "hey, I learned something new, that's cool". Plus its animated, flows nicely , and easy to follow. Kinda feels like a sub-education video Id like to see (and wish was available) in a game of Civilization. Good stuff 👍

Monica Alarcon

Wow. Great concept. Entertaining and informative. I can't wait for the other 2023 videos... And then the prequels!. Who does the narration?

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Wow this is great, George. Huge history and mythology buff myself and love how you dropped a Kushite and Nubian segment which tends to get swept away in the AD/CE research world a lot of the time. You also have an inherently great content strategy here: possibly 2000 more videos haha. Proud of your work and look forward to more! Also love the narration you’ve gone with! If you need any additional research “interns” for future vids I’m up for a read haha

Ronny Boss

As a history buff myself I appreciate how you did this. I would love to support your channel on Patreon if you make one for it.

MacGuffinStuff

That was great, good job 👍 looking forward to more content, big history nerd too lol

Ea-nāṣir, the worst copper merchant in history!

I really liked it. Would've loved if it was a bit longer, and went a little bit more in depth in what happened in Africa. Africa is so often neglected in history, but plays such an important role, specially around this time. However, this was year 1 CE. Next episode is 2 CE. From that I can only conclude you're doing an episode per year. If the schedule is one episode per 2 weeks, it's 26 episodes per year. If we're going through history, that's 2024 / 26 which is 77.8 years, so yeah. You'll be doing this until after the next century...

Wyatt Nuxoll

I like it George, sincerely if you have seen my movie reccomendations . I'm sure you know that I myself am a big fan of history .the narration is great very pleasant to listen to. I'm curious if the background classical music will change as years are explained through the tough and dark centuries but I really like this .

Nathan Jasper

Fantastic! I'm looking forward to the future of this project! This will be an interesting journey

Drew Acheson

George, that was great! What part did you take in the production? Presumably the editing, but did you write the script and find the voice actors as well?

Wyatt Nuxoll

Oh , and the line in there " you know what the French are not protesting ..... you hitting the like and subscribe button " that was gold lmao 😂

Paul Mix

Never knew Confucius was into shrubbery.

Dom

George, I don't know you personally so I am not invested in you as a person. Take what I am saying as my honest unbiased thoughts. You got something here. Definitely.

yungmulaBABY

Was hoping for OnlyFans but this will do.

ChickensAreRacist

The writing needs work, as does the side quips. Touching upon a big deal and having the segue be merely the word ‘anyways’ isn’t the best. The French joke should’ve either elaborated or just be deleted. However if it’s the first episode, I’m sure the identity will be found. Despite all this, I really like the concept.

Thomas Hilbert

I liked the episode very much. But what is the expected release cycle? If you were to put one episode out every week, then, well, you'll have caught up to today in about 39 years. But then you'll already be 39 years behind the then-now again, which will take you the bigger part of another year to catch up with ^^

Moonchild

My sister and I loved this so much. We love learning about history and hope that you know this was really wonderful.

Grant Parker

Love this. I've always been frustrated with the way we focus on history of a culture without the context of other cultures at that time. I love this idea. I do worry about going year by year. I wonder if it may be helpful to do some big landmark years every other episode with a more sequential series. And that sequential series feels like it could be every year or maybe cover decades as a whole?

ThePVO

Never realised that Ted Nugent song was about a Chinese emporer.

MPH

This is awesome. I've been wanting to do something kind of like this but way more specific.

Lester Yung

Will definitely tune in for more episodes! Assuming you cover up to 2000 CE, do one episode per week, and not skip any years, it should take almost 38 and a half years to finish. I may not live long enough to see the final episode 😄

Shonnicus

As a history nerd, I'm in.

Daniel Gurney

Well I'm invested now, great job. Looking forward to watching this channel grow.

FranciscoGios

It was great, The Augustus family line caught my ear. I did the follow button thing & I got to see The Terminator in this video

Christopher Carson

Loved the videos in the background like the Rome series. Impatiently waiting to see Tom Cruise as the Last Samurai when you get to the 1800s. Lol

silverarrow06

This is a really great idea and so well done. Looking forward to the next one...😊🙌🏻

Jakub Krelik

That video feels very chaotic.

Mo's Not Mortal

I was engrossed throughout the entire video. Mission complete.

Charlotte Drolet

Just watched George's side project and I loved it! I love learning about history and watch a lot of channels that focus on history. I can see myself loving it more than Cinebinge. I am looking forward to more videos. I hope he doesn't get too busy and cannot do it.

Dazzler & Em

Great video!! Couple of questions, are you concerned that when you hit years with large numbers of historical records, that the videos will have to be much longer to accommodate all the information. Secondly how are you going to deal with historical events with multiple viable interpretations? As a History Geek, it is always good to see this type of content. Well done👍👍

Simon Pegged Me

Good job. I liked and subscribed. Also, it seems appropriate to ask that you and Simone react to Mel Brook's History of World Part I.

LighthouseGuy

Cool, quick, informative and entertaining. I like it

zach hines

Pretty good. It’s like kings and generals YouTube channel meets what the Timeghost crew are doing.

Spacedone

Kinda reminds me of cross between an audiobook I listened to called The History of the Renaissance World, where they basically give a brief overview of all the known historical events that were happening in (mostly) Europe and Asia during the Renaissance period (only with a little more humour and a lot less tedium) and comedian David Mitchell's recent book Unruly. Interesting, subscribed.

Stewart Denew

Interesting for sure, a good start so subbed & would definitely watch more.

cincassette

Awesome idea and a great first video!! I do think, eventually hiring real voice actors to read the script would greatly elevate the quality of content. Personally, whenever I hear an AI voice on a youtube video, I associate it with low-quality artificially generated scripts from content farms or something like that, and would usually click off. They feel somewhat detached from any human connection, which doesn't do your research and script the justice it deserves! I can read the enthusiasm in your words, George, but it is somewhat filtered out by the synthetic voice. Either way, I'm excited to see your journey on this new project!

Smooticus

I bought a book about 30 years ago at a garage sale called "The Timetables of History. A Horizontal Linkage of People and Events" that lists every important event from 5000 BCE to 1980 CE charted by categories like History & Politics, Literature & Theater, Religion / Philosophy / Education, Visual Arts, Music, Science / Technology / Industry, and Daily Life. The index alone is almost 100 pages, and i still use this for a starting point for researching historical events. So i guess what i'm saying is this is right up my alley and I've subscribed and liked ;P

Middy

I'm not big on history, but this was short and entertaining enough that I found myself watching the whole video without really intending to. I guess in a sense, that makes me the target audience? I can definitely see myself watching regularly if they continue to be as good as this one was.

SnabbKassa

I think you'll get more subscribers faster if you do more recent years first. Although if the information is from wikipedia, then you might encounter viewers who remember that year and contradict the information. Doing all or most of the 20th century sooner than the others might be a good idea. Wikipedia also has shorter lists which cover specific years in specific countries. If the voiceover is to be English, then the UK from the 1600s onwards, or Australia from the start of European settlement would probably be good for views too. Canada and the US likewise.

Crawnch!

Enjoyed the first video. Thought it was well written. Subscribed

Troy Ross

Love it! I immediately subscribed and clicked the bell. My only question is why start so late in history?

Astraeos

Very cool video George. As a History Major, I love it, and you definitely need to do more!

jake w

great work George! I'm happy to lend my voice, its always been a dream to break into voice over and would love to help (no charge it would be a labor of love!) either way I'll be following along as a history fan/nerd! thanks again for all the time and effort put into this creation. looking forward to seeing more!

John

Hey George, it's a great project and good luck. I might suggest narrating it yourself to add a more personal element. It is well done
