Movies you should watch - Rear Window (widely acclaimed as Hitchcock's best movie) - The Life of Others (About life in the communist East Germany, touching) - Inside Man (Denzel Washington, really smart heist film) - Platoon (a Vietnam film directed by actual Vietnam vet, won bunch of Oscars) - Million Dollar Baby (among Eastwood's best) - Gran Torino (among Eastwood's best) - In the Line of Fire (surprisingly taut thriller by Eastwood, John Malkovich) - Dead Poets Society (drama, Robin Williams at his best) - Insomnia (by Christoper Nolan, starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams, Hillary Swank) - Source Code (smart and surprisingly touching (!) scifi thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal) - Black Book (Paul Verhoeven's best film imo, a WW2 spy thriller/drama) "Black Book" and "The Life of Others" require subtitles, but trust me it's worth it. (You saw "Raid The Redemption", so why stop there )

Alright I think we all need to know the farmer story now.

Something I mentioned in an Instagram Q&A that Simone did recently (and I admittedly have no idea how it would fit into your channel at large; maybe a Patreon only thing, idk), was that I'd *love* to see you two do a one-off 'book club' of sorts in which you each read the entirety of The Silmarillion, and then have a weekly discussion on video about a few chapters at a time. Obviously it'd be exceedingly niche and likely not worth the the time it would consume, but I think it's a fun idea! Simone responded about having been through some of it via audio book already, and George seems to have some familiarity with some of its content already as well, but I think it's a really worthwhile addition for any fans of the movies, books, etc., and enriches the world so much. There are a couple scenes in this movie, for example, which were already great moments on their own, but after reading the Silm they took on so much more context and are among my favorite in the film. And hey, even if there's no realistic way to turn it into content, my advice to read the whole of it stands. Such a satisfying book full of great stories! Thank you both again for putting these movies out here for us to enjoy with you!

Elizabeth, The Talented Mister Ripley, and Thor: Ragnarok are all Cate Blanchet movies worth checking out imho.

of these movies i have seen Million Dollar Baby (among Eastwood's best) Dead Poets Society (drama, Robin Williams at his best) Source Code (smart and surprisingly touching (!) scifi thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal) these are all spectacular films, i can't comment on the others as i have not seen them myself

Reece Chapford

The Talented Mr. Ripley is a great movie with Cate Blanchett.

Between Shelob, Andrew Garfield, Toby Maguire, and Tom Holland, who has the best spider-butt?

One of my favorite behind-the-scenes bits is that the speech Aragorn gives at the gates of Mordor was filmed on military testing grounds with mines burried all over the place. The crew did their best to remove all the mines from the set, but the army was like "idk guys, just be really carefull not to step on a bump in the ground if you see one..." Also, not related, but I really hope you guys can react to Society of the Snow at some point (and imma be on this comment crusade until all of my favorite reactors have seen it lol)

You should see Bandits! Its a fun movie with Cate Blanchett, Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton.

Simone, I understand why you love living in a place with the beauty of B.C. - I also believe you would love the very different kind of beauty of the desert southwest of the U.S. (maybe you've seen it, I don't know.) I've lived in New Mexico for most of my life, and couldn't imagine anywhere except the desert of the southwest feeling like home - the landscapes north and east of Joshua Tree in California look as if Tolkien and Jackson could have designed them, too. Mountains like islands in a sea of desert. The most serene, still place in the world. I could even image desert elves.

I imagine both of yours' friends looking at the teary eyed text messages on their phones and saying to themselves: "ugh, they've been watching Lord of the Rings again."

Cate Blanchett, The curious case of Benjamin button.
