Sam Hill

What an absolute classic

Simon Clifton

An absolute BELTER of a film! One of the most affectionate parodies of the 50s B movie monster genre

Bryce Lamkin

So this movie failed at the box office. But it became a cult class once released onto VHS. I am so damn happy it got picked Also I recommend Son's of Anarchy as a show to watch please, it has 7 seasons

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

The sequels quickly devolve into parodies of itself but they’re still really fun to watch

Dwight Scarn

Nice love tremors...I reccomend the tv show Interview with a Vampire on AMC! Surprisingly very compelling and well written!

Matthew Richson

One of my absolute all time favorites. The whole cast just clicks you know?

Byron

I didn’t notice it until seeing this in clip-form, but the falling out of the truck while wrapped in a sleeping bag is some nice foreshadowing of how the graboid goes off the cliff (and is maybe how Kevin Bacon’s character comes up with the idea in the first place)

Deano

2nd one is great aswell

Everybody loves this movie once they finally watch it, even if they’ve never heard of it before. George was correct at the end that it isn’t a “Horror” film, it’s a CREATURE FEATURE. This was a relatively prevalent genre in the ‘50s and ‘60s, usually cheap low-budget schlock, and this film was a deliberate throwback to their style. People who aren’t familiar with creature features often say that it’s a satire of monster movies, not realising it’s a direct homage. One thing I love to point out is that, except for one thing, this is possibly the most accurate depiction of firearm SAFETY in a movie. You see the two gunnuts constantly following every single rule of handling a gun (My favorite is after Burt gives Melvin an unloaded gun, when Melvin gives it back to him Burt CHECKS that it’s still unloaded). The one scene that breaks the rules is the basement scene where they fight the graboid, and they keep pulling loaded guns off the wall to continue fighting. You never store your guns loaded. The first sequel (Tremors 2: Aftershocks) is also good, and the third film is a prequel that I find enjoyable enough, but they go downhill after that. The fourth was made-for-TV to set up the series, and after that….yeugh.

michael clarke

its just a creature feature, but elevated by its cast and tight writing. just shows it doesnt matter what you are making if you make it well it will be a classic.

The Gummers, from this film, and Selene from 28 days later are 3 fictional characters that I would let into my apocalypse bunker

This movie has such a special place in my heart. I watched it constantly as a kid. We had this circular tire structure in elementary school on the playground that you could crawl around underneath and pop up through holes at certain spots, so we of course created a floor is lava-meets-tag game based on Tremors to play at recess. Good times.

You know what other movie was a financial flop and gained a cult following for being a smart, fun horror movie? That's right, it's Ravenous (1999). ;-) Tremors is great. I have many a fond memory of watching it on Saturday afternoons on the local Fox affiliate when I was a kid. Did you guys catch that pogo-stick girl was Lex from Jurassic Park?

Byron

“Broke into the wrong goddamn rec room, didn't ya you bastard!” - one of my favorite quotes from anything ever

paul rai

I love the Tremors films. Highly recommend the second film, as that follows Earl and the monsters transforming. Whether or not you wanna continue the first 4 films are so entertaining and fun-filled B-movies.

Jeff K

You guys touched on it in the trivia, but Bacon's stance on Tremors changed over time so much that, in 2017, he was all in on making a pilot for a TV series based on the franchise but Syfy decided not to move forward despite they had Kevin fucking Bacon attached and excited to return to the franchise.

Darin Foat

If you like Fred Ward, he's great in The Right Stuff (along with Ed Harris).

Sean Cole

you guys have to watch Critters now

Jeff K

Fred Ward was just the best. And yep, he's fantastic in The Right Stuff. Such a great movie.

Jeremy Charlie

George and Simone, I need you all to watch several movies. hitch hikers guide La Bamba The buddy holly story Rhapsody in Blue Ray The deer hunter Smoke Signals Pow wow highway And my personal favorite, little big man.

Jay

Way off topic and I seriously doubt we'll ever get a Cinebinge reaction, but I just found out today is Twin Peaks day, and we've got a TV poll coming up. You guys still haven't sampled David Lynch and this wonderfully weird show was a phenomenon when it came out. G & S, watch these opening credits and tell me you're not intrigued. Good luck getting that music out of your head too:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFMaEIHIrGw

Wasted or viciously hung over is the only way to experience this Cinecringe fuel.

Happy Hanukkah

20:32 "Just pick everyone up, go for a little ride ..." "... to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over."

Adam Wetstein

is the picture at beginning of the film on the visor ( tammy lynn Baxter)Karla Homolka?

Happy Hanukkah

3:29 Or we should remember that this film was shot in the '80s. Some self-administered tremors, yaknowhatimean? :-)

I would recommend reacting to the 1996 horror film Tremors 2: Aftershocks, starring Fred Ward, Christopher Gartin, Helen Shaver, and Michael Gross, if that's OKay? While it doesn't have Kevin Bacon as Val, it does have Fred Ward returning as Earl, who's been hired to deal with a Graboid infestation at a Mexican oilfield. Plus, it has Michael Gross returning as Burt Gummer, which makes Burt more of a main character. It helps cement Burt Gummer as one of the legendary horror heroes and sets Burt up as the main character for the sequels after Tremors 2.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Definitely recommend “Twin Peaks” (and Lynch’s work in general), but if a TV show’s worth of time is too much to invest in at the moment, “Blue Velvet” is a kind of prototype to Twin Peaks and a sort of middle ground on the Lynchian scale of kinda weird but still accessible.

Corridor Crew has a video looking at how a lot of the effects were done for this movie! VFX Artists React #98. They release new episodes on Saturdays so it's become my adult morning cartoon. Lol

David S

George, funny you wondered if Stan Winston had anything to do with the creature effects, well... sort of. The company that did the effects was founded by two of Stan's key people, who left Stan's company to form their own, Amalgamated Dynamics (ADI). I believe Tremors was their first big movie. It was also my first job on an actual theatrically released film, working for ADI making animatronic worms :)

BlakeK80DrumCovers

Bleh... I can't believe this beat out an American werewolf in London :'(

20 16

The only thing that American were wolf have over this is costume design

FromDarknessComesLight

I'm 26 seconds into the video and I gotta say: if you have to watch a movie while viciously hungover, this would be a decent choice. :D

Jacob Lantom

Wasted? St paddy's day isn't for over two weeks

Jacob Lantom

Simone. George. Two words. DEATH SENTENCE!!!!!!!!

Kris

Haha, nice. I too am viciously hungover

DamnitBlueWasOld

Death Sentence is such a good recommendation. I don’t know anyone who has seen it. John Goodman’s cameo is fantastic.
