JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

This is a fun movie to watch every now and again, especially because the practical effects hold up very well even today. RIP Mr Fred Ward, a wonderful character and everyman actor from that time. Also I always feel bad for that poor horse getting snatched every time I see this film (and am fairly sure Simone won’t have a good time with it either 😶) And being hungover at work is mine and my fellow Aussies’ birthright so no judgement here haha

Jay Davis

How DARE you... Bacon isn't just for breakfast!!

Foodassassin4life

LoL 😂😆😂 I wonder if they noticed that the monster in the poster isn't the one in the movie?

Young Blood Priest

Reba McIntyre had her own sitcom for a while. I never watched it but my ex-wife liked it.

christopher b swanson

this movie has every element u want in this kind of movie.............thank god it wasnt in the cgi era.....would have sucked

FWPJR.

This is such a fun movie to watch, I remember watching it when I was a kid. Plus it was always on TV. So when it was I’d watch it again and again. I’m looking forward to watching you two react to this one, and seeing what you think about it.

FWPJR.

It wasn’t that bad of a show, it definitely had its funny moments. I used to watch the reruns on the CW Network, I watched it when I had nothing else better to do lol

8bitAndy

You've had some good bacon on the channel, and this bacon is among my favorite, but you still haven't had the best bacon. Footloose (1984) soon?

Foodassassin4life

Never go past this one the rest get progressively worse

Astraeos

Whole heartedly disagree entirely. Tremors 2 is just as good as this one, full stop. After 2, they absolutely fall off a cliff. Though they can be enjoyed and there is fun to be had in a Cinecringe, Best of the Worst type setting from 3 and 4 especially.

Michael Green

Tremors 2 is a step down in quality, but is a decent enough creature feature, and Fred Ward was always a delight.

droodly

Jeorge... I'll have you know, I have worn up to 3 hats at the same time.

Astraeos

Uh what? The monster on the poster is just the tongue tentacle monsters with slightly bigger and exaggerated teeth.

djKENTO

The Second film has it’s charms and its genuinely a fun time with friends but it lacks the originality and budget of the first and then it’s a steep drop in quality. Napoleon Dynamite shows up eventually though.

Sumner Hayes

Hey, if you have to be hungover, this is kind of the right movie for it. Fun, doesn't need a lot of mental analysis, and only 95 minutes long.

Big Gee

Classic! Love the second one two it’s not better then the first but a cool follow up. Worth the watch.

Joel the Human

So glad you liked this one, it's a childhood favorite of mine, I only had a few VHS tapes growing up this and Critters (1986). Would be great to add to a poll to see if there's any interest, it's more Horror/Sci-Fi, but good campy fun!

Opti_Frog

I would say that Simone could not have asked for a more perfect hungover movie. 😄 Since Tremors only found success on the home video market, the sequels are a long line of direct-to-video diminishing returns. A 2018 Tremors SYFY pilot movie, actually starring Kevin Bacon, was made but, sadly, the network decided not to pick it up. The pilot remains an unseen treasure.

Adam Barry

As much as none of the sequels or tv show are as good as the original, I did like the expansion of the life-cycle of the graboids bit by bit. And it definitely never started taking itself too seriously, and was always a fun watch.

Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

If I had to choose a hangover movie, Tremors would not be a half bad choice. Many wishes of speedy hydration and recovery, Simone.

Spacedone

The Tremors franchise never matches the original movie. The second one isn't terrible but everything else is largely like the Starship Troopers or Saw franchises where various people just try to cash in on the cult classic status with cheap knockoffs and attempted reboots that get sillier and sillier. Also, Simone never having ever heard of home video rentals suddenly makes me feel very very old... 😉

JediLounger

So there are 7 of these movies. The first movie is light years ahead of the rest, but you might be able to get some mileage off them under the CineCringe label. I actually kinda like the second movie despite how silly it is. The third and fourth are pretty bad, but they do have their merits (spoilers to say what they are). I’ve never seen the others, but if you guys watch them I’m up for it. Edit: Jason X is hilarious haha. You guys laugh, but it’s got some great satire and commentary on the slasher genre.

DeAndrew Greene

I would recommend at least the 2nd one. I think it's pretty fun and adds to the lore in a creative way.

Kinokind

Did you notice that pogo-stick girl is the same girl as in Jurassic Park? Ariana Richards no longer acts, but is a successful artist. As for the sequels, as always, unless Jim Cameron directed a sequel, then the quality skews away from good. Still, the attempt at a TV series was fun (and it had Christopher Lloyd in it), but it sputtered out quickly. In it, grown Melvin turns out to be a money-grubbing real estate jerk, as one might expect. The explanation for the origin of the Graboids varies between the films and the TV series and Burt is the only constant between the TV and film series'.

TuvixLogic

Just don't look up the girls mugshot time wasn't friendly to her.

Tenn Seven

Lol. Canadians don't know anything about sunscreen, sunburns, or... the sun.

Jon

... yeeeaaaahhhh....... this is almost for CineCringe, right ? coz' boy, it's a bad movie... and don't tell me "but man, this is a classic ! " (apparently, in north America) ....... because some bad movies are classics... nothing to do with the quality of the movie (the "it's so bad it's good" effect) I mean.... I can understand if you like it because you grow up with it (we all have movies like that), but damn... I watched 40min, and coz' I'm a patient man

Christian Rennie

This is one of those "hidden gems" movies that if you aren't from a certain age then you would not know anything about it. Glad you got to see it. It is kinda timeless since it takes place in a town out in the middle of nowhere. Funny thing is that there was a Tremors tv show with Kevin Bacon that filmed a pilot for 2017 release but it was cancelled. It didn't go any further than that. Val goes back to Perfection and "graboids" are back. It is even more campy than the movie.

Tenn Seven

Jon Lajoie writes and performs folk rock songs under the name "Wolfie's Just Fine" (from the line in Terminator), and his song "Trying to Sleep" is an excellent homage to this movie; I recommend you watch the video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYHFAHldg_8&ab_channel=JonLajoie%2FWolfie%E2%80%99sJustFine EDIT: I also recommend his videos "A New Beginning," which is a tribute to Friday the 13th, "Break My Back," which stars the actor who played Todd, the foster father in Terminator 2, and "Staying with the Bomb (The Ballad of Charlie from Die Hard with a Vengeance)"!

benjamin freeman

tremors 2 is legit! not as good as the first but very good in its own rite and holds to the spirit and feeling of the original

Tippnasty

it is a classic. highly rated on RT, script is often referenced in screenwriting classes, practical effects are highly regarded - you man not enjoy it but it's far from a bad movie

DM DC

I was soooo excited for you to see this. I've seen other reactors react to this and it's just so much fun. I love this movie so much. I would recommend the 2nd one, and probably the 3rd one, but after that you can take it or leave it. 4 is actually a prequal so to speak. It's not necessary though. Honestly I do find them all enjoyable, but I would definitely watch the 2nd one at least. I have not seen much of the series but the episode I saw was fun. I just haven't had cable in so long and thus didn't have SyFy, which was the network that aired the original series with Burt. Later they would try another series with Kevin Bacon but I don't think that ook off. Which is a shame as I loved the character of Valentine and Earl. Sadly Fred Ward has pased away (RIP). But Michal Gross (Burt) would be in the later sequals from 2 and on with Fred Ward in the 2nd also.

WastedPo

So glad you enjoyed this. As far as the sequels, you should know that none of them actually opened wide in theaters, and none of them are as good as the original. There are some supporters of the second one, but I personally think (of the ones I've seen) that the third movie ("Back to Perfection") is the only one that comes close to capturing the spirit of the original. That said, if you're going to enjoy any of the sequels, you'll probably have to lower your bar of expectation.

Odd Thomas

Another great creature feature is Critters

Monica Alarcon

"I'm asuming they're gonna go crazy with creature lore" yes, oh god yes... you have no idea...

Chase Lonnergan

I will defend the Tremors sequels to the death! Yes... They are absolutely fucking stupid. They are... in fact... ri-GODDAMN-diculous! But that is the point of them. They KNOW that they are stupid. The entire Tremors franchise is deeply and affectionately self-aware. At the bare minimum, you should watch the second one, just because it manages to capture much of the same vibe as the first one, the Graboids start to make more sense, and then suddenly make LESS sense, and they figure out how to properly write Burt. I would say that it is 80% as good as the original.

IncredibleBulk

Simones comment at the start about bringing the cow over right to his face... i was husky sitting for a friend who was on holiday and fell asleep on the sofa. woke up with one of the huskies 2mm away from my face staring at me as it was feeding time, nearly jumped out my skin so don't need to imagine how shocking that would have been

FischerMax98

Kevin Bacon said he hated being in Friday The 13th also, and that he was ashamed of it. Kinda sucks. Stuck up actor. Not all good movies are mega hits. Have fun making a movie.

IncredibleBulk

im sure this has been covered but yes the first 3 films in my opinion are certainly worth the watch. if you watch the 3rd film the title shrieker island will make more sense. i found after the third it did go down hill and felt a lot like hellraiser in the fact of success in the earlier films meant they just kept throwing films together

REDR58

I happen to own exactly one former rental Blu-ray (“Hancock” with Will Smith from 2008) as my local Blockbuster was closing down and they were selling off stock cheap. It’s still in its Blockbuster snap case. I well remember renting videotapes of course, growing up in the 1980s but I have no love for VHS. 😝

Vwlss Nvwls

This is one of my favorite Fred Ward roles after Remo Williams and The Right Stuff. RIP Fred Ward :(

Ry Jo

PLEASE do the Tremors 2! I love the sequel, 2 is just such a fun ride.

Ry Jo

also btw a good Kevin bacon movie that I like is the river wild idk if you guys have seen it or not

Ry Jo

tremors 2 is good, after that I would not recommend, i have seen them all cause I love the the first two movies but the ones after 2 are just not so good

Alex Ch

Thanks guys, had fun!

Peter Moe

hope you continue the series!

Vwlss Nvwls

Most of the sequels are good, especially the fourth one. I think there was only one sequel that I really did not enjoy, and I think it was the last one. I do not think they marketed Tremors very well. I remember when my ex-wife and I saw it, we were just looking to go to the drive in and saw Kevin Bacon was in it, so we watched it.

Jeremy S

I'm so excited for this reaction, been waiting for it for so long!

Jason Rivero

Never really found the appeal for this movie. Glad everyone else had a good time, though.

FranciscoGios

I would like you guys to react to the Sequel of Tremors and stop from there, I haven’t seen the show or part 3 to me something tells me they are bad.

Chase Schleich

Reba McEntire does a lot of acting, or at least did. She had her own sitcom called "Reba" for years. I wouldn't be surprised if more people know her from that show and her acting gigs than as a singer.

E. D.

I think I´ll watch all the other ones. Not bc I expect they´re good but I wanna know what they came up with. The same regarding Hellraiser: last year I watched the first movie and plan to watch the other ones (I started watching the 2nd movie months ago but haven´t finished it yet) and uh.. those movies are pretty gory and gross but I still plan to watch them^^

Com1xguy

So, Jason in Space when?

Dakota

Tremors 2 is a great sequel, probably as good as the first Tremors. The quality and fun begin dropping by Tremors 3, and the show was bad. So please watch Tremors 2, you'll have a blast.

Tanx

3 is pretty good, the prequel is as good as 2. everything else...5 is a fun creature horror but some terrible jokes and a not so favorite side kick. 6 is better than 5 but not as good as the first 4 and still has an annoying side kick...oh btw talking about Jamie Kennedy. 7 is...well we don't talk about 7.

Nate Terry

YOU"VE NEVER HEARD OF THE TV SITCOM "REBA"???????lol

Tanx

Michael Gross is awesome as Burt Gummer. he is best known as Michael J Fox's father on the huge sitcom from the 80s called Family Ties. Also make sure to mark April 14th on your calendars because that is a holiday known as Burt Gummer Day. Also, Gummer for President! These were favorites growing up. well 1-4 were. my friends and I used to do marathons of the first 2 and then 1-3 when the 3rd came out. and then we all got together and had a marathon viewing of 1-4 when it came out. I really hate that the first was a box office bomb and only survived because it became such a mega popular movie on VHS. if it had done well KB would have come back for Tremors 2. He didn't want to do two because 1 bombed so bad in the theaters, so 2 ended up going straight to VHS. KB later evidently regretted not getting to play the character again and filmed a trailer for a SciFi channel show, that for some incredibly stupid reason was turned down. also, Mindy is Lex from Jurassic Park. Little fun extra, the original design for the graboid they went with was going to have a fleshy sheath covering it's mouth that would slid back when it opened up to eat. The producer said, "no no, we are not going to have giant ground penises eating people." Also you really really need to watch Tremors 2. 3 is also really fun if the cgi doesn't hold up super well. they did use some really awesome practical effects for the first 4, but 2 and 3 have some not so great cgi that didn't hold up as well. The story and lore is just awesome fun. The prequel is almost a must watch if you watch through at least tremors 2. You really need to know a bit about a certain character to make the prequel even better because of all the easter eggs. You really have to watch all the way through 3 to watch the tv series because it starts right where the 3rd ends. it's also pretty goofy with lots of crazy stuff and also has Christopher Lloyd aka Doc Brown. summary for if you want to watch the rest: 1-2 are super great, 3 is almost as good as 2 but some goofy stuff happens. The prequel is as good as 2. 5-7 are basically for the super fans and monster movie nuts. Also if you really enjoy Tremors, Dead Meat did some great kill counts for them and has tons of fun behind the scenes trivia.

Astraeos

Keep the recommendations for Tremors 2 coming folks, the more the better lol.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

It’s definitely better than most direct-to-video sequels ever made for sure! Fred Ward elevates it above what it should be :)

Brant

You should check out Fred Ward in The Right Stuff from 1983, playing Mercury astronaut Virgil “Gus” Grissom. It’s an amazing movie, with a stacked cast (Ed Harris, Scott Glenn, Jeff Goldblum, Harry Shearer, etc.)

Skyruff

If you don't know Fred Ward that means you have not seen "Remo Williams: The Adventures Begins" (1985) or "Chain Reaction" (1996 Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Morgan Freeman, and many more).

Jared Winn

Camp and cheese in the most fun and positive ways possible.

REDR58

Simone and George, I’m surprised you didn’t recognize Victor Wong (Walter) from “Big Trouble in Little China”! Anyone who watched the “Twin Peaks” series might recognize Charlotte Stewart (Mindy’s mother) as “Betty Briggs” who is the wife of “Major Garland Briggs” (Don S. Davis) in that show.

Gary Fixler

Meanwhile I'm just over here loving all of the sequels, because I just love the world, and the silliness of the whole idea. I even enjoyed the really stupid ones that I can't really defend in the slightest.

Gary Fixler

I'm about 1.5-2 months behind on CB (visiting family), and I've been slowly catching up, but when I saw Tremors, I had to jump the queue! It's been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid. There was a nerd in my high school who knew the entire movie, every word in order, and could recite it for you whenever 😆

Dioskur

This is an 11/10 movie, pinnacle of cinema history The only perfect combination of art and entertainment

Jared Spotted Eagle

The scene at the beginning where Val shakes the truck to wake Earl pretty much foreshadows the cliff scene at the end. Earl looks like a worm inside his grey/brown sleeping bag with it's pinkish red inner lining and he shimmies over the tailgate and flops onto the ground. I've seen this movie a lot of times since childhood and only just noticed last year. Thought that was pretty neat.

Sol-Edge

it gets ridiculous from the 3rd movie on, at least in my opinion

Shpadow

I cut off at 3. I've watched all three more than once. 4 I did not like. Never watched it again. Left the series there.

Astraeos

They also clearly didn't watch 3 Ninja's growing up, or else they would've recognized him as Grandpa

Tenn Seven

It's cheesy as hell, but he was also really good in "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins". That movie is kind of a guilty pleasure, "really bad but kind of good" movie for me. I laughed when they said he looked a lot like Jon Bernthal because I've always thought the same thing! (Bernthal looks like Ward though, not the other way around!)

sheriffjt

I was hoping that after watching Friday the 13th that both Jason Takes Manhattan and Jason X were somewhere in your future, hopefully that wasn't unfounded. None of them are award winning movies, but all of them are fun!

G Lam

I disagree here. She does deserve out sympathy. Here Simone, I present you all of the sympathy in the word.. it's right here in this teacup.

Twoside

there is a Tremors 2003 TV series with 13 episodes thats is taking place after Tremors 3: Back to Perfection.

brian burke

i have never been drunk, but i did get severely affected by medication which was similar, so i sympathize with simone, i am amazed you made it to do the show the next day, despite how hungover you are. congradulations you pushed on.
