We noted in the previous post that we would be uploading the full versions of our converted videos to both YouTube and Vimeo in order to protect the archive we are building on Patreon from a future YouTube take down. 

With all of the original video links retored, we now have a mix of Vimeo and YouTube hosted videos on Patreon. What we would like to know is which video player experience you prefer, YouTube or Vimeo? Your answers will help us decide which way to go moving forward.

Vimeo loads the videos a lot quicker. Hopefully that option will continue to be available if it’s cost effective for y’all.

I subscribe to Google music. Along with the subscription to Google music I get the premium YouTube video player. One of the perks of premium YouTube is that I can plug my ears with my Bluetooth headset and listen to videos all day everyday via YouTube while at work with my screen turned off but the audio continues to play. I can not do that (that I know of) with the Vimeo player. However, if YouTube wants to be shitty by disabling SiriusTimes channel, then Vimeo it is. I will just have to adjust. Whatever it takes to continue to get Bobby Hemmitt and others priceless information thru my ear canals!

Based on the poll results, we will use the YouTube player on future posts. All future videos we post will also be uploaded to Vimeo as an online backup for the archive. If for some reason our YouTube channels go down again, we will be able to recover much more quickly.

For those that want to listen to YouTube or Vimeo videos with their phone screen locked, try Aloha browser for iOS. Does basically the same as google music or YouTube premium but for free :)
