I have not watched a bollywood film since I was a kid with my family (and repeatedly after that), but I'd be interested to hear you discuss Lagaan. It's about colonialism and cricket, from my recollection. It's...very long.

Matt Souza

Gotta add Chinatown to the Noir and Neo Noir section.

Andrew Thornton

I mean, you could do an Orson Welles month focusing on his post Citizen Kaine career. Touch of Evil is great. He didn't direct The Third Man but was heavily involved. The Magnificent Ambersons is a fascinating film, as much for what isn’t in the released cut as what is. F for Fake is amazing and a fascinating documentary. Mr Arkadin has a ton of style. Chimes at Midnight is tremendous but maybe not you guys' speed. You'd like The Trial though. All of Macbeth, Othello, The Lady from Shanghai and the Stranger are at least interesting. Then there's the fascinating story of The Other Side of the Wind.

So not having Paramount Plus means I never embarked on the Star Trek saga with you all. But I am still very interested in the movies + next generation? I think the first season of Original is on Pluto TV now but it's quite the watch deficit so I'm mostly interest in jumping on. Are the movies an okay jumping on point?

Katy Dubu

You need an Abby's suggestions month or more. I usually skip the star trek stuff, but I'm glad you're having fun!

Re: Historical movies: "All The President's Men"? Re: Bollywood, if you're gonna do RRR you HAVE to do one of his first movies Eega. Just look up as little as possible as you can (to not see the execution) but I'm sure it may be enough to sell you.

Johnny Scissors

I now see why there are entire podcasts dedicated to Star Trek

Paul Richards

Honestly, I know it was kind of written off but I’m a DOA apologist. I think it’s super fun, knows what it is, and the fights are great and weirdly wuxia inspired.

Dan John Peter Sillesen

You have Home Video Redemption and not list The Shawshank Redemption? :D

Dan John Peter Sillesen

Unusual Killers: Drive Wanna get in to some Danish cinema? That is not von Trier, Th. Dreyer or Refn, think about Anders Thomas Jensen. There is a lot of others to pick from, but I really think you should check out ATJ. Recommendations: The Green Butchers Adams Apples Men and Chickens Riders of Justice

Really enjoyed this one. I thought you guys cut Biopics and Historical Dramas a bit short, though, so I thought I'd add some more suggestions: Historical Drama: - The Last Duel: Could also go in the box office flops. Really underrated Ridley Scott movie that came out during COVID, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck - Nickel Boys: Was nominated for Best Picture last year—great movie about a southern reform school during Jim Crow. - Blackberry: Pretty great movie about the rise and fall of Blackberry from the guys who made Nirvana the Band the Show. Biopics: - I Am Here: Also nominated for Best Picture last year—Brazilian film about a mother dealing with the impacts of the military dictatorship. - The Aviator: Throwing this out if you guys haven't watched it. It's a personal favorite of mine from Scorsese. - The Last King of Scotland: Probably have heard of this movie about Idi Amin's rule in Uganda that got Forest Whitaker his first and only Oscar nomination/win.

I've been greatly enjoying watching and listening along with you guys as you go through ST: TOS. I have wanted to watch it for many years, but this gave me the push to finally do it. I also had never watched any Columbo before, which I quite enjoyed and would love to see you guys watch some more episodes of that. Maybe a spin off podcast of TV shows would be the best option, even if it takes big breaks. I also wanted to say thank you Alex for exposing me to David Lynch. I don't think I ever would have watched Twin Peaks or his films if it wasn't for the Watchcast.

Casey Neal

The 'shitttttt' category month should be retitled 'day ruined month'

Tomba

I'll go ahead and say it: Star Trek TOS is a pretty bad show. I watched along for the first season, and while I enjoyed the podcast after, getting myself to watch the show itself was pretty hard... It's just no fun to watch. If it were up to me, skip the lot of it and move on to TNG.

cyanihilist

As someone that tends to not care for Star Trek, I would much rather see you all spin that off into its own side-series and the regular watchcraft operates as is. Would be a big bummer to see it become solely Star Trek focused.

Shane W

Another Devil movie suggestion would be Longlegs. Great atmosphere and NC is amazing. Maybe an Urban Decay month? Wolfen and It Follows, perhaps.

Ricktor_Black

If you guys are going to do Film Noir... You should watch Brick! Is a modern film noir set in s high school and Ryan Johnson's first movie.... And it's awesome.

Michael

I just watched Cabaret for the first time and have you thought about "Films that should have won their years best picture Academy Award"?

Kevin Larsen

I think I've watched one Bollywood movie in my lifetime and it was Dhoom. My boss at the time "recommended" it because I like the Fast and the Furious movies and Dhoom was the Bollywood "knockoff". I can't say it's good, but I don't remember laughing at just how silly it was. Maybe not a good recommendation if you're looking for good Bollywood movies, but it might be a good watch for a laugh. Oh, and there is a Dhoom 2 and 3 😁

Nathan

I hope some point you all can watch PG (Psycho Goreman). Its fantastic horror/comedy released in 2020 that's like it fell out of the early 90s. This could easily fit into Tubi Slock.

Nathan

Transporter 1 and 2 for a "i have particularly set of skills" Not 3 its kinda doggy poo poo.

Peter L Eldred

I think Touch of Evil and The Third Man are also the start of a really good Noir month, I guess? Throw in like Double Indemnity and something else (Mildred Pierce?) and you have a lot of movies very ready to show you wet dark streets and venetian blind shadows, kind of in a progression from the former to the latter.

Peter L Eldred

For your western block: -High Noon is still a classic choice -The remake of 3:10 to Yuma is a banger -Bone Tomahawk is some kind of awesome gritty western horror, and could also be an incredibly dark horse Kurt Russel month choice.

Juice Man

For Neo Noirs, you should definitely add Under the Silver Lake, by the director of It Follows. It is extremely weird, funny, disturbing, and enthralling!
