What started with Vinny's story about a dead car battery ended up with a lengthy discourse on energy policy and the future of technological process that we're quite sure will one day be viewed as nothing less than a new dawn for humanity.

The Toyota Mirai? I think is the name but they have a hydrogen powered vehicle, I think the pumps are non existent basically, something like that.

Regarding launching nuclear waste (or anything) directly into the sun, my understanding was that it actually requires a lot more energy and effort/maneuvers than you'd think to send something literally into the sun. NASA wrote that, regarding the Parker Solar Probe, "it takes 55 times more energy to go to the Sun than it does to go to Mars." https://www.nasa.gov/solar-system/its-surprisingly-hard-to-go-to-the-sun/

I once fired up Kerbel Space Program and decided I wanted to fling a rocket into the sun. Turns out, that's super hard, cause you gotta basically counteract the velocity you get from starting on Earth/Kerbin. I just wound up in an orbit slightly inside Earth's with no fuel.

With all the energy grid talk, in case you haven't seen it already, this is an amazing video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtQ9nt2ZeGM TL;DW: we have the capability and it's now cheap enough that there's almost no reason for us to not transition to renewable energies

Vinny just throwing out Pluribus spoilers with no warning
