Just for the record since Brad continues to be curious, in Morrowind every NPC was killable (last Bethesda RPG where this was the case), and it would permanently end your ability to complete quests including the main one (though there was a super interesting "backdoor" route to completing the main quest even if one of those NPCs met an early grave. On a related note, every locked door could be picked/trap undone, so they didn't just arbitrarily decide quest doors/locations would be locked until exactly when they decide the player is allowed to access them.

Oh, and I felt I should add, that while killing certain NPCs did break some quests, outside of the Main Quest in many cases the game had dialogue that accounted for these deaths and the game would just keep rolling.

Glad to see some coverage for Shadow Gambit! Though sad to hear that it will be the last game from Mimimi Games.

From a guy with 5000+ hours in path of exile I will tell you, the lore is fine but nothing like mass effect. It is also not its selling point though

As a guy with 2000 hours in PoE, the lore (not the narrative) is definitely on par with mass effect - multiple cultures over many periods of history, who tells the history and why.... you can search for lore and there are a lot of interesting bits to it, especially considering it's a "New Zealand centered" take on fantasy. It is not lore that lasts for 2000 hours, but they do update it interestingly, regularly. It is not critical to gameplay so most people will skip it and say it's not good, but if you play slow and get into it, it legitimately has a lot of interesting worldbuilding and interpretations on tropes that are different than most media.

FPS is really, really good. Those 4 and a half hours flew by in a couple sittings.
