Context for the Poem:

My aim with this year's poem was to recreate the chanting pattern of many old Folksongs, where there are repeated lines that cut out the need for mass memorisation. So long as someone remembers the words that change, everyone else can just enjoy the chorus. 

I'd love at some point to do an audio recording of this poem, with one person reading the alternating lines, while a crowd says the repeated lines back to them. That round a winter campfire? Absolute aspiration fodder.
