Transition Update (GRS) (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone,It's been over a year since my last Transition Update. Quite a lot has happened in the meantime. My nose and breasts have healed well. I've actually had another quick surgery in December (Orchiectomy) that I did not make a full post for, but that went well. And everything in my life has, in general, improved tremendously.I can even sometimes admit to myself that I look good, even if it's hard. Gender dysphoria is slowly turning into body dysmorphia, which basically means that I've become a passoid with impossible beauty expectations who still sees every little bit of imperfection. What can I say? I have an eye for aesthetics, and that is both a blessing and a curse. I have learned to love clothes and styling to the point that I'm considering opening up a personal styling service for trans women. I know how hard it is to have to relearn all of the things that ciswomen have had centuries to perfect, and I'm told a lot that I've become quite good at it, so I want to share that and help others. (Giving myself compliments like that is quite difficult for me. I'm just repeating what others are saying.) Oh, and also, in case you've missed it, I'm now going by my second chosen name, Jennifer, or Jenni, because I just felt... ready for it... feminine enough to take on the name that I've always actually preferred, if that makes sense. And on top of all that, as you can see in that photo, I can control the sea now. It has been a good year. But the one big surgery that is supposed to fix the last shred of fear of being outed (because somebody might see the slightest bulge) was still always a far-off idea. I signed up for a consultation for vaginoplasty in Summer 2024, had to wait for that consultation until around March 2025, had to wait another four months and go through countless document exchanges for the health insurance to agree to pay for it, and then was put on an 18-month waiting list only after that. So surgery was expected in February 2027.
I did, however, tell them that since I'm working on my own terms, thanks to all of you wonderful people ♡♡♡, I would be flexible to react on short notice if a date became available before then. Well... apparently somebody backed out of their surgery at the last minute. They called me on October 9th to tell me that my surgery would be on October 29th. So I got 20 days to prepare for the (hopefully) biggest life-altering procedure of my time on Earth.
So for the past week, I've been a little whirlwind, trying to balance finishing the new patch, scheduling doctor's appointments, taking blood tests, rescheduling anything that would have taken place during my hospital stay, buying all sorts of necessary (and unnecessary but entertaining) goods that I need for my hospital stay and beyond, and in general trying to stay calm. Oh, did I tell you I also had a photo shoot scheduled for next week that couldn't be changed anymore? Fun.
And so this is a very, very stressful time ahead of something that I need to be calm and healthy for. As I write this, I realize it is starting to sound like a post apologizing for why the next patch will be delayed, but it's not. I will finish it. It's almost done. I made huge improvements over the past weeks. But maybe I will not be able to finish everything exactly as I had planned, and I will not be able to fix everything in the same quick manner as I usually would afterward because, like, I'll be in a hospital bed. Duh.
But regardless of all that, I'm really looking forward to getting this procedure done. People like to get poetic about it being the last step in their journey, or that it'll finally make them feel 100% woman, and that doesn't really apply to me. I already feel 100% woman, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last surgery I ever undergo to feel like myself either. But it'll make me happier (and hopefully also sexually more active again).
Okay, so how does this affect the schedule on here? Because this is so last-minute, I haven't really been able to plan ahead for the releases. The Alpha release of v0.7.8 is basically delayed until sometime next week because of all the extra workload to prepare for surgery, and then I'll be gone for at least two and a half weeks. The beta release will then happen sometime after I'm back. Maybe mid-November, basically on a normal schedule. And after that, I do need a few weeks of recovery, which I cannot yet clearly foresee. I'm honestly a little mad at that because I've seen the v0.8.0 art and it looks so good. I was really looking forward to releasing that soon, but it is what it is. I might have to break my rule of surprising y'all with new content only when it's time to implement it.
Graciously, Miss Spiral has agreed to give us some filler content on super short notice. She's an angel for jumping in with this little time. I've sent her a Halloween story outline that fits into a series, along with last year's "Curse of Euphoria", which was released when I was last in hospital in December. Go catch up on that one here.
And that's all I wanted to talk to you about today. I hope you can be happy and excited for me, and allow me this little time off for surgery. Afterward, I'll be back with a banger v0.8.0 release. I promise you won't be disappointed. No, really. It's that good.
Best,Jenni
