Here are the options I have for next show! Thank you for those that provided these options 💚

With seeing Ardal in Taskmaster, and you loving IT Crowd...Father Ted is a no brainer

Josh

Not seen anything of them so any would be new for me too

James

Man Down is so good and I hope you get to see it at some point, but Father Ted's a classic 👍

Julian

I’m jealous of you having so many shows to watch for the first time. Father Ted will win this, and deservedly so. It’s an accurate documentary about the Catholic Church 😛 I would also predict that you’ll enjoy Man Down just as much. They are both very silly shows, and they are both a Mandy type of humour. Derek - I haven’t seen it. I know you’re a Ricky/Karl completionist, I respect that. I’ll watch it whenever you watch it, but I’m not excited about it.

Z is for Zed

No contest, surprised this hasn't been on Mandy's radar sooner.

Nick

You'll love Father Ted. All time great show.

Chill Bill

What, no Ghosts? 😭

Josh

All 3 choices have contestants from previous taskmaster series

yemmlie

Oh my, easiest choice in the world :D its almost a crime you've not yet been able to see Father Ted

[Insert name here]

Come on people let's be a little more imaginative! At least give Mandy shows that every other reactor hasn't done to death.

Joeb

Hmm none of these particularly tickle my fancy. I reasonably enjoyed Derek when it released, but I've never really had much of an interest in seeing it again. Chronologically speaking, Life's Too Short would be the next Ricky show and I do enjoy that one (as well as the season of After Life I've seen). I also would love to see Spaced in one of the future polls. It's only two seasons (6 eps per season), and the legendary combination of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright don't miss! Finally, Friday Night Dinner would be another good one. Light inbetweeners vibe, but not as gross (or funny, lol) but still a very enjoyable watch.

Julian

Hope to see Friday Night Dinner or Alan Partridge on a future poll. Only Fools and Horses obviously too. That’s a long one. Maybe when the XFM slot opens up.

AWR93

I’ve only seen Derek out of these three, but happy to watch and discover new shows with Mandy 🤗 Should be fun! Also Mandy could you add this video to your YouTube list? I wanna see if you can see some of the inspiration behind the Cunk character! ☺️ https://youtu.be/VWDP_ew8HqQ?si=ASU1fBIyyTw-VFtC

Julian

The most popular shows will always be recommended the most. It’s not going to be the same audience on each reactors channel, even if there is some crossover.

(Just) Steve

Argh! Three good shows to choose from... I had to go with Father Ted though as I think you'll love Ardal O'Hanlon (from Taskmaster) as Father Dougal! If I had to choose for you, from what I know you like, it would be 1. Father Ted 2. Man Down 3. Derek.

(Just) Steve

You've never seen Father Ted?!

(Just) Steve

There is one episode of Derek which i'm not ashamed to say brought a tear to my eye. (any one who's seen it will likely know what i'm talking about - no spoilers for Mandy though!)

steven

Hey Mandy, as much as I want you to watch Derek, I have to admit it’s only for the cringe factor, lol. I love Father Ted, and I think you’ll enjoy it much more than the others. The writing and acting are far superior, and since it looks like it’s going to win, I’m really looking forward to watching it with you. Thanks! 🤗🤗

Muggins

No bad options but you can't go wrong by sticking to the classics. (Ted)

Jeffrey44

Remember, the poll is non-binding. MCL (Mandy Cane Lane) is well within her rights to ignore the result and just react to Mrs Brown's Boys.

[Insert name here]

I understand your point, many creators are falling into the same patterns, which makes it hard for them to stand out. I’ve also narrowed down who I follow for similar reasons. While reactors like Mandy work hard to bring great content, the repeated focus on the same shows does make it harder to find fresh stuff. Channels like EB, ETS21, and CityBoys struggle not due to talent but the lack of variety, which risks losing audiences in an overcrowded space. Variety could really set creators apart. That's all I'm advocating for and you must see that as a committed patreon.

Josh

Not that God awful crap, please noooooooooo 🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Ash Jeffries

Father Ted is brilliant! Man Down is great! Derek.... I mean, it does have Karl in it, so that's good... 😉

Remi

Derek is fun (especially the bloopers) but father ted is probably one of the stupidest weirdest yet funniest shows I've ever seen GIIERRRLLLLSSSS🥃

Alan

+1 for Spaced

David Baker

Has to be Father Ted Total Classic you will love it and then you should watch Derry Girls

Yoshua Simoleit

I feel there are very few universally loved British shows left for you to watch (Father Ted is one of them), I fear from here on out there will be many shows which split opinion. For example, I would be recommending The Royle Family, or Fresh Meat to watch at some point, but I'm sure there are loads of people who couldn't care less about those shows (wrongly, of course), just as I couldn't care less abut Derek or Man Down. I'm curious if there are any fans of Fresh Meat and the Royle Family in this here Patreon?

Josh

The royal family is awsome. I've never watched fresh meat though. There are loads of awsome comedies for Mandy still to watch. She will get to them all in time, so let's not overwhelm the poor woman 🤗

Julian

I personally want my favourite reactors to see my favourite shows. Some of them I’m happy to watch many times. Once they have been ticked off other shows will come to the fore. I find there is variety too though. I’ve watched several shows for the first time through reactions. I’m sure everyone watches a different selection of channels. I don’t watch EB or Cityboys, but I watch plenty of others. Sometimes there is repetition, sometimes not. I haven’t watched Father Ted for a couple of years, happy to watch it again.

Josh

When does the poll close?

Julian

Running out of universally loved shows doesn’t mean we’re going to run out of amazing shows. I don’t put a lot of faith in things which are ‘universally loved’. Sometimes it’s just because a show was heavily promoted or because of which channel it was on.

Remi

Lurkyo

Muggins

If the options presented are not to your taste you could at least suggest another comedy as a replacement.

Muggins

Mrs. Brown vs Benidorm vs Miranda (the sitcom) .. just imagine that scenario for a moment 🥺😭

[Insert name here]

Well I did pick Father Ted, even though Derek had the fewest episodes I couldn't brung myself to select it, lol

Remi

🤣 I agree albino watching that shite

Yoshua Simoleit

Yeah I agree there are still loads of good shows. I think it might just be harder to reach a consensus that everyone will love. You know, I'd love to get Mandy to react to The Young Ones, just because of how unhinged that show was. And Still Game too, lol, partly just because of the thick Glaswegian accents although it is amazing nonetheless. Anyway I don't doubt there will be plenty to enjoy. I can feel the Father Ted coming along soon, very excited for that.

Muggins

Has anybody here seen Dead Pixels? It's about a couple of roomies who are addicted to an MMO. Kind of like the Warcraft episode of South Park. It has Charlotte from TM and the Ghosts too. It was kind of funny but i don't think it got very mainstream at the time due to the content, and I've never seen it mentioned here which is surprising given Mandy's a gamer.

emu cat

F Ted is British comedy canon, go no further. make it so or orc medicine for you !

Wagoo

Red Dwarf is my pick :P

2026-09-23 20:00 I guess Derek is not happening again then 😞 Its only 13 eps. Ach.
2025-01-27 00:03

Searlas D

Father Ted is a classic so it's an easy choice.

Josh

Maybe we can get Derek when peep show finally ends 🤗

Josh

You could put some subliminal messages into the xfm videos 🙂

Terje Flågan

For a moment there, I thought we were talking about the German detective Derek, but then I realized it's spelled Derrick. Wow, now I really feel like watching it again. I wonder if it has aged well. My favorite character was Harry Klein. Highly recommended.

Alex

Would absolutely love Mandy to react to Still Game! Have accepted that there's no chance a Scottish show would ever win on a poll here though

hasty rewrite

A Bit of Fry and Laurie is pretty iconic and would be a fun watch

Yoshua Simoleit

Yeah for me Still Game is up there with Blackadder and Fawlty Towers, but yeah I fear we may lack political support for that particular proposal.

Josh

No, but I have wanted to for ages. I'll get around to it one day 🙂

Josh

I'll support still game 🙂 Imagine Mandy's face watching the stauner sketch 🤣🤣

Jeffrey44

You are only saying that because it is a programme (or show as an American would say) that you enjoy. That isn't the only criteria to consider when recommending something for our American friend MCL (Mandy Cane Lane) to react to. In fact, I'd say she should react to things that aren't necessarily universally popular too. I would like her to react to Mrs Brown's Boys. Maybe not the full series but one episode at least. It's the reaction that counts not the quality of the programme. The truth is, Red Dwarf is a man's programme (or show as an American would say) about men (or guys as an American would say). It covers topics of interest only to men such as spacecraft, time travel, parallel universes, highly evolved humanoid domestic pets, robots, androids, soup flavours (or flavors as an American would say), sarcasm, dirty underpants and/or vests, (or wife beater as an American would say, bizarrely), comedic and/or perilous situations, holograms, computer chess, computer and video games in general, playing guitar, death of a parent or parents, male grooming, Adolf Hitler and being tongue tied. Admittedly, it does cover the popular British soap opera Coronation Street in one episode which would obviously be of great interest to women but I don't think that one episode is enough to sustain a woman's interest over a whole series without any "will they/won't they" romantic subplot to it. A woman could watch Red Dwarf if they were in the company of a man, e.g. a boyfriend, husband, priest, brother or Father etc. but they probably wouldn't enjoy it if they watched it alone as it isn't really made for them and their ways.

Jeffrey44

Josh is only 14, don't forget.

GeordieJordan96

Wonder if anyone has suggested inside no.9

Jeffrey44

I sent her an episode of Lee Mack's 3x3 and said she should watch it blind. As far as I know, she never did.

Z is for Zed

Mandy's got that weird fixation on socks and feet which only men have, that's all the evidence I need that she's a man (and therefore would like Red Dwarf).

Julian

Did you copy and paste that from my tinder profile? I’ve been searching high and low for a woman who is interested in parallel universes and soup.

Josh

What a dog

Muggins

Karl is worthy of the Star tier anyway, it'll work itself out.

Josh

I think Mandy would really enjoy red dwarf, it's an excellent show 😀

Wagoo

Jeffrey44 - that's one of the most bizarre things I've ever read on here. Red Dwarf has a lot of female fans.. as evident in pics/vids from any of the conventions.. or online social media related to the show 🙄 Another reaction channel The Gallifrey Girls (2.. gasp..women..) have just concluded their watch through of Red Dwarf.. and had a jolly nice time of it

Tony Mingoia

I too would love her to do Red Dwarf. More than anything in fact. At least the first 6 seasons. We all know it's past its best after that. The Gallifrey Gals (Patreon & YouTube) are doing it, and they love it. I'd say it's possibly their favourite show now. Both female. I've never got the impression it's a man's show. I think you're being humorous Jeffrey.

Tony Mingoia

Don't you threaten Mandy with Orc medicine! 😅

emu cat

heheh, I've Marmite but same result i rek.

It Was Jessica Fletcher

Randy Feltface - even if you don't "Watch"(listen to) the BBC radio series, "Randy Feltface destruct manual", at least watch the 2(+4?) YouTube trailers, on his channel

Ross

I have watched women on another patron watch Red Dwarf up to season 12 and they loved it, so I would ignore Jeffrey's misogyny. Not all women are the same and plenty like video games/ sci fi. Anyway Father Ted is a classic and similar to The IT Crowd so I voted for that one.

Ross

Watching Father Ted after watching Ardal on Taskmaster is such an obvious pick, I'm sure you'll love it!

Josh

Thank you to all who mentioned galafrey gals. I never heard of them until they were mentioned. Women certainly do enjoy red dwarf too 🙌 my friend went and met the cast at a convention a few years back and was very happy

I-Love-My-Brick

I'm glad Father Ted won. I know you'll love it more than you would have the other two

Muggins

If we start dropping the name now Josh, maybe Mandy will stop saying "never heard of it" by Christmas, and we can get it on the list some time next year 😉

Mandy Cane Lane

Hi! Yes! I have been meaning to do this and a few other specials. Need to find time!

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahaha! I like the "it'll work itself out" philosophy! I am only a tiny little woman with so many hours in a week 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Red Dwarf is on the list guys! And is my sock obsession really a guy thing? 🤔

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahh, interesting! Well the idea is to eventually get to all of them 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

All on my list! No idea what order though, just kind going with the flow 😅

Josh

Well you could have let us know 😲

Mandy Cane Lane

I am just here for the laughs lads! The funner the shows, the happier I am 😃

AWR93

Thanks Mandy, you’re the best! 💫

Benjamin Taylor-Yates

I mean my favourite childhood film 'Valiant' stars Ricky Gervais as a voice actor. 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Well, Extras and The Office were great fun! Not sure why Derek wasn't as succesful 😅

Josh

You will have to.wait and see who when you get around to them ☺️

Muggins

Only sometimes 😜, your spontaneity and unpredictability is one of your most enjoyable traits to be fair 🤗
