After hearing DD reference Morphin, and then I take a look at the colorful mike colors yall got going on now.....I think my theory is you guys are the next Power Rangers! All jokes aside this was fun. Glad you all got the hints that Ymir is a titan! (Maybe go back and look again at what Ymir was saying to Christa because it was pretty important)

no the priest (Nick) wasnt talking about Ymir, he was talking about Christa, Mikasa just said that christa always hangs out with Ymir and Hange was surprised at the name Ymir, you missed an OVA so the context isnt there

Sasha brought the note in at the same time they were discussing Christa/Ymir. She gave the note to Hange describing the events of episode 2 when she returned to her village and saved that little girl whose mom was getting eaten.

The priest did refer to Christa, only that the boys mentioned Ymir to describe that Christa is always next to Ymir, and why did Ymir sound a little louder in that conversation? When you see the Ilse's notebook OVA you will understand, I honestly think that when you see all AoT you will have to see it all again and you will be able to realize thousands of other things that you didn't realize the first tiem, it happened to all of us 😅

I can't remember which half of season 3 it is, but that's the only one I would consider spoilery. If people use their noggins they could figure out one big thing (though I've only seen one person figure it out), however it also shows a lot of what happens in the first few episodes. So all in all it probably doesn't matter but if they were to not watch one due to potential spoilers, I would say don't watch the 2nd one of season 3 (I believe).

I watched the Opening and Ending every single week during the AoT era and it did not affect the hype for the show one bit. Just like movie trailers, the rules of opening songs is to be ambiguous and misdirectional without context.

Just to clear up the monkey Titan was climbing the outer wall going away from us and into Titan territory. So the monkey Titan was not going inside. The wall he would need to climb to go inside wall sina is pretty far away and we know they were close to the outer most wall rose because they were taking a break from checking that wall for breaches.

It's definitely a show that deserves to see it several more times, I think I have already seen it at least 5 times in its entirety, it still impresses me every time :D

AOT is notorious for making you care about all the minor side characters before you have to watch them die gruesome deaths and you die a little inside too. Like in this episode, you see Gelgar craving for a drink all night long, right to the moment he is eaten by a titan, and you do feel sorry for him that he never got that drink before he died. Or you see Nanaba being dismembered by titans acting as a relapse trigger for her, causing her to cry out for her father to forgive her and that she won't do "it" again, and you can't help but wonder what she had to have gone through with her father for these memories to be unlocked right before her death. And the thing is, these are very minor characters. You don't even have time to grieve them because the scene cuts away right afterwards and the story goes on. But they add so much depth to the story, making that world feel real and lived-in, and it's just genius writing, really. *chef's kiss*

"For as much as the intros may have spoilers in it....you have no context..." Well said Mason Quinn. So many reaction channels are full of people telling the reactors "DON'T WATCH THE COOL HYPE INTRO! IT CONTAINS SPOILERS" Like yeah, the spoilers seem pretty obvious now that you've finished the season/series and know what happens, but for everyone else it just builds up hype and mystery adding to your enjoyment of the season. It definitely added to my enjoyment of the reaction watching Oak do his conductor thing. lol Also, I think you guys should give more credit to the animation team. It's pretty common in the anime industry that many anime episodes are animated the same week that they air. As you would imagine, this is very stressful for the animators and an ongoing problem in the anime industry. It just shows you how talented the team is that works on AoT. Likewise, as much as I love Invincible, the animation is a C+ at best. It was funny when they broke the 4th wall with that animation rant in Season 2 episode 7, but even their best animated scenes don't come close to your average AoT ODM battle.

Guys.. there's no filler. Every convo is super important. On a rewatch you'd be so shocked how much the convos matter lol. Don't rush through them to get to the action cus honestly I think the fun part is paying attention to the little clues and trying to figure it out. Also so you know brown har is ymir, blonde hair is Christa. Christa is the one the religious figures have to protect, Ymir is the one that turned into a titan.

I watched it for the first time recently (after finishing the series) and, at first, I thought the same thing, but then I thought longer on it and realized that it would give more questions than answers. I think IIse's notebook is better after you've finished the series.

This is so true. You want to know something funny? I waited until the entire series had finished before watching it (this was because, I watched seasons 1 & 2 when their aired and I realized after only one episode of season 2 that I didn't remember jack.) Anyway, I got so fustrated around the end of season 2 that I decided to spoil myself and read the entire ending of the series online. You wanna know something. It made absolutely NO SENSE! 😂😂😂😂😂 You really have no other options but patient and just watch it all the way through.

I think it's normal for people to hype a season finale or the 1st episode of a season. That's usually where most shows place their big moments. However, I think some fans forget that a big reason why certain episodes are so special is because they caught you off guard. At the moment, I don't think the comments are bad enough that they need to disable them. But as they get further into the series, they're going to attract more fans so they may need to add more moderators as Jia stated. The Youtube comments are going to be a shit show after season 2.

Copying my previous comment! I don't think I saw anyone explain what the "red dots" in the new opening are. It represents their hearts which is a call to the name of the opening (Shinzou wo Sasageyo) - it means dedicate your heart. You see them say this phrase a lot in the show especially from people in the military like Erwin. So in the song it's basically showing them quite literally "dedicating their hearts to humanity."

They really don't They come and go way too fast and everything that you see is either a red herring or it's couched in heavy symbolism or context that you simply don't have. The only people that have ever gotten spoiled from opening credits are ultra weebs that analyze every single frame and theorize ad nauseum because they just don't have anything better to do.

I mean I've never seen an OVA but I had no problems understanding things. I think people *vastly* overestimate OVAs relevance to the story. If they were relevant and necessary, then they'd be in the actual shows, not in a side story.

Something I do think is interesting about anime versus American television is how dense a season of an anime is. At 12, 20-minute episodes (which is pretty much the standard), you're getting the equivalent of 4 hours of content for what's basically a whole show. Game of Thrones and other hour block shows can spend a lot of time building up to the plot and action, but anime has to throw a lot out per episode comparatively. This season is starting with this big battle around this castle, but it would take an American show several movies worth of build up to get to the big stuff. This is also why anime is really common to binge, whereas most people probably aren't binging multiple seasons of an hour-an-episode show in a single day.

Eren and Company is like 200-250km away. It'll take hours on horse back especially since horses can't sprint the whole way - and they don't know exactly where they are. (I don't remember the distance between the walls.)

For me the biggest difference btw Lost and AoT is that AoT reveals are actually satisfying. They all pay off. They subvert expectations without trying to shoe horn them in (looking at you Game of Thrones season 8). You get answers and you kick yourself for not realizing it earlier. Anime or otherwise I can't think of a show that does it better. The best is yet to come.

Lost had some pretty good reveals and build ups, even as good as Aot in the early seasons. The only reason Aot pays off is bc they actually have all the lines connect. Lost was dragged out and rushed near the end which led to its ultimate demise within the story.
