The next anime in sub - when this one actually better in sub. Sorry I know it’s not that deep, but i just can’t. Like anybody else who subscribes with expectations of sub, I feel the need to address this - at least they know. Regardless hope you enjoy the show. It’s not as simple as some people say (well depends on how you understand the literature & cultures involved); but overall very good & captivating show.

Yeah I’m honestly still annoyed at this, even jjk, mha, and vinland are better in dub than demon slayer and I guarantee those will be on the list again. I really hope they switch to sub. The already watched death note and fmab in dub as well

Guess it'll continue on dub. Shame that the great performance in sub is getting passed but it is what it is. Just so you know, the Japanese va for Sabito was the va for Eren from AOT. I hope every next anime to come are in dub too then cause it'll be better to go one way and have easier understanding while occasionally sacrificing the va performance with dub all the time instead of moving back and forth from dub to sub unnecessarily.

I do not agree that JJK and MHA are better in dub, I really hope these two are experienced in sub ( along side Demon Slayer ) especially considering these two are also mainly set in Japan and the Japanese voice acting is top tier but Vinland on the other hand is completely fine to watch in dub

i prefer JJK in sub & MHA in the dub. demon slayer i enjoy both. whatever they choose to do i’d still watch along with them. just sync it up with the sub version so it can be more enjoyable for u while still getting their reaction.

Feel the same. I thought I was just being a hater so I started rewatching but the dub version and I ended up changing back to the sub every single episode after 10-15 minutes. Every. Episode. The serious parts just killed me with cringe in the dub episodes lol The dub made me feel like I was watching bluey or peppa pig and really lost all the emotional damage the sub version inflicts on you lol. The sub version makes me feel like I did watching AOT (sub, of course) when Erwin gives his speeches! I’ve resigned myself to having the sub version on my tv and watching their reaction on my phone, just sad they are missing out on the emotional deliveries the Japanese voice actors give in the sub version which, in my opinion, take this anime to the next level. Maybe next time after they do the poll for which anime will be next, maybe they can do a subsequent poll to see if we prefer it in sub or dub. But who knows, that’s just my suggestion 🤷🏽‍♀️

they said they most likely won’t be doing that. will be alternating instead. i know they haven’t been from the last two but maybe they just decide on it starting with demon slayer & moving forward. Erwin speech in the dub gets LOTS of praise. some even prefer it. and honestly i feel so neutral about this whole dub sub thing. whatever ppl choose to watch it in, i don’t care enough to try to change their minds. i’m just happy their watching & enjoying it.

I really can’t do anime in dub. Some older anime like death note/fmab is passable but this is unwatchable for me. No offense to the people who prefer dub but this is kinda atrocious imo…

I don’t get the whole sub or dub issue, they have a watch along format which if you’re watching along on crunchyroll just change your own to sub. They are alternating between sub and dub moving forward to be fair. They are already 4 episodes in let them enjoy the show jeez. guys you can let them enjoy the dub without being annoying, just put your watch along version on sub, problem solved. these comments are irritating and I don't even watch anime in dub but I just put my version on crunchy roll in the sub and problem solved no need to be rude about how people enjoy their anime, they struggled following the subtitles in AOT and have enjoyed watching shows in dub more. They are gonna force themselves to watch shows in sub in future just to stop annoying rude comments when they clearly can follow along and enjoy the dub better. let people enjoy things as they please

Womp womp. Demon Slayer is way better in dub anyway. I was super happy they decided to do this series in dub. Way better performances in my opinion. Sub has some good emotional moments, sure. But it doesn’t always match the vibe. Dub hits those emotions notes better for me and a lot of other people. Why complain when you can literally just match up your subbed version with theirs? It’s not that big of a deal. Most of these comments just come off as whiny, when there’s a literal solution to your issue. They already gave you AoT in sub, when arguably it was better in dub, based on a lot of fans. Especially with Erwin’s speech. Legendary and WAY better than subbed. Sorry not sorry that the boys wanna enjoy this anime in dub and not the version you guys always want 🤷🏽 Just be happy and enjoy the fact they they’re watching it finally.

Unfair argument, they would understand kdramas better if they watched it in English dubbed as well. Yet they watched it with English subs. Why? Because it is so unnatural. If they enjoy it less with the original sub then so be it. They have not said that’s to be the case though. The dub is quite literally that bad and they will see it in the YouTube comments as well which will get them less Patreon subscriptions. They are harvesting a community of anime fans who watch dub which is the minority… case in point of this comment section lol. They are missing out

Yeah it’s kind of inevitable tbh, people will complain about it because majority prefer sub. It’s just opinions, and they are aloud to speak it. The dub for demon slayer is just so unfitting for it, especially considering the entire anime is more Japanese than it is English: the clothes, names of the characters, some of the background music, even the places. It’s all pretty cultural. Honestly if they enjoy it in dub that’s fine, but I feel like they won’t take it as seriously as some of the voice acting is not great further into the series.

Dub haters are the loudest but that does not make them the majority. According to Netflix 80-90% of anime watchers use dub, and with Crunchyroll it is 52%. Dubs are the most accessible, plus these are real voice actors too who do a good job with modern anime.

I hate to be that person but there’s more people who pirate anime ( I know it’s bad and that’s why I don’t do it ), then watch on streaming platforms like Netflix and Crunchyroll. So those statistics given by Netflix & Crunchyroll actually mean nothing when there’s hundreds of ‘illegal’ anime sites that exist

Because in live action shows the mouth movements don’t match and the background noise is muted compared to original which is much more off putting than animation where that doesn’t happen. Lots of people enjoy animation on dub but find the mouth not matching movement off putting so they watch live action in sub is not that hard blind wave does the same thing. I know people in real life who also watch anime in dub but dramas in sub use your brain. If mouth movements matched much more people would watch k-dramas in dub. And they are not stopping you or anyone from watching the anime in sub they have a watch along format. You can choose whatever language you prefer to watch it you don’t have to watch the same they are watching. I watch in sub with Portuguese subtitles while I’m watching their reactions. So your guys argument is invalid because you can choose whatever language yourself for your watch preference

Well I argue since pirates views don’t count for nothing and that an anime doesn’t get renewed if all they have are pirate views who don’t give the studios any money. Only Crunchyroll and Netflix views count because they base how sucssefull an anime is off of those

I've not seen this anime, but I'm glad to see the dub v sub war still exists. Personally I always disliked dubs because the translations competely miss the point of phrasing/dialogue/tones and the experience ends up being completely different. The biggest one from my recent memory was Nier Automata. Played it the first time in Japanese, then in Dub, and oh boy the characters feels COMPLETELY different because of how they change dialogue, or the way someone said something. It was like I was playing 2 different games with the same base plotline. Before that I'd seen both for Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, FMAB, Black Lagoon all originally in JP then in Dub, and the character feel is quite different in dub due to translations trying to localise things or just straight up having their own spin on how the character would say it instead of trying to replicate the original.

i’ve seen both the sub and dub for demon slayer, the characters still feel the same to me. sure they change up some of the phrasing to fit the mouth movement but it gets the point across. doesn’t change the story. same thing with mha, jjk, death note, & fmab. for me personally i prefer mha, fmab, & death note in the dub.

You forgot that anime literally gets aired live on tv over on Japan & you can buy it too. That’s how I used to watch anime back in the day before streaming services became a thing. Anyways at the end of the day, Netflix and Cruchyroll are not the only platform to have anime ‘available’ for people to watch, so their numbers aren’t an accurate representation on how many anime fans watch it in sub or dub because NOT every fan speaks or understands English since anime is popular worldwide. Also Netflix and Crunchyroll don’t have anime available in every country

Just to put some positivity back in the comments because some people have become deranged but please continue to watch in the English dub! I have been watching along with subs as it is my preferred and I’ve been having so much fun. Demon Slayer is an anime that I think is amazing for those who had previous prejudices towards anime and animation for teens and up. Tanjiro is one of the only main characters that I feel doesn’t fall to the wayside for me. He’s a very good protagonist imo. I can’t wait until next Monday, which is a crazy thing to say because who wants it to be Monday lol.

Can you just shut up? Honestly. All up in these comments like this. I’m someone who alternates between sub and dub, and personally prefer DS in sub—but you are ridiculous. The dub is good and does not in the LEAST compare to Kdrama dubs. It’s also easier for them to react to and enjoy, especially since they like to take notes. Don’t watch if you don’t like and stop leaving these negative comments. It’s ridiculous and childish.

Yes there are a lot of legal ways to watch anime. That doesn’t change the fact that pirated views count for nothing towards the success of anime. Even if billions of people watch a pirated anime, if it doesn’t get legal views it’s considered a flop. Therefore therefore the opinion of people who only pirate is kinda irrelevant

If dub is easier for you guys to watch please stick with it! Don’t feel pressured to move to the sub version because I know firsthand how annoying it can be sometimes to focus on reading when you just want to watch the animation and not miss anything. I’ve watched this show in dub first then sub and I loved it either way, I’m just glad you guys are watching it!!

This is my first anime, it's nice to watch along you guys! I see people are still fighting over the dub sub thing 😭 Personally I wished you'd have chosen sub because Japanese sounds so nice to hear, but I'm also okay with dub! I'm not 100% convinced by the voice actors in the dubbed version, sometimes they sound too affected to me, but it's still very watchable.

RIP Tanjiro’s long hair! 🥲 Personally, I am not a fan of the dub, but I plan to continue watching with you all no matter what!! Although I can assure you that it would be a lot easier to follow along in sub than Attack on Titan was. While the story is great it’s not one where you need to remember every single minor detail. But if dub allows you all to enjoy the animation more I am all for it! I think Tanjiro’s Japanese voice actor just conveys intense emotion through his voice in a way that you don’t even need to understand Japanese to know what he is feeling. Something that could possibly just be harder to express in English because it comes off as “overreacting” depending on the scene. I had a roommate from Japan and they actually told me that a lot of the Japanese voices in anime sound cringey to her, so she would watch it in English dub instead.
