There is no Anne Rice novel about the Talamasca - this show is "inspired" by some concepts in Anne Rice's novels (especially The Mayfair Witches, which is the third TV show currently running under the "Immortal Universe" banner along with Talamasca and IWTV/TVL). These are stories and characters in this show have been mostly created by the Talamasca writers' room with no crossover from the Interview with the Vampire writers' room. Mark Johnson is the only producer to work on both shows other than Christopher Rice (and Anne Rice's name. but obviously she is not an executive producer).

yeah Talamasca as organization is part of the main books, mentioned and featured in both Vampire Chronicles, and Mayfair Witches books.. and couple of main characters in Chronicle come from it... it's not a separate book series.. but there's fairly little original content on them in the books, only basics and few plotlines... so I'm guessing they decided to make separate show on Talamasca in order to expand that universe and have more freedom create more supernatural stories that focus on more than just vampires. Since most of this, other than organization's existence and general lore, is their tv show original plot, it's a surprise to any of us what the show will do. so technically it's not fully Anne Rice only inspired by her universe. sadly so far most famous Talamasca characters from the books are not in the show at all it seams all the characters are their OC's

Miss Maya

6:00 it's William Fichtner and to me he will always be most famous as agent Mahone from Prison Break :) he was so good in that show!

Miss Maya

the team that writes and produces this show is totally different to IWTV one. also AMC puts Anne and Christopher's Rice names as "executive producers" on all the show but it's just honor title, they were not really involved in scripts of any of the shows.

T Kay

yes!!! that is where I always know him from. loved Prisonbreak

I really hope they start watching Mayfair Witches as well!!

Oh i'm sort of surprised y'all are doing this show! I was really excited to start it and I think it's not quite at the level of IWTV but i'm still intrigued enough to keep watching. I hope you guys enjoy it and maybe i'll love it more now that y'all are reacting too. ( I haven't pushed play yet here we gooooo!)

so Glad you've started this show. Im really enjoying it. Its a different show to ITWTV but it has me intruigued enough to keep watching and it's by no means bad. This first episode did a good job of setting up the major character arcs.

I love the story so far. A lot of lore exposition, a lot of it. Sometimes I wish they would show instead of tell.

Jacqueline Hahn

Oh, thank God I'm not the only one thinking "Eddie!" Haven't actually read this book (yet) so loving this new element of the Vampire Chronicles.

Aria Isara

I kid you not, around 18 min I said "he looks a bit like Eddie Redmayne" and 5 seconds later Oak said it too 😄 Enjoyable pilot, I love fantasy shows so I'm interested in seeing where it goes!
