AMC has The Mayfair Witches series as part of the Immortal Universe. It's set in New Orleans like Interview is. It has 2 seasons so far. You should be able to react to them before April 2026 when The Vampire Lestat is suppose to debut.

You think so, I don't. I have loved that trilogy since the 90s and I think it is great. I fail to see why people don't like it. Are they trying to hold it up against IWTV rather than judging it on its own merits? I can't help but feel like it is being hated for having a trans character/actress on it. If people are complaining about changes to the flow of the books, it's a TV show. If you look at The Witching Hour vs IWTV, The Witching Hour is OVER A THOUSAND PAGES. Of course it has to be modified and edited. The spirit of it is still there, 100%. Also, they have never read the books and are not going to have those to compare it to. There are people who hated IWTV in comparison to the book. It had a lot of changes, too. I just fail to see why people cannot understand that a TV show is going to have to make changes from a book, always. Especially one so full of rape, incest, and pedophilia as those are. People who are watching the show are going on to read the book and posting on social media about how horrified they are by the content in the books.

I’m making this comment as someone who hasn’t read any of those witch books and tried to watch it before I even knew it was part of the vamp chronicles or whatever (I just press on anything supernatural I see on Netflix lol) —I don’t think there’s any specific bigoted reason for ppl to dislike it, I hadn’t heard anything remotely about lgbt rep and I’m saying this as a queer person who indulges in that media regularly, I don’t think that’s the problem. I tried to get into it, and it was boring to me (and I don’t mean that to offend you) you’re entitled to your viewpoint but if you said you’ve liked this for so long that you basically grew over the decades with it, it makes sense you have a personal attachment to it. I think most people have a show that they have been following for years and have a personal attachment to, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s peak fiction or writing, which is ok to admit. A lot of ppl like me just don’t find it compelling, and it seems that a lot of the current audience, like you, “grew up” with it, which is totally valid! I know it can suck to see people shoot down a favorite show so it’s understandable to get upset, but if they do ever cover that show you may have to brace for the popular opinion they might have on it 😭

As a strong trans advocate and supporter with way more trans friends than the average person, I am of the opinion that having a trans character is not what people who don't like MW don't like about the show.

Knightmare

This show would be so improved if they actually leaned more into the fantasy stuff more than the spy stuff. The Talamasca is interesting because of the creatures in it. Guy is boring as Hell and extremely poorly written + inconsistent in terms of personality so the focus on him kind of just sucks imo. There's so much tell and no show, too.
