F&%$ YEAH!!!! I NEEEEEEDED THIS! I had to go get my husband off the side of the road this morning at 2:00 a.m. because his truck broke down on the way to work, and despite me trying to get him to focus on the positive things like the fact that he was only 10 minutes away from home that we both have a car so that I was able to come get him and other things like that he has been a Sour Patch Kid all day. This is going to help restore my mood so that I can continue to try to make him feel better!!

Thanks for the reaction, guys. I think the first third of the film is breathtaking. But it drops off quite a bit after the encounter with Tim Robbins. Still a good movie. 3.8/5 from me.

I found it so funny that The Answer almost had to laugh at some points — definitely because it reminded him of the scenes from Scary Movie 3. I felt the same way 🤣😅.

My main thought throughout most of this movie was, “what is with all this screaming!!” I’m sorry—I’ve watched (more like endured) this movie once before, and little girl ruined it for me. And I love Dakota. But this role? Oo lord. I get it, trust me, it’s a very scary situation. But for a film, the screaming was a LOOTTT. Homegirl was annoyinguhhh.

Cool! Ready with my coffee, starting work, and my iPad in the background with you guys watching the movie… 😁 Just like Oak, I’ve seen it so many times and it’s always amazing. And just a personal thing: that sound the machines make when they come out for the first time totally freaked me out for a while lol. When I watched it in the cinema, the sound was so loud it vibrated in my chest — it felt like a jumpscare from a really good horror movie.... And seriously… I’m literally begging at this point 😂😂 please watch Minority Report! 😭 It’s one of my favorite Tom Cruise movies and honestly, for me, it’s even better than this one, it's soooo cool

Never gets old, tons of rewatchability with this one, at least for me. My favorite part? Definitely (and I might be alone on this one) when Rachel starts singing Hushabye Mountain, the reason being because it's a song from my favorite musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (my favorite Dick Van Dyke movie, hoping y'all watch it one day). When I watched this my first time I had the same feeling as Mason Quinn and that's the sheer hopelessness, think it's a brilliant way that the way they fall is due to the microorganisms on our planet, makes perfect sense when you think about it, not sure if it ends that way in the novel though, even if it wasn't I still think it works. I'm not a sci-fi guy, for the most part I can't stand sci-fi unless it's horror sci-fi, but with this one, idk what it is, I just absolutely love it. 5/5 for me.

Honestly, I'm mostly just curious to see the reaction from the guys (if they react) when they see Tom Cruise throwing a baseball as if it's the first time he's ever touched one and CERTAINLY the first time he's ever thrown one.

Oh yes 100000% watch the new one, I've been wanting you guys to start watching "bad movies" for years now (The Room, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, In The Name Of The King, etc). It's so bad y'all will die of laughter I feel like. I have a soft spot for movies that's so bad they make me laugh.

I never found this to be annoying as such, but that's just because her acting was so AMAZING in my opinion, might be some of her best work.

First time watch give it a 4/5. Alien movies are pretty low on my list when it comes to supernatural things.

Not a fun fact, but definitely an interesting one: here in Ecuador we have a pretty intense history with War of the Worlds. The novel is really old, and back in 1949 a radio station in Quito decided to do its own adaptation in the style of the old radio dramas, you know, when stories were narrated like breaking news because there was no television yet. They delivered it so seriously and so realistically that people genuinely believed the alien invasion was happening for real. The entire city went into panic. And when everyone realized it was actually a dramatization… things got completely out of control. An angry crowd ended up burning down the radio station, and there were injuries and even deaths. So yeah… over here, the story from the book literally caused real-life chaos.

And I think this actually happened in other countries too — even Orson Welles did a similar broadcast in the U.S., though I don’t remember all the details. But from what I know, it wasn’t nearly as serious as what happened here in Quito, where the panic got so out of control that there were even deaths. It’s wild how a story can cause that level of collective hysteria.

This is one of those movies where I LOVE the first half of it, and then it kind of falls apart in the second half for me. The visuals are amazing.

Wow! It did happen in the U.S. as well, causing mass panic because it intentionally was set up as breaking news rather than the reading of a story. People fled their homes, and there's some debate as to whether it caused deaths or injuries. It led to a lot of discussion and was a contributor to our "disclaimer" entertainment culture.

I enjoy this movie but Dakota forever ruined it with her nonstop screaming. I disliked the kids in general, their actions were so infuriating. Years later I rewatched and remember why I usually skip it. That and I do think the second half of the movie is less enthralling. I will say I love the sound design of those pods. That and Jeepers Creepers' horn are the two most memorable horror sounds for me.

I watched this in theaters back when I was teenage and I loved Tom 😭. I don’t know how I will feel about it on a rewatch but I loved it then.
