I like that for once, the crew seems prepared and like pros. Previous seasons, they scrambled right up to the final showdown. I will say though, I wish they did things differently and kept Will on a need to know basis/on the outside. Forget the bubble wrap, he just can't be trusted, especially for the most important aspect, Hopper in the Upside Down. If memory serves, he's been Vecna's puppet each season except s4 when Vecna actually made his move. At the very least, they probably can't find Vecna because he is alerted by Will (unknowingly or not) where the crawls take place. Also, logically, Holly's "friend" is probably Vecna but in Henry's original form. Would also make sense why they can't find Vecna if he's already made it topside. I'm surprised Mike didn't just automatically assume that. And finally, can we please have Nancy and Steve back together? I want him to finally have a win plus her and Jonathan's romance seemed completely fizzled out last season. Steve has grown so much, meanwhile I don't see any growth in Jonathan.

Love that our group stood up to the jocks in the intro, when you're in grade 12 you will be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't hit puberty hard, the 4 of them can hold their own i predict, so you can see all of our guys aren't down for the bullshit.

It blows my mind that Mike dismisses Holly’s imaginary friend as nothing when he knows Vecna gets into people’s minds. I feel like he should be at least a little concerned. I think Dustin’s grief is interesting. Where Max internalized her grief and anger, he’s externalizing it. So neither of them have chosen to be open and honest with their friends.

I thought Mike was wonderful with Holly. I don’t think he was being dismissive, instead he was being encouraging and warm. He was a good brother to her in that scene.

Yes, he was being encouraging and warm, but dismissed the possibility that it could be Vecna. I feel like Mike would be more concerned that his sister’s new imaginary friend could be a Vecna move.

I have to know whether or not the Duffers were influenced at all by Harry and Voldemort with the connection they've built between Will and Vecna/the Upside Down. First of all, because Vecna is the terrifying Big Bad who doesn't have a nose but has unbelievable powers, and Will genuinely kinda looks like Radcliffe, and he and either Vecna or the Upside Down in general (I have to assume it's Vecna based on the opening scene? Haven't watched past the first episode yet) share a very similar psychic connection like Harry and Voldemort did. Like, at least subconsciously, that HAS to have been in their minds given it's more than a passing similarity.

Copied from your website in case you miss it there: A tape deck in a model like that would play that direction because the tape is put in upside down. And I looked up an actual AD&D 1st Edition Player's Handbook, Clerics indeed cannot cast Dimension Door as a feature of their class. BUT psionic powers exist and with the right ability scores, they could indeed have Dimension Door. Or, they could have messed up and gone with a more modern version, in 5E it is part of the Trickery Domain for clerics.
