This one was just mid, still entertaining, but the first one set the bar incredibly high.

50 minutes in & this movie is NOT GOOD. Omg they did a serious disservice to the first one 😂

I only watched this once years ago and didn't really remember much, only that Regina King was in it, and now watching it with the guys, I was trying to like it because it had Sandra Bullock and Regina King. And it kind of had the '05 humor/comedy but it did fall a little flat . And the plot, now that I'm looking back at it, the plot was Stan gambled a lot and got in trouble with some loan sharks so he and Cheryl get kidnapped. Uhhh, I don't know how I feel about that. 3.4/5

Much though I love your reactions, I'm not going to watch this one with you as I had a vague memory of this film being a dud, so I just jumped to your comments at the end. You confirmed exactly what I had thought; they had forgotten - or didn't understand - what made the original movie so good in the first place. They didn't understand the ingredients, probably the most important of which was Sandra's personality. Lose how charming that is, and the whole movie goes up in smoke. Now I'm just really excited waiting for Sherlock (the BBC version, yes?). If you don't like that, I'll lose all respect for you (jk, but I will be disappointed!)

Mate, I'm waiting like L from Death Note in anticipation for the guys Sherlock drop.

I had to stop about an hour in. The first was so funny. This was rough.

Not gonna lie, I wasn't a fan of this one at all. I'm a fan of bad movies, but the ones where they're so bad they're fun to laugh at, this movie wasn't even that at all, just a boring watch for me personally. Very few movies make me sleepy from watching them and this one did that, must've checked the time around 8 times waiting for this to end, could barely hold my attention. Think I'll just forget this one, didn't laugh nearly as much as the first but I did get a few laughs from this one and for that alone this is a 1/5 for me.

This one suffered similarly to Legally Blonde 2. Like Answer said, they were backed into a corner trying to come up with a completely new plot or career trajectory for Gracie, and instead it stripped away everything we love about her character/Sandra Bullock's charm. I've seen the first one so many times but doing this rewatch reminded me why I could barely remember this one. It was also a product of the early 2000s of needing to make sequels for everything.
