Thank you guys! Love Thrones Sundays! End of S1, let's go!!

Anthony Velasquez

Haven’t been watchin the reactions to Game of Thrones mainly because I seen it in its whole once and that was good for me but thought I just chime in a thought: The End of Season One is when I learned that this was going to be a show where bad things happen more than good things in this show I was shocked when it came to the fate of Ned Stark

Halima

Cersei and Robert both had a hand in creating the monster that is Joffrey. Cersei taught him the narcissism, and Robert taught him the violence.

Colton

"I grew up with soldiers, I learned how to die a long time ago" has to be one of my favorite quotes from the series.

Unholy Tater

The big finale! Looking forward to the reactions to these two.

Jeff K.

I'm 100% gonna be watching 1x9 just keeping an eye on Mason Quinn and Oak, seeing how much they side-eye Answer knowing what's coming at the end of that episode. (I mean, I'm making the assumption that Quinn remembers at least THAT part... which I'm keeping vague here in case anyone in the comments is watching GoT for the first time.)

enyo96

Yes Oak you are correct, Walder Frey is Filch from Harry Potter. His name is David Bradley, such a good actor.

Ashley S

Haven't watched this series since it first released, sooo much I forgot! Happy to rewatch it with you lovely gents.

Kiss the Librarian

*Edited to correct continuity errors, thanks to the response below Ok you motherfuckers who aren't listening (to quote Oak, lol, and this applies to me too, apparently), Ned wasn't calling the guy in black Baelor. Ned was being executed at The Sept of Baelor (basically a church named after King Baelor the blessed, a very religious king who was a predecessor to the noble hearted Prince Baelor in Knight of the Seven Kingdoms). Ned saw Arya kneeling under the statue of King Baelor, and realized she had a chance to survive since the Lannisters hadn't captured her yet. He had given up his honor to protect his children, but after Joffrey turned, Ned had little hope his daughters would be safe. Ned saw a Northman dressed all in black in the crowd, a man of the Night's Watch (the same guy who laughed over beer with Tyrion at the Wall, before they traveled south together, *and gave Ned important info earlier in the show). Ned was trying for a hail Mary by yelling at the guy, "Baelor," hoping he'd look at the statue of Baelor, find Arya and get her back home to safety. The night's watchman understood and went to protect her from seeing her father's death and from getting captured herself.

Unholy Tater

Ned does know the man and does know his name. His name is Yoren. Yoren is close with Ned's brother Benjen and is the one who delivered news to Ned about Caitlyn taking Tyrion prisoner. Otherwise, yes, Ned is signalling the statue. (Editing to add) It's precisely because Ned knows who he is that he trusts Yoren with getting to Arya. Yoren carried news of Tyrion's arrest directly to him and didn't sell that information to anyone (IE the Lannisters) along the way, so Ned trusts him!

Raymond Terry

The Answer's first episode 9 of a Game of Thrones series. Edit: Good reaction by Oak to what Answer said after Jaime failed to give the full reason for pushing Bran out the window.

Kiss the Librarian

Ah yes, forgot that Yoren met with Ned asking for men to go north. I knew someone would correct me, thank you. I was being tongue in cheek, but the guys were calling Yoren by the name Baelor, so I wanted to clarify that piece :)

Jack Warne

Quinn 100% thought the 2000 men got Jaime lol

Ellie

I'm loving Oak's facial expressions at the foreshadowing throughout the show. The wink during the preview when the guy said, "the dragons are dead" was priceless 😂 Another Oak side eye made me laugh, but I won't comment on it to avoid spoilers :) Great reactions!

Maisie

Agreed--and both taught him ruthlessness.

Maisie

There's rooting for the villain, and then there's rooting for a villain who just beat up a 13-year-old girl. Ick.

mdl

Still laughing at how you guys nicknamed him "Joffrey the Merciful" last week

GodhandJames

Justice for Jaehaerys II the forgotten king lol

Eboe Thrasher

I've never read the books so I don't know for sure but if you remember, Daemon and Rhaenyra send their youngest across the sea in HOTD with... three dragon eggs... (edit: Season 2, Episode 7 ) Those have to be the same eggs. I've never looked it up to see if it is the same eggs, but it has to be, how else did three dragon eggs cross the seas, to eventually find their way back to Daenerys? Especially since the children were headed to Pentos. Edit: looking online it seems like the showrunner Ryan Condal has basically insinuated that those are the same eggs, the director of the episode said "those are Dany's eggs" but the books have a slightly different canon apparently.

Eboe Thrasher

Did y'all talk about how Jorah Mormont is the son of Jeor Mormont, the leader of the Night's Watch? I didn't hear it mentioned, did anyone else hear them talk about it? We knew that Jorah had left the seven Kingdoms sue to slave trading but I don't think we knew that his father was at the wall from what he had previously said.

Marie RammGirl

'Joffers' (great nickname by the way let's hope it sticks hehe) certainly is the 'Power Mad King' this is where viewers start to REALLY despise him, Answer/Oak's "it's your guy" Quinn's "I know" evil plot pose was so amusing hehe 🤭 cool sword Jon Snow got, definitely more fitting since house Stark is of a Wolf. All of us (who've seen it) was patiently awaiting Answer's reaction to those 2 BIG moments with Ned & Daenerys, but was entertaining seeing all of your reactions aswell, yay for Quinn/Answer's aggressive/somber 'M'Lady' in both eps. 😊 The writers are showing the viewers that being honest, doing the right thing & having a pure heart gets you nowhere in the Hierarchy of Game Of Thrones, like the iconic line says "You either win, or you die".

Elena

I Hope you guys will watch game of thones history&Lore after each season aswell !

Just Lily

I hope you check out History & Lore for this season

bluehef

no matter how many times i watch i could never like joffrey

bluehef

walder frey a disgusting prick

Maisie

For sure. Still gave me the ick in the moment though.

Tara ✨💫

So, Answer wasn't surprised by what happened to Ned, but I remember how that episode and this show changed how people watched TV. I was asbolutely shocked and many, many others were as well. Ned was a the main character, his name was first billing in the credits and the show killed him off. People had never seen a main character be killed off like that. I thought that someone would come in and stop it at the very last moment like it happens on other shows when a main character is in danger. Knowing that anybody can die on this show adds a whole new level and makes it much more realistic.

Knightmare

I love Joffrey. Him and BJR from Outlander are my favorite TV villains bc they're just so insane 🤣

Gabby

Not black jack randall 😭 he’s in this show too I forget his name

Gabby

Watching it back knowing what’s coming is kinda fun like wtf *insert character name* you just had to stick to the plan

Just some feedback- don't have HBO Max in the UK and our copy doesn't have a previously on section, it would be great if you could unblur and announce when the intro is starting so that we can sync up more easily 👍

Alex

I remembered that Khal Drogo got sick but just not the details. I know what happens with a lot of the characters I just don't remember how. I don't get the certainty of the everyone before Joffrey black of hair - Joffrey golden hair thing. I mean I get the implication obviously, and Cersei confirmed it, but Cersei has blonde hair so if she had Joffrey with Robert, isn't there a 50/50 chance Joffrey would have blonde hair? Man Mason Quinn not remembering what happens with Drogo 😂 Did you even watch it before? lol. There's like 8 seasons lol.

Alex

Yeah, I know what ends up happening but I just don't remember how we get there, and some things in this episode had me thinking "wait, so how does this happen then?" and of course have to keep it vague to not spoil anything.

Djp
