I was not expecting this movie to be so good! I’d never even heard of it, but glad that I decided to check it out. I love that they had a redemption arc for Jerry. But my favorite part was hearing Answer’s random crazy laugh and the boys’ reaction to it! That had me crying laughing!

This one was so much fun! I went in completely blind, needing something with a little levity after Good Will Hunting, and this certainly fit the bill. Any movie that features some Bikini Kill in the beginning is bound to be a great watch. The animation was beautiful, and I loved the message. Look, I've spent almost my entire life in central Oklahoma, and while we have some crazy weather and magnificent sunrises/sunsets, she ain't much to look at. Luckily, I was blessed with parents who liked to drive around the US visiting national parks and that's how we spent our summers. Oklahoma's red dirt might forever stain my skin, but I'm never more myself than when I have my feet in a stream with mountains at my back. Seeing this film after Artemis II has returned from its mission is just a beautiful reminder that we're all one crew.

I honestly regret not seeing this movie in theaters! I kept seeing posters about it but I thought eh it’s a kids movie not really my thing anymore. This is my first time watching it along with yall and it honestly was a really cute movie! I loved their originality and the fact that the main characters were complex enough to see each others rights and wrongs and I loved how it ended! Love Oaks reaction to this lmao 😭

Oh boy. The visuals are fine. But I'm strongly opinionated when it comes to politics and from that angle this movie was shite 😭 I just checked the low reviews of Letterboxd to see if others felt the same way and indeed, the recurring thing in negative reviews are that the plot is centrist nonsense, which is the exact feeling I got. Everyone here enjoyed it so I won't detail more but if you look for negative reviews you'll see explanations as to why some of us dislike the actual political message here (beyond the surface the movie is not pro environmental protection, it's pro status quo).

It’s such a pretty name. Definitely underrated. Besides Mabel in Hoppers, another Mabel is in the show Only Murders In The Building (which I hope the guys do someday)

In theory I'm okay with that but here I think it's a bit more pernicious than that, I think the movie is purposely making kids believe something that is simply not true and that is designed to keep people compliant ("let's be friends with the ruling elite and they will make the right decisions"), the movie is also telling kids "let's defend nature but not too much, animals kill each other anyway so it's totally fine if you kill them too" (the unnecessary scenes about pond rules, killing the insect queen). I understand most people just took it as an amusing story with cute visuals but I don't think it's that innocent.

Yea we've never heard a laugh like that from Answer before over the Seagulls Shark Scene 🤣 the looks on Quinn/Oak faces there too haha, also liked all of you doing the cheering motion when they were chanting "Squish" & speaking of squishing, the reactions & looks on your faces when Mabel accidently squished the butterfly was gold! hehe & liked Quinn's wit of "Joffrey The Butterfly" haha 😂 when you hear the final words of Grandma, you realise why Mabel so passionate about saving the Glade, that a touching moment between Mabel/George was a nice way to end it on & you're right guys, it is so refreshing & relaxing to go out into nature & just enjoy it & switch off the noisy busy side of life for a while. ❤️ (also yay for Randy Orton poses when "Apex Predator" was mentioned hehe)
