Oh, they for sure gonna be uncomfortable, lol. The show is defintely controversial, but also hits some tough subjects well and has beautiful cinematography. But yeah, the director is a perv and it shows. Overall though i enjoy it

Yea I actually loved S1 and it’s a beautifully shot show but it has disturbing themes and the creator/writer/director is a weirdo

@Alanna imo, even though the plot and writing gets crazy and complex later on (which is why people like the first seasons better), it’s still a fun show to watch bc of the characters and atmosphere. I don’t think it’s the best show ever but I enjoy it for those reasons and it has good moments, so I’d prefer it to Euphoria. I think Euphoria is too provocative for no reason

Yea i never watched Euphoria. From everything i saw and heard about it,it just sounded like another remake/ripoff of the old british teen drama show called "Skins". Which was a very gritty and mature look at the life of the more risque,and troubled teens. Which the US then made their own version of the show years later. The orginal british version is actually really damn good and worth a watch in my opinion,but the US remake is garbage. So Euphoria just always seemed like it was another one of those shows trying to catch the same vibe of Skins. But i dont like Zendeya as an actress anyway so i was never interested

Wanted to let you guys know some cool info about Lennie James! I know you guys arent the biggest gamers (other than Answer), but Lennie James is actually starring in the new James Bond video game,which just released today.He plays a fairly large role so far,im only a few hours into the game so not sure how long he is actually in it,but he got a full mocap performance and everything. He looks great and sounds great! Also,Lennie Kravitz is also in the game and he plays the big villian. Id highly recommend the game as well,its made by the company behind the "Hitman" franchise,so its extremely top quality and well made. But man,its such a trip seeing Lennie James in a video game lol

They did Rings of Power season 1 and disliked it so much that they didn't watch season 2 which was already out at that time. I love RoP personally, but they also watch a lot of stuff I don't like and that's OK.

Funny, I think there is plenty of substance in Euphoria. The creator made Roux as a self-insert, so a lot of the crap she goes through is stuff he went through. Idk I like it cause I still remember what it was like to be young and silly. So it is fun to watch what they get into, especially in the new season as out of school mini-adults flailing wildly in the world. Reminds me of my baby bird days. Though I never did any of the crap they get up to... But I think it is a extremely well made and written show and I think Zendaya is an amazing actress, personally. She pulls this role off expertly, as well as most everything else she touches. And the aesthetic design and cinematography reminds me of a director I love, Gregg Araki.

It is funny, everyone complaining about Euphoria when y'all have got them watching kid material all the time. Sometimes I wonder if this is meant to show your kids or something. But it makes me laugh to see all the morality declarations in regards to Euphoria. Do you think kids haven't always done stuff like that? It is called realism. Maybe I should suggest the movie Kids cause I'm sure y'all would love that one

@Rebecca B1 do you not think that teenagers deserve to have their stories told? And do you not find them compelling, comparing what others are going through to what you went through? Or perhaps just watching the struggles someone endures? Adolescence was about a young boy and tons of people watched that, is it because it is romantic? Movies like Fault in our Stars are hugely popular. Plenty of adults went to see the Harry Potter movies, and those are very child-like.

This is being a tad disingenuous, none of the films or series you listed have such extreme, explicit sexual content. They could have shone a light on "teenhood" without the pretty vivid imagery. Harry potter captured the awkward teen life and romance well and was in no way comparable to Euphoria. Dont believe I ever saw a penis in Fault of our Stars and it was a true romance film. Adolescence centers around a child who is a suspect. Saying "child-like" about HP isn't really accurate maybe 1 and 2. Approaching from the standpoint of "do you not think" is a little manipulative. Ofcourse they do, but does it have to be executed in such a manner?

I'm just speaking from personal taste here. Ofc that doesn’t mean I think teenagers don’t deserve to have their stories told. That’s a pretty weird shortcut to make lol I actually love romance, it’s probably my favorite genre. I just need to really believe in the love story and the chemistry between the characters, and for me they felt way too young in season 1 for that to work. And honestly, I don’t think Harry Potter is the best comparison. Those movies come with an entire world and backstory so it’s not really the same thing at all.
