J

Y'all are gonna watch my favorite footballer Uzair Baloch in all his glory finally😭

J

Ranveer Singh lost and gained like 35 kgs for playing his flashback parts & his parts as Hamza

J

Also all the characters and stuff are based on real people and the events that unfold due to characters, the way they die etc are also exactly what happened irl. The only thing altered a bit is the timeline of things

TAN

You guys should check out URI.

J

They are not actually saying mild words like "dimwit" or "fool". The swear words are not translated in the Netflix subtitles.

Aria Isara

I stopped getting notifications from Patreon for some reason, had no idea this dropped!!

Jasleen Kaur

It was a wonderful surprise. I am glad you guys enjoyed it.

No DD for this reaction🥲; well answering some of the doubts raised; 1. The subtitles on netflix heavily censor the profanity being used... so when the subtitles say ( Idiot, fool, rascal, dimwit, dipshit) the actual dialogue was way more vulgar and aggressive.... 2. Majority of the villains and gangsters you saw are heavily based on actual real life figures and matching names, despite some fictional elements mixed for the plot. 3. The Crores system: you would have noticed the word crores being thrown here and there quite often so basically 1 Crore i.e 10 million rupees translates to $100k; so 11,000 crores would be USD 1.15 Billion and 66,000 crores was about USD 6.9 Billion... Glad you guys enjoyed the movie obvi separating the political pov and not feeling the 4hrs runtime like most of us did back in march at the theatres where time just flew by. Hoping to see more of Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor's movies by the end of the year...❤️

But still India Pakistan play cricket but in indian premium league Pakistani player band

Guys did you forget all of the first movie haha. Starting with how it was Hamza that killed Rehman. And he had SP & Jameel on his side to do so. He tactfully put the blame on Arshad Pappu using his own fellow indian agent Rizwan who was in Arshad Pappu's gang. He did this so he could take out 2 birds with one stone & take over as king of Lyari (made Uzair take out Arshad Pappu the opponent since he knew Uzair acts on emotions all he had to do was instigate him & then record Uzair killing him, to send Uzair abroad). Also not you saying that "they sprung it on you" when Yalina (his wife) showed up pregnant. He used her to get in the big leagues since her father Jameel Jamali was a politician he needed to use for his benefit. He did start loving her though in the 2nd half of the first movie, but had to always in his mind keep trying to never let those feelings surface as he knew he was a spy & might not be forever. However in the end of this movie he openly confesses his love to her for the first & last time, risking everything a sweet mistake "Do you want to know my real name?" 😭💕 Also the shivers that Dawood Ibrahim scene sent down everyone's spine is impossible to explain to a foreign audience. He was a gangster king from Mumbai. Mumbai is where bollywood is based so the kind of threats the film industry used to get from him & the underworld before they were eradicated in the 1990's was insane. Top actors, directors etc were shit scared of him & were forced to "be cool" with him, if not big producers, directors, actors would get shot & some even died. So the fact that bollywood finally made a movie showing his character is extremely ballsy.

Lucy Hale from PLL?! 😂 I’m a huge fan

Abt the firing rounds in the climax part between Major Iqbal and Hamza; in Dhurandhar Part 1 they justified couple of firearm's high capacity during the scene where Uzair takes Hamza to their illegal weapons workshop. Uzair explains to Hamza their underground facility with modified and custom firearms. These modifications alter the internal firing mechanisms and use extended/custom welded magazines allowing a rapid burst of 30 rounds continuously without jamming.....

The guys completely forgot the first part haha. So did I. The subtitles were trash, completely watered the explicit dialogue. Was it too long? Fuck yes. Did I feel it? Yes. Was most of it enjoyable? ...yes Best part of it was the main lead's performance. He kept this overly dramatic, heavy handed direction and dialogue somewhat grounded. Soundtrack complimented the film well. Action was decent in parts. 3 Answers

Unfortunately they did and it actually made this reaction underwhelming. Did not enjoy this like other reactions on this channel.

Just to give you more info (unrelated to Dhurandhar) after the last livestream where it was mentioned some people complained about "too much Bollywood" and DD said you guys are just following the recommendations: there are over 500 million Hindi speakers, it's the most spoken language in India so there will always be more recs/upvotes for Bollywood. Telugu has 80 million speakers, Tamil 70 million, Kannada over 40 million, Malayalam 35 million. If they get fewer upvotes it doesn't mean these industry aren't popular. Some non Hindi movies have become hits in the Hindi regions (like KGF or Baahubali, or Aavesham which you haven't watched yet...) but even those that didn't cross regional borders can be popular and worthy of a reaction. Since you haven't reacted to Malayalam movies yet you have very few Malayalam speaking subscribers. Hence why even a Malayalam hit like Thallumaala (once of the highest grossers in 2022) has very few upvotes on the website, even though it got over 300k views on Cinedesi. So hopefully you give a chance to the Malayalam movies on the recommendation page 😊

Ok I finally watched this 😅 I enjoyed it overall but I don't think it's as good as the 1st one. The first hour apart from the flashback nothing happens, Ranveer is basically just aura farming 😅 Also even though I didn't have issues with politics in the 1st one, in this 2nd part there were uncomfortable moments that I felt really crossed into jingoism. The part where he tells his wife he doesn't want to destroy her country, just kill terrorists, felt very performative like the writer/director put that line in there to "prove" the movie is not jingoistic but apart from the wife we have not seen 1 normal Pakistani person in this movie. Only corrupted people who support terrorism and are in gangs. I think there is a difference between a cathartic movie about killing terrorists (nothing wrong with it) and a movie that could encourage violence towards a whole other country. And this movie is dangerously close to the latter. (Before someone says something, I'm not defending Pakistan, I'm well aware the country is problematic) Anyway, apart from that, I want to add I love how much you guys appreciate Sanjay Dutt. He is one of my fav actors. These days he plays a lot villains but je is also known for romances, dramas and comedies. MBBS Munnabhai is an iconic Hindi comedy where he shares the screen with his real life dad also playing his dad in the movie. But before considering watching it you really really have to watch his biopic Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor plays his role and it's by the director of PK and 3 Idiots. The movie shows among other things his complicated relationship with his dad and the shooting of Munnabhai, so that movie would hit harder if you see the biopic before. You cannot imagine the wild life he's had. Ironically he has been *indirectly* involved in the massive 1993 terrorist attacks and went to prison for this. And these attacks were done by famous mobster Dawood Ibrahim that you see portrayed in Dhurandhar 2 as the sick guy who got poisoned. The 90s were wild and various mobsters were often using movie production to launder money, and were also sometimes extorting money from celebrities. The founder of T series (you probably heard the name) got shot dead as he was leaving the temple because he refused to pay. There are many more crazy stories. Hrithik Roshan's dad (Hrithik played the trader in ZNMD) also got shot but survived. The Mumbai police did a huge crack down on mobsters in the late 90s and a group of cops basically decided to kill them directly instead of arresting them, to the point where the whole mafia moved from Mumbai to Delhi lol. There is a documentary on Netflix on these cops, where some of them are interviewed. It's called Mumbai Mafia: Police VS The Underworld. Very good watch. It's funny to see that now Bollywood portrays these gangsters like that 😅 Also as MQ mentioned yep Uri The Surgical Strike is the director's previous movie and it's a really good one (that got accused of jingoism by some people but it didn't feel that way to me)
