Thank you guys for always treating the really disturbing, heavy moments with sensitivity (referring to Sansa here). I do wish they had focused more on her pain in that moment than Theon’s, but I totally get how disturbing that would be to witness.

I like that MQ pointed out the guy Daenerys burned alive was just a random head of a household, and they didn't know if he did anything against them. So we can't say that he was fucking around, but he definitely found something out. The Sons of the Harpy are already motivated to dethrone Daenerys, so her act of terror could just work in their favor by persuading new people to join them. She used cruel and unusual punishment to scare people blindly, so she seems like an unhinged, dangerous replacement of the previous rulers. Which would attract both good and bad people to unite against her. And they aren't attacking her openly because they know she has more military strength - she didn't need to prove she's strong. All she proved is she's scared and doesn't know who her enemies are. I like Daenerys, but I don't think other heroes, like Jon or Brienne or Sansa or Arya or Tyrion, would kill indiscriminately just to scare a hidden enemy. So far they've argued strongly against doing things like that. Arya is excessively focused on revenge though, which is heartbreaking seeing her lose the child she was so early. Meanwhile, Daenerys keeps talking about trying to find the most effective way to rule, but she struggles to decide between inspiring love or fear. All to serve her main goal, which is to take back a throne from her most recent ancestors, even though she currently has a throne that was part of her ancestors' original home land. They even speak her mother language there. But she's obsessed with revenge or taking back something that was stolen, even though her ancestors were the original thieves when they crossed the sea to conquer Westeros. I get that she thinks of Westeros as home, but that doesn't mean she, or anyone, "deserves" to rule it by default. I love the way the show displays the power struggles without spoon feeding you. It's very clear where each character's priorities are focused, even if they don't realize how lopsided they are. Jon definitely sees the bigger picture, but he's constantly learning that you can't win an honorable fight with a dishonorable person.

Talking about the last episode where ya'll talk about what happend to Sansa and it being fictional, i always look at it from a point of (it may be fictional but for someone in the word this is reality) heavy topics such as this need a warning at the start, but i think it's still an important topic, fictional or otherwise, because this is reality for some people, who are actually going trough a simmilar thing in the real world.

I think people are way too harsh on Tommen. He’s basically a child who was never raised to be king, suddenly thrown onto the throne and surrounded by experienced adults manipulating him. Cersei is also the one who gave the Faith Militant their power in the first place. Tommen clearly wants to help Margaery, but ordering his guards to attack the Faith could mean killing civilians and putting her in even more danger. His problem isn’t that he doesn’t care, it’s that he’s young, inexperienced, and compassionate in a world where everyone around him knows how to use that against him.

The huge smile that spread across my face hearing Quinn had the F1 Theme as his ringtone ^_^ (hope Oak able to fix it for him) great choice! its on my phone music list too, but I have a certain Bon Jovi song as my ringtone hehe \m/ also had a cheeky giggle over all of your reactions to the words "Shagged/Buggery" (I'm sure you're familiar with the definitions & just found them amusing) 🤭 also had cheeky chuckle over Quinn's "It Takes Time To Pull Big Sword Out The Sword Sheath" 😈 "Kill The Boy, Let The Man Be Born" powerful words said by Aemond in a symbolic way about Jon Snow's leadership decisions as Lord Commander. You could say things are looking Bleak/Grey for Jorah there. Olenna/Cersei's back & forth cat scratch dialogue at each other was gold! but Cersei is in danger of getting burnt playing with fire like this, not only with House Tyrell, but giving The Sparrows so much power too, the guys make a valid point what happens when Cersei is no longer needed by them?. Poor Tommen in such a difficult spot, thrust on to the throne, surrounded by his Mother poisoning him with her influence & too much of a compassionate heart to take action/make tough decisions, him & Joffrey are complete opposites when it comes to ruling & they doing a good job of portraying how having too kind of heart can be just as damaging as a heartless one. The look shared between Sansa/Theon when they first meet again, complete Contempt by Sansa & deep Guilt/Shame by Theon, after the 3 people Sansa was promised marriage to, Ramsay is the worst by far, after that despicable display of treatment towards her & even more twisted evil forcing Theon to watch, we share those looks of utter disgust on your faces watching too.

Tywin was right about Tommen in that he is a boy king easily influenced. What’s that saying? Power doesn’t change you but simply reveals who you are? We see it with him - he’s indecisive and in this political climate, bound to get run over by the players around him. Also thank you for taking a moment to absorb what happened to Sansa. I had so many issues with the showrunners with the choice they made re: this plot line and her character arc.

I've been a long time fan of GoT, but I've got some serious issues with the ending of 5x6. Don't get me wrong, the raw and graphic nature of the show is one its biggest draws! But this felt like gratuitous torture to regain a bit of the old seasons' shock value. That said, I appreciate the sensitivity ya'll showed to such a disturbing scene.

I'm Batman

Yeah, I can't watch that last bit. Anytime I watch a reaction to this episode I always mute that part. Season 5 has 2 of the worse scenes in this series in my opinion, the Sansa scene is 1 of them.

Mel

I love this show so much!

Kiss the Librarian

Agree, and that scene wasn't in the books so it was added for some reason by the showrunners. It makes sense for Ramsey to do something like that, and the strategy of securing power over the North through an heir makes sense. But it doesn't make any sense for Sansa to have agreed to be married off to a Bolton with barely more than a conversation with Littlefinger and a weird kiss from him after. Her motivation to return home wasn't enough, and she had supportive friends at the Vale. It would have been more rational for her to stay there. Instead, she is moved mindlessly into Ramsey's hands as a reason for future things that are spoilery and shall not be described further. And considering the way those spoilery things happen, the abuse doesn't change the spoilery things' spoilery outcome. So the abuse didn't need to happen for the spoilery thing to happen. I absolutely love the books. Haven't found any to beat them, and doubt they'll ever be finished. The show leans more heavily into boobs and raping women than the books did. Early years HBO type BS.

Kiss the Librarian

In the show he's 13 or 14 when crowned, only 8 or 9 at that point in the books. Both very naive, vulnerable ages. He did have soldiers and The Mountain at his command, though, and I think a boy would still argue about keeping the wife he cared for if she was arrested by religious fanatics. He's probably afraid of his mom and confused by her reassuring command that he let Margaery be taken. I empathize with him but also am not impressed with him.

Interesting detail that Missandei was the person Daenerys spoke with last, before burning the random guy, when Daeny wasn't sure how to handle her situation. Missandei is humble about offering any advice at first, then basically encourages Daenerys to act on her own instincts rather than listen to conflicting advisors. Daeny then goes and burns the random guy.
