Glad yall watched this i think its a really good film many people don't know about or have missed over the years. Man I gotta say the scene where they are standing on the bottles is so damn funny lol they’re finally old and using older sounding voices and just yeah so funny i bet they had so much fun filming that lol but yeah this movie is definitely a dramedy it almost reminds me of Jojo rabbit now that I’ve seen that how the comedy kind of just masks the reality of it all. It’s a very layered film and the older i get the more I appreciate it. Thank you guys again as always this was great.

I’m surprised none of you have seen this. Makes me wonder if any of you seen Boomerang

Victoria

It is so cute that Martin Lawrence’s daughter and Eddie Murphy’s son are now married so you can only imagine how holidays go

Jane

Since you’re probably gonna react to the Odyssey (once it’s available on platforms) I wanted to petition for you guys to react to Troy (2004) first, personally I like it more than the Odyssey, but I’m saying it because they are technically connected (one is a continuation of the other) so I think it’s a good idea so that you can have the story clear and in chronological in your heads. Troy is not super canonical with the original story but I really want to see your reaction to it. Btw, if you do react to it make sure it's the director's cut.

Oh wow. We didn't know that. That's awesome 🤣 family get togethers must be wild!

I'm Batman

Never saw this movie. Looking forward to it.

I'm Batman

If I could recommend some movies I'd suggest checking these out Lockdown 42 Baby Boy Fences Hustle & Flow CB4 Ali Just adding a few more titles to Ron's list that I think y'all might enjoy

Money-Kate Olsen

Incomplete list without Color Purple and Lean on Me.

Ron B.

Welp…looks like you just added it.

Sarah

Not me thinking this was the sci-fi horror movie Life with Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds, and a ton others. I was so excited lol

Sarah

Me too! I was actually super stoked. Haha This is probably a good movie also but have never seen it!

Precious Dillard

I was waiting for this movie reaction all day. 😊

Anthony Velasquez

Love this movie I’m glad you finally got around to watching it Eddie and Martin as a duo in this movie was so damn good I can always throw on this movie and I never get tired of it so much rewatchability with this film

Leisha

and you click recommendations tab, search a movie/show to make sure it hasn't already been recommended and if it hasn't it will allow you to put in a new one

ct

Forgot to add the Why did I get married series and Diary of an angry black woman!! Def black classics

I'm Batman

Oh, I know. I was just tossing some names because I'm already maxed out for this month. A few of them are already on the website that I know of.

Knightmare

Basically everything they watched on CinePals is good

Knightmare

As someone who lives in Mississippi, I really hate when movies use Parchman as a backdrop for their movie 😂 especially when its for comedy. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive, but the place is still up and running and we literally hear bad news about it ALL THE TIME. Like it's not some historical mythological place, it's still there and crazy as hell 🤦 Movie was good tho

Layla

Please please watch Major Payne if you haven’t yet! 🪖 😆

Halima

I had no idea they were reacting to this! I love this movie, so funny yet gut wrenching at times

MeloTaughtMe

loved this movie growing up ik yall will too

Anthony Velasquez

I would love them to react to The Temptations such a great movie/mini series probably have to split in two parts since its really long but its worth the reaction plus the guy who played Willie Long in Life plays Barry Gordy in Temptations

I'm Batman

God, what a movie. This might be my favorite movie that Eddies done out of the stuff I've seen him in. Haven't seen many movies that Martin has been in, the first Bad Boys, Wild Hogs, and Big Momma's House but this is also my favorite I've seen him in. And even though there's a lot of comedy in here there's some heavy stuff in here that you can actually feel something serious and I absolutely love that. Say what y'all want but this is definitely a 5/5 movie for me.

Dana Sow

I would also add Fences with Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. 2 legendary performances by both of them.

Mister Lou

The final blooper "shit, this ain't my Daddy's watch!" Has me rolling EVERY time! 😂😂😂 Or when Eddie's pissed off his comedy is next level! "Don't even say "watch" to me say "little clock" or some shit!" "What you swelling up for?... why you taking all this air in?/ ... I'll spell it for you "s-o-f-capital T! ... sofTuh-Tuh!"

Crystal

One thing I think you guys kinda missed is that Biscuit was gay. That’s why he felt so hopeless about getting out of prison. Like yes he’s used to prison life, but the real issue was he could be himself there and not have to worry about being hurt or judged. That’s why Jangle Leg (Bernie Mac character) was allowed to walk to him without being shot, because he was also gay and they had that comraderie. Ray was trying to tell Biscuit, oh it’s 1945 things have changed, but Biscuit knew like if he gets out he can’t be himself anymore. It’s really crazy how many lives were stolen from people during Jim Crow to supply workers for slavery 2.0. Many of which literally did nothing wrong. So I really appreciate Life bringing some comedy to the fucked up reality of history, because one thing black people are going to do is at least figure out how to crack a joke to get through ya know. Love that about us.

Michael

This is a must! So many good moments in that movie and it’s wholesome.

LesNV

I would like to add Bommerang and Harlem Nights

LesNV

Imagine having Eddie and Martin as your grandads, couldn't nobody tell me nothing

LesNV

It didn't do well at the box office bc what little promotion it did have made it seem like it was going to be slap stick comedy, but the over all theme is very heavy. The critics dogged it saying that the premise of the movie was unrealistic/unrelatable. Soon as it went to video though, it became a cult classic. You'll be hard pressed to find any black household where this movie isn't a staple.

Miss Freaky

You don't rent Eddie Murphy, you buy Eddie Murphy!! 😝 lol jk - guys, this is one of my favs. This movie is pure comedy. Y'all remember, that's life - crap that's out of your control - its how you choose to deal with it. I think that's the point, in my opinion. The bloopers are the best - I wish they had more. Super happy you watched! Please react to the Beverly Hills Cop movies, even ifs a rewatch for y'all. Boom Boom my dudes1

David Eubanks

This is a great movie hits in every way

Keshonna Laniece

Not really nostalgic black but I’ve been wanting them to watch The Six Triple Eight so badddd! Let’s add that!

Vonnie Stewart

one of my fave movies and 2nd fave eddie movie after dreamgirls which yall so awesomely reacted to haha. set it off with Queen Latifah next please!

Tania R

I’ve loved Eddie Murphy for donkey’s years, but somehow never knew this one. I went in expecting something light, but once I realised where it was going, of course there were going to be some pretty horrendous layers underneath it all. Really glad I finally got to see this one. Loved the outtakes.

random guy 317

I love rewatching these movies with yall and going down memory lane

mdl

I remember seeing commercials for it as a kid and thinking it was gonna be like The Nutty Professor instead of something that would hit you straight in the heart. The third act of this movie messed me up emotionally... all that time lost and stolen.

Matthew Glover

The movie "ATL",starring TI (Tip Harris) is pretty damn good too. Some good real life lessons and just a good hood type movie if youre into that stuff. Lot of family stuff and about youth violence/gang life a bit. But my main movie i want them to see it "You Got Served". I know Oak has seen it and loves it,but i really wish the whole crew would react to it!!

LesNV

Yeah, I was a kid when these movies came out, so I really remember my parents and like aunts and uncles discussing it

Lamby

So Mason the big question is what was the final n word count for dave 😂

Marie RammGirl

Eddie Murphy/Martin Laurence on screen chemistry was gold! Movie did a good mix of Comedic Dialogue (way he says "Claude" after a shot of whisky with the Girl / "I The Pappy" & your reactions to it was great) & Heartfelt/Heavy moments (like the Inmates fading away/what happened to Biscuit) agree Gibson describing his Nightclub & imagining roles for all the others was one of the best scenes, a nice moment of them all together having some fantasy fun in a bleak situation, glad we got some Levity with the outtakes at the end to a bittersweet movie & a somewhat happy ending too. (for Quinn Beverly Hills Cop 3 is the 'Gladiator 2' of Trilogy, BHC 2 is still the best.)

Leisha

this is my first time watching this movie with yall and now im aware ive been missing out, Great movie and reaction!
