Look, I love My Hero, but i am worried about the fan-service for them. Who knows, they might love it which I am all for, but seeing how they reacted to brief anime fan-service in the past, I just hope it’s not a turn off for them. (Especially Mineta)

What a great list seen all but vinland saga but ive only heard great things. My favourite is hxh seen that least 3 times all the way through, mha is great to though ive only seen it all once. I watched solo this spring since ive been on a big anime kick since march and i cant wait for next season.

Just as I figured. Guess Solo Leveling will happen in the next 2 animes since Solo Leveling needs to be in dub (sorry I just feel the dub is just as good if not better than the sub). Maybe after MHA is over with (clearly it's gonna win) we will get Chainsaw Man as the next anime, then go into Solo Leveling.

The ending is phenomenal of course, but they'd be watching the exact same anime for over a year... Must be tough being a fan of other anime

Oh…my…goodness…Badd Medicine may watch My Hero?! Heck yeah! I am incredibly biased but MHA is some the best story and character development I have seen in “recent” anime. I watched when it aired and the day it finished and could hardly believe it was the same show. Also have watched both dub and sub many times, it’s hard to go wrong with either. Dub is my favorite though because Justin Briner and Clifford Chapin are literally the best. Along with Chris Sabat and J Michael Tatum. Gah! I could gush forever! If you watch, I hope y’all enjoy the ride that is MHA 💙🤍❤️💛

The main character has very little personality beyond being strong, and most of the supporting cast feels like they only exist to admire him or highlight how powerful he is. His character development is minimal compared to the amount of time spent watching him level up. The story follows a very repetitive formula and rarely takes meaningful risks with its plot, characters, or world. While the action and visuals are entertaining, I don't think it's a particularly well-written story overall..

The good thing about MHA is that it's completely finished With bad luck, Vinland Saga seasons 3 and 4 might never even come out-nobody really knows Solo Leveling is completely mediocre at best, aside from the visuals, and H×H is genuinely one of the best anime of all time Also (probably never) getting finished, though the anime at least got a well-rounded, cohesive open ending So MHA gets my vote By the way, I think the guys would find Golden Kamuy absolutely hilarious Muscular men, crude humor, super interesting characters, and a thrilling story with tons of plot twists

I think Diamond Dave should just watch the trailers for the shows and decide for himself whether the dub sounds good enough—or even better for the three guys—than the sub. All Might’s Japanese voice actor is an absolute icon and nobody can hold a candle to him. Especially since he has the absolute best moments in the entire series.

Fair points on Solo Leveling honestly! My issue with MHA is that it’s basically Naruto’s skeleton with a cape on it outcast kid born without the thing everyone else has, gets it gifted to him by a legendary mentor figure, enrolls in the school where kids get sorted into squads by a proctor, and immediately gets a brooding rival with a superiority complex and a tragic family. Even the structure is the same tournament arc, then war arc, then the rival’s redemption. The difference is Naruto let its world get genuinely dark and let characters actually lose, while MHA keeps snapping back to ‘PLUS ULTRA’ and a shonen yell every time it gets close to real stakes. It’s a fine show, but it’s playing a game Naruto already finished.

Honestly, I'm disappointed that they don't consider what the comments are saying about specific anime's whose dubs are not good, while others that are. It feels like they are alienating a core group of us who genuinely care. There should be polls, yes, but also the creators should consider what their audience is saying. It's frustrating. Where is the dialogue? Also, respectfully those who don't mind all dubs(can tolerate it) are really lacking empathy/consideration for those who genuinely can't tolerate specific dubs. It's not us being "annoying" etc. we genuinely can't enjoy watching certain ones. I've tried with their Demon Slayer reactions multiple times and I just could not do it.

as an avid fan,that’s the one critique i do have 😭 but it’s so hard to find good animes nowadays that have 0% perv in it. if they do end up watching it,i just hope it doesn’t sway their view too much. the story overall was great in my opinion…there are just some characters we could have done without.

With the addition to having 3 episodes a week it's not as time consuming to have MHA even though it'll take a little over a year to get through. As long as I know they'll be watching Vinland and Hunter in the future the outcome of this poll doesn't matter as much to me. Even Solo Levelling is a short 25 episodes so it's honestly whatever.

I remember them having a reaction to a few of the jokes/scenes in Your Name! I just know this show will make them uncomfortable. With them being so new to anime and being fathers of young kids too! I stopped watching my hero and alot of other animes as the fan service really got to me, it's just so gross. I think similar to JJK & AOT they need to stick to anime with smaller amounts of fan service, where the action and story really distract from those bits.

Saying use your brain please when I was asking a genuine and harmless question does come off a bit rude. In any case, those characters still have loud booming personas in the original Japanese audio? They do it better imo and there’s many other characters in the main cast with unbearable voices and acting in the English dub so I disagree. I believe they would prefer the sub considering those wrestler type loud personalities are still there and the voice lines in general are of a much higher standard

i mean…i haven’t seen it in a while but i will say it was worse along the earlier seasons. in my opinion there is so much action later that the little weird jokes get lost in the plot. i feel like most fan service got lost along season 3 but i may be forgetting something. i get how it can make the experience less enjoyable though.

Ana, i always respect your thoughts on here, but the difference with Demon Slayer fanservice and MHA fanservice is insane haha. Compared to any other anime they've watched, the fanservice in this is on another level. I still love MHA, and im looking forward to their reactions... and im sure they'll love it a lot. But i already know some of those fanservice scenes are gonna have them feeling weird. But as I said, I still think they're gonna love it overall.

i’m a newer subscriber to the guys and i have been seeing a lot of comments on this matter so i hope you don’t mind me asking you this! i have never seen AOT or jjk so i am not sure how bad the fan service is in those,i haven’t seen demon slayer either😭 i know mha has bad fan service in the first few seasons and of course due to their character ages it could make most people uncomfortable but do you think it is bad enough where they wouldn’t enjoy the show at all/stop reacting to it later on? i usually just skip those parts when watching myself. how bad is the fan service in the other animes they’ve done so far?

If I really like a show I'll watch both sub and dub to see (or rather hear) the different acting performances and I've done that for almost all of these shows lol. Just a personal habit but I like it. But knowing Vinland is still on the list makes me happy either way. I can't wait for those discussions whenever they happen!

I know that dub is easier for you, but MHA dub isn't great. Not unendurable, though. Solo Leveling, on the other hand, is great in dub. If/when you get round to HxH, sub is ESSENTIAL. Western voices cannot do pre-pubescent boys.

HxH is, however, older, and Western voices cannot do pre-pubescent boys, so Gon and Killua sound just awful. Also, Hisoka in the sub is far more subtle than the dub.

The problem is we're cherry-picking right now, because when we say, "compared to other shows", we’re knowingly and basically only including anime with the "ecchi" tag. If you’ve seen all their anime reactions, none they have watched so far will have such a large emphasis on perversion and sexual innuendos as jokes. Compared to other shows in mind, sure, it's tamer. Compared to what they have seen so far? This is like jumping from Romeo and Juliet to 50 shades of gray🤣. I am ALL IN for them watching the show; I am just concerned about how comfortable they might not be knowing these guys. Remember, these are Fathers with kids. Even I myself, nearing my 30s, get turned off by over-the-top fan service, as with shows like My Hero. Maybe I am over complicating it for them, but I have seen the show, it’s not subtle. I just worry we are going to force them to watch something that might make them uncomfortable. Not a complaint, just a worry so please don’t twist or overreact.

this is just my personal opinion but i feel like this is a little bit dramatic,especially to say “you’re basically only including anime with the ecchi tag”? i feel like that is just objectively not true. if people ever want them to get to classic anime like naruto,one piece or even my favorite haikyu,they are going to have to deal with some amount of fan service. plenty of popular non ecchi shows such as fire force and even recently dan da dan,even the older shows like seven deadly sins have excessive fan service a lot of the time. i understand why people get uncomfortable,i too feel super uncomfortable at times but they’ll end up missing out on a lot of the popular animes if they are strictly no fan service. i hope they can just learn to ignore it like most people do. plenty of fathers like mha and i am sure plenty of dads don’t. i can only really think of two characters who are fan service heavy and i’ve never considered them to be main characters😭 comparing it to 50 shades of gray is absolutely wild.

Well that’s my thing let’s drop the anime “tags” and objectively look at only the shows they have seen so far. With that, I just can’t see them feeling comfortable. Remember the simple bathing scene in Demon Slayer with Kanroji and the repeated “body switch” scenes from Your Name? I just have a feeling THIS show. Now I need to make it clear I am all in for them giving this show a shot, I am just hesitant on how they’re gonna feel when (and you know) sexual jokes come up repeatedly. Now, I could be entirely wrong and they could just ignore it like you’re saying, but all these guys are too wholesome for this stuff. When I see how overprotective and angry our OAK gets at children suffering. I just got that subtle feeling. Again could be wrong here. However anime they have seen so far are OBJECTIVELY not even remotely close to how odd the fan service is in My Hero

I can't speak for him but I think Chris is just speaking to the fact that there is a lot of infantilizing going on with this group of grown men for what is, at most, a few scenes in the first ~65 episodes. I think you're probably right in that these moments will definitely take them aback, at least initially. But, ultimately so many of these moments are seconds long at best and there really is not that much outside of the first 3 seasons (even then, most are just crude jokes. I can count the amount of gratituitous fan service on one hand).

Hi for anyone who is confused as to why they now alternate version sub/dub for anime, they did used to try and go off the comments for sub or dub but no matter which way they went there were always people that weren’t happy and often the comments got heated and started saying that they were doing one version more than the other which is why they now alternate to make the amount they do each one fair and try to provide people with the version that they want as if everyone who is voting knows which version it will be in they can be the ones to try and decide which version will be best (which is also a way that they are not alienating people as was previously mentioned here as the members have control over which anime is in which version by voting for the anime on the poll they they think would be best in the version Badd Medicine have said it will be reacted to)😊

Yeah people seem to recommend whatever, They loved the darker animes like AoT & Death Note... so something like Castlevania / Steins Gate / Berserk / Parasyte / Link Click or even stuff like JOJO would be a better fit for them and also shorter so they could get through more animes in the same time it would take to finish MHA or HxH.
