So if you're reading this, you stuck around through the infamous Patreon tax hike, and you have my sincere thanks! Now let's talk about what's in store for the next build of the game.

Initially the next build was set to feature the conclusion of both Jane and Raina's quest lines. But once the real work began, it became clear that we'd be keeping you guys waiting until September if we tried to cram that much in. I opted to instead make this next build all about Raina, which gives me the time to add a branch to her quest that will significantly alter how her story concludes depending on the choices you make.

As of now, we're hoping to have the next build out by the end of this month or the first week of August. As history has shown, predicting when it will be ready is not an exact science, so I'm reluctant to narrow it down any more than that. So far we've had a big build/small build release schedule. But I'm starting to wonder if they should all be small builds. We could certainly update more often that way.

But what do you guys think? This game wouldn't be still in production without you, so your feedback is crucial. What would you like to see in future updates? I'd love to hear your input.

I'm down for whatever. 👍🏿

I like the idea of more updates like the Elianna one. Short but only getting cut off when it makes sense to end that particular 'scene.' Obviously there's going to be a lot more story with her eventually, but at the end of her latest story I still felt satisfied with where we stopped. Less a cliff hanger and more of a stable ledge, not the goal but a place where we can rest and get a good look at our next destination. Either way, keep up the good work, and thanks for keeping us informed!

My vote is always for more lesbian content, but I know that's hard to do in a game where the player is a man. Heh.

Slim

I prefer the bigger builds even if that means we get them less frequently.

Gertram

Well, if Jane's involved I guess September is not that far. On a more serious note, I'm OK either way.

Doorknob22

From a professional point of view: smaller builds allow you more flexibility and tend to have better quality.

Blueno

Raina is da goat of da game. I can't believe she gets her own build next update.

Chris Davis

I love this game so much! Of course I want updates sooner, but honestly, at the end of the day, I want content, soooo, I'm going to go with bigger builds as my vote. However, I do see the merits of the smaller builds and, like with the Elianna one, I'll hold off in playing until there are a few updates together.

IronLx

I personally wouldnt mind actually waiting for a bigger release

Amy Jones

I prefer bigger builds because they're more satisfying to play.

Bob Fink

I'm all for builds like we just got with Elianna, it was very well done and had a great ending. I really like getting to play new builds more often. I follow another game maker and it normally takes 3 to 4 months between builds and that is hard, as you then have to try and remember what your choices were the last time to be at the same place. On the tax front, I was very surprised that I didn't see any tax taken this month.

I think if the goal of the release is to add content, release when you are happy with it, not just to get something out the door. If the goal of the release is bugfixes, however, small releases are fine. With the size of the game increasing, it takes longer to play through it, so in general I would prefer a larger release.

Maksim Vasilev

I prefer smaller more frequent builds as they can be thoroughly tested and allow better flexibility on terms of story and character development.

The Funny Hatter

I think the build up is most exciting. Also, have you ever thought about putting in voices for the game, or do you prefer the simply silent dialouge?

Slaughterbug

Depends on the ability to start from my last save. For smaller builds like the Elianna addition, it was nice not to have to play through the whole way again. If I can't just check out the new content I'd rather wait longer for a bigger build to make another playthrough worthwhile.

i am perfectly happy with big builds. small, frequent updates are nice and all, but when we have to play through the game again for a small amount of new content, the excited feeling doesn't last long enough. if the small updates also had a big post outlining the new stuff, maybe it would be good. i vote for less frequent bigger updates, along with a content overview post that goes in to some detail about what's new in terms of story direction and art.

I vote for smaller updates, but there's definitely benefits to both formats. Very excited to see more of Raina's story in the next build. On my first play through I moved on to Ellie's story without having gotten very far with either Chloe or Raina, so on my second play through it was really exciting to see as far as both of those plots go, but it was a definite bummer to keep playing after the present dead end of Raina's story. Given that, I'm stoked to see what's next, especially if it means more replayability by having different outcomes depending on how you play through their relationship.

Voice actors would make the game a lot more expensive, I anticipate. I also don't have a clear idea of how popular voice over in porn games is. I think I'd find it a bit immersion breaking, especially if it wasn't basically perfect, but that's just me. Maybe the majority of players would enjoy it.

Reinbach

You bet! Thanks for sharing. :)

Reinbach

That's part of why they appeal to me too I suppose, plus it's just less overwhelming for me personally as far as my workload is concerned.

Reinbach

Accidentally hit enter too soon. Thanks for sharing!

Reinbach

Voice acting was originally planned, but as the cast and text grew and grew, we reached a point where it could cost tens of thousands to fully voice the game, assuming we could even find that many decent actresses that would be ok with sex noises. (Still a relatively small pool of talent these days.) Still, it's not off the table for suture projects.

Reinbach

Makes sense! We're going to try and make that ability to skip ahead a staple moving forward.

Reinbach

Right on, hope you like what I have planned for her. :)

Reinbach

I guess there does need to be some in there at some point! :)

KaijuWhite

But really, I don't mind either update schedule. Short updates allow for hot fixes and bug removal. Updates that push the story i don't expect to be as common because writing and art take just as much time as building the coding.

nick

thanks for posting updates and always replying (eventually) to everyone :)

.

I'd rather have a more intricate plot than a rush-to-the-finish game. Take your time and continue to make it great :)

Vent

I'm really looking forward to Raina's storyline. Now that she's an option, she's honestly my favorite girl. And I'm interested in what two paths the story could go with her.
